Another cracking video Nev thankyou so much. Its interesting to see how the fuel is transferred from one engine to another. I think we could all agree we would be missing so much without the videos you make.Take care mate and thanks again.

Great stuff Neville. Very interesting to hear from Brad about workings of the fuel line and also the repairs on the number 2 fuel tank. There's nothing better than hearing the noise of a busy workshop. They are doing a fantastic job. Well done to all of them. Thank you Neville for another spot on update and am looking froward to your next one. Best wishes to you and all the guys at the centre.👍

How great it is to see the wonderful team restoring this Lancaster. As an ex Avro apprentice the noise of the compressed air drills Riveters and the use of PR 1422 & PR1431 brings back many happy memories.
Well done to all the skilled guys in the hanger. 😅

PRC sealing compound is the greatest invention ever when it comes to sealants. It remains flexible forever and it is just sticky enough to apply it on vertical or overhead surfaces without it running. It comes in various viscosities (thicknesses) for different applications. We would take the left over amounts and mold it into shapes before it cured. The most popular was to take an Apex cross head screw driver bit and stick it into a golf ball sized glob of sealant and, presto, you have a mini screw driver for short tight places.

The more detail we see, the more amazed I am at the effort it must have taken to design this aeroplane… on paper!!! Without CAD!

Thank you Neville. I ride over, have a bomber breakfast, and swipe my card on the wings fund when I can. Thank you for the weekly update. All the best to you and the techs.

Good to see John (PRC) again, we worked together on 18 Sqn many years ago. If you read this John don't be confused by my username (girl friends dogs name!). I'm SC who used to sit opposite AB and OU in TMs office. Hot water, that's a bit posh, what happened to spit and finger?

Great work Neville! It’s fascinating that fuel transfer system was an adaptation / afterthought from when the Lancaster was originally the Manchester. History! I also love how the bicycle chains operate everything.

They might know this already but when reinstalling those wing pins, freeze them. That way they go in for sure and won't have to worry if they will jam or not.

Hi David, sorry I forgot to to check it out. So today I had a word with Andrew, he suggested you should watch the video the Centre put out " Accessibility Video" . But he also said you would not be able to use your sticks on board, "safety reasons". On the net go to lincolnshire aviation heritage centre---click on experience our aircraft---click on Just Jane standard lancaster ride, on this page below the photo of Just Jane click on "accessibility video" . Good luck.

@@nevillewheeldon1693 thank you Neville. I think my access will be a problem, a real pity. Keep up the good work Neville, I'm sure I'm speaking for other guys too, your videos are a real treat. My father worked on Lancasters just after WW11 in 1946 seeing the systems up close makes sense of the stories he told me 👍👍

Thank you Neville. As a recent subscriber, and not wanting to go back through 238 videos. I have a question. When you mention the French aircraft, what are you actually referring to? Are there in fact two Lanc’s under restoration here? Just curious. Kermit Weeks should get involved here. We can’t have too many of these magnificent aircraft to admire. 😊
