  • There are so many Japanese Classic Origami Crane tutorials in RUclips. Some are truly traditional crane tutorial, and others are the ones someone just made up.
So, I just wanted to clarify and show you how to fold a true traditional Japanese origami crane.
I forgot to include "Material You Need", but only thing you need is a Square origami or other foldable square-shaped paper.
In Japan, everyone knows how to fold this origami crane.
I hope you will try folding this too!
    Happy Origami Folding!!

Thank you so much for your nice, clear instructions. I’m teaching Japanese at a school in Kenya, and I’ve taught a box, so I’ll teach a crane today.

I made my first origami crane today 17th July 2024. I was moved and inspired by the story of Sadako Sasaki after reading someone stole her statue from the park in Seattle 😢. I did not know of her until today, so I researched her story. I think I’ll be making cranes will from now on to honour her.

Thank you very much. Yes, the news about Sadako's statue in Seattle made me sad too. I'm glad that you were inspired by her story. We should be holding our hands together rather than fighting each other. Thank you very much for your beautiful comment.

WOW! I’m so glad you did this video 🌟 I’ve just slowed you down and followed you thru step by step. I’ve made other cranes but this is absolutely the best and probably the most authentic. My first authentic crane is sitting on my desk as I write this. I’m deleting the other videos that I’ve saved and downloaded because I think this is wonderful and it’s the only way I’ll make one from now on.

Thank you very much for your comment. In Japan, kids even younger than 7 year old can fold this Origami crane. For example one of my children could. So, 7 year old is a starting age not really saying that you need to be able to fold this at age 7. So, if you felt uncomfortable by my rating, I apologize.
If you are an origami beginner, you should definitely start from 3 year old+ tutorials. Have a wonderful holiday season!!
