What is Durwood complaining about ? Most Mortals would love to have this gift of wishing for what you want. He finally can see what Samantha's family is able to do.
yeah lots of people would love to get anything they want, when they want, and never have to work for a living - zero work ethic. Very lazy way to live.
This would have actually made a very good ending for the series, him getting powers. Also, the irony of Darrin saying he can't be something he's not, meanwhile never wanting Sam to use her powers, is exactly what he was asking of her..
You have failed to notice that Sam is a slummer. She is TIRED of her magic and is trying to see how the other half lives. This is why she married Darrin in the first place.
@@bethanyeschen-pipes3667 I don't need you to explain the show to me. And I didn't ask for your opinion in a reply either. You contradicting yourself when the entire show is her using her magic anyway. Maybe you need to watch it again instead of trying to explain something that wasn't asked of you in the first place
That would have been a really cool ending to the series and also would probably be the ending if the show was made today. I cannot find it anymore, but there's a beautiful fanfiction floating around set in season 1 when Sam couldn't remove the spell she put on Darrin to get the house to cooperate with him when he hurt his foot, and it developed into actual powers for him and he stopped aging and pretty much became a warlock. But it was a really well written piece showing him coming to terms with that and losing the regular life he had wanted.
She must have liked him somewhat. I mean, according to her family, they live for centuries, so for her a marriage to a mortal is not exactly a lifelong commitment. Besides, she doesn't need him any more than she needs a car, she could've turned him into if she wanted to, and he knew it. Long story short, they might not be compatible in most senses, but they must have had chemistry for her to stay with him when she could've left whenever she wanted.
Oh yeah he lost his personality in this one. the other actor who portrayed Darrin loved Sam he didn’t care if she was witch i think the other Darrin had a good heart. also when Sam did something wrong when magic happens he sort of does this thing this over exaggerates everything that Sam does.
I wish I could have wishcraft, too! (Waits for something to happen)...dang. :p But seriously, I notice that Darrin is being hypocritical here. He complains "I can't be something I'm not" and that changing his whole way of life doesn't seem possible...but that's EXACTLY what he expects Sam to do. He wants *her* to "be something she's not"--a mortal--and give up her entire life of magic in the name of being a "normal" human. I love how "Bewitched" wasn't afraid to explore that hypocrisy and show Sam fighting back by maintaining her powers and heritage anyway!

@@harperstacey9604 🟣 The best shows were the early years with Dick York. I thought Samantha's character was more sweet and innocent in the beginning. I also liked the 1960s fashions, hair styles, mid century set designs, & the 1960s cars, on the early episodes. Elizabeth Montgomery and Dick York had a honeymoon type chemistry. Dick Sargent and Elizabeth Montgomery seem more like roommates and friends. The spark wasn't there. Have you ever seen the 1963 movie, ( WHO'S MINDING THE STORE ) ? A great comedy with Agnes Morehead, Jerry Lewis, Jill St. John, Ray Walston, and many others you will know. Agnes Morehead is wonderful in it.
I read that Elizabeth Montgomery and Dick Sargent were actually good friends. But Agnes Moorhead didn't like Sargent that much. She was a lot closer to the first Darrin, Dick York. But I think Dick York had a really bad back injury and had to resign from the show before it ended.
I don’t know why Darrin is so antagonistic. I’ve wanted to have Organian or Q-like powers for decades. Oh, well, to each tis own. There is a fix, of course: Darrin can wish away the powers.
Once watch this tv show, different Darrin took over every change. Later why tv show came to ended. What’s his name. Same old repeat most tv show lines .

I know. He's always moaning.....
I agree
An ungrateful Durwood. Darrin 2 way to bitter and unreasonable

Get him Serena!! Darrin the Bold. Darrin, with magic! That would have been really cool.
Serena is cute when she's naughty❗️
Dagwood was such an ungrateful mortal. He should have been turned into the toad that he was!
There's no chemistry with this Derwood & Sam
Elizabeth Montgomery preferred Dick Sargent over Dick York.
True 😢
Exactly

I never liked this Darrin. He's never satisfied. If I had "wishcraft" powers, I 'd be thrilled to death. 🥰🥰✨️✨️🤗🤗
Right? lol I always felt like Darrin 1 would have eventually come around to the idea of witchcraft. This Darrin never would.

Dick York was a funny actor. Dick Sargent was sour.
Both the Darrins were grumpy & were never happy
The second Darrin had no sense of humor.

Maurice may have assisted in this matter when he gave Darrin a special watch in one episode!
Darrin's wishes were granted and he still wasn't happy.
Oh, you know Durwood....he's such a kiljoy!

He's not that much fun like Uncle Arthur is. 📺 🔆

Elizabeth Montgomery is and will always be 🥇 Samantha.
I was right I don't feel better. 😂
SERENA!! Groovy❤❤💣
Maybe if Sam wore a mustache he would be more warm towards her…
😂😂😂😂😂
Dick York He was the best in this show
Miss old Darrin
This is my favorite Darrin

📺 Do more on the early years of Bewitched, they were the best.
Only on 1960's TV is a man working in the yard wearing slacks, an Oxford, and a cardigan!!
What happened to the other Darrin. I like the other Darrin more then this one.
Dick York, who played the first Darrin had to leave the show because he had serious health problems.
