Agreed. It's a shame that the only two actors who won Emmys on this show (despite Elizabeth Montgomery, Agnes Moorehead, and Dick York all being nominated) weren't alive to receive them (Alice Pearce and Marion Lorne).
Now that I know how the "magic" is done, the show is even more amazing. I wonder how long Dick and Elizabeth had to hold that pose while the scenery was changed.

I wonder whether it was colored green because Montgomery insisted on the color green being depicted favorably in order to dispel the green skin complexion of witches.

Wholesome and well written. BEWITCHED tells a story of two people from different backgrounds who try to mesh together to live their lives and raise a family. There are many examples of this. One that comes to mind is ART FOR SAM'S SAKE. In this episode, Sam decides she wants to paint a picture to enter in an amateur auction. Instead of using witchcraft, she was enjoying doing it by hand. Too Sam, it was more fun doing it this way, because she felt a sense of accomplishment. This is one aspect of mortal life that Sam enjoyed. On the other hand, Endora decided that Sam's painting didn't measure up to her standard, so she temporarily stole a masterpiece from a museum. Not exactly ethical, but Endora didn't care. 🙂
