How To Make a Origami Paper crane (Traditional Japanese culture,
Today, we are making this crane.
At first, colored side is up, and fold it in half diagonally to make creases.
Turn over, and make other creases by folding it in half vertically and horizontally.
Although this process is not general,
we are doing that to reduce the error range at the next step.
    Fold it in half diagonally.
Open and squash it into a square.
Using the creases you made, you can fold it easily.
    Make some creases.
    Open and squash it.
You can fold the lower part easily by using the creases.
You have to make the valley creases into mountain folds for the upper part.
This technique is called “petal fold”.
Fold it in half to make it more thin.
    Make inside reverse folds.
For one side, make an inside reverse fold again to make a head.
    Spread the wings to complete.

Thank you, couldn't follow the diagrams in the book I bought, so this was super helpful!!! Did have to play it at half speed so I could 'fold along'...!!! I now have a slightly wonky crane!!

I did Origami as a child, I am 60 now and decided to give it a try again. This is such a wonderful, helpful tutorial. My second Crane turned out pretty good. This is exactly the way I learned it. Thank you ☺️

After you finish the crane, hold the crane by the wings so that the top is facing toward you, and try pulling the base of the wings outward and slightly downwards away from you. I hope that makes sense, hope this helps!

Thanks for this video with the true traditional version! I learned to fold this way back in the early 1990's in elementary school and I never forgot! However now as I'm teaching young students, it bothered me that most of the new videos leave out some of the essential steps! I will be using this with an origami club I'm running at our school. Thanks!
