Yes it’s a sitcom but even sitcoms have to take place in a world of reality. And the fact is nobody would ever live, be friends with, or put up with Sheldon for as long as the group did. It would’ve made sense if he grew up and developed as a person as the show went on…..but that didn’t happen.

Let me add something. Those surfer boys in California would not fare any better. The West Coast is the best coast, and the best state on the on the best coast is Oregon. The U of O did win the first NCAA Men's basketball tournament in 1939. No one can take that away even though the tournament had a lot fewer teams at the time.
