Welcome back and thank you for doing this reaction to lovebites again, this is the monster cover from lovebites, haruna (OMG) her drumming 😮 LOVEBITES ROCK
People think asami vocal is not fit with metal but i dont think so. After listening this song and seeing another version of her vocal, asami really fit well to the song it is just asami choosed to sing with different technique when she was with lovebites
Dude, the reason why it's not live is because they did post-production her voice to distort it to be close to Rob's. They performed Eagles fly free as well and played it live, as you can see on RUclips and although the instrumentals were precise, as usual, Asami's voice definitely struggled replicating Michael kiske's. Miho implied in a recent interview that they cover these 2 covers were a response to Nemophila's Iron maiden covers, which astonishingly raked up several million views, in just months, durinng the pandemic. This Virtually Single-Handedly iintroduced Themto the Western market and a Tour in the US got got sufficient popularity to occur Months Later. Asami could not perform Painkiller live. However, she absolutely does have a good metal voice, but of the operatic type e.g. Bruce Dickinson, which is why Miho chose her as Iron Maiden are Miho's favourite band. What's unfortunate is that Nemo chose 2 maiden songs instead of these Priest and Helloween tracks, because they would have been more suited, to Mayu's voice, which is definitely more versatile. She would have killed both eagle fly free and painkiller in the studio and "live", because of her lower range and rasp. If they had done that then Asami would have been free to choose a couple of Maiden tracks, where her voice really would have shone as maidens vocal songs are very suited to her style, and also because and she speaks much better English than Mayu, who struggled with enunciation of the complex and technical iron maiden lyrics, but still sounded great because of the quality of her voice. There are limitations to her scope unfortunately, because she has a better upper range, but A worse lower range Than Bruce, for obvious reasons. Therefore they must keep the songwriting and diversity high because they don't have the options that bands like Nemophila have, as Mayu's voice is far more versatile and can reach almost thehigher range of Asami, but also has a great lower range and arguably the best rasp in music history
@@Rowlph8888The reason they didn't play this live is rather that Miho had already announced that she would leave Lovebites at the point this cover was recorded lol. There were no live shows to perform this at.
@@Rowlph8888 You evidently misunderstood me, but I should have worded it better also. Miho recorded this together with the other members, obviously, but she had already announced that she would leave Lovebites at that point. There were no live shows with Miho, so there was not even a real opportunity to perform this cover live. Also it's hilarious that you would call me a "relatively new fan". I've been listening to Lovebites for almost four years now and my comments are on Lovebites videos all over RUclips. What a clueless statement! Also I just looked at their setlists over the years and it appears that they have performed Painkiller live, actually. Back in 2019.
I think there is a video where you can see them perform this song!!! Painkiller came out late 1990 I guess there is no actual video of them playing Painkiller, but I swear I watched one a while back.
So the information was a little wrong there. one and two are the greatest hits. Discs three and four are the instrumentals of the greatest hits. Disc number five are the music videos. And the bonus disc which was print to order was the cover of Painkiller. So in order to get it, you had to order by a certain date and then they printed up the exact number of orders for the offer with Painkiller and then there’s no more. That’s what I ordered when I heard they were covering this song as a very happy birthday to me as well because I got it on December 31, 2021.
Babymetal actually covered this twice (that I know of). Once with Rob Halford at the APMA Awards, and once in concert with Chad Smith sitting in on drums when they were touring with RHCP.
right up their alley, as you said. excellent cover. (marinas new band mardelas have also made an awesome cover of "painkiller". unfortunately there is just an eighty second long snippet available on YT. but it might be even better than this cover. marinas voice!)
I have this 5 disc version. My problem is that they left off so many great songs. They should have made it 4 discs of songs. 😂😂 The addition of this Painkiller was very welcome though.
Some of the comments mention (also) a cover of Baby metal with Rob Halford... sorry, but it really wasn't that great... dusty and incomplete... what's more, the Lovebites play their own instruments... something Baby Metal doesn't do (there are professional musicians behind them)...
Best classic metal album ever.
The Lovebites version pulverized what to date was the best Painkiller cover ever made, which belonged to the Brazilian band Angra.
I think there is a video where you can see them perform this song!!!
Painkiller came out late 1990

No no, Painkiller was a latecomer in Judas' catalogue, it is 1990.

Painkiller came out in 1990 not 1981.
JUDAS PRIEST top songs PAIN KILLER AND BREAKING THE LAW, BABYMETAL and Rod Halford(Judas Priest) performed together live on stage.....
I don't even think painkiller is the best sonng on the "painkiller" album.Just shows how great the album is

you should give a listen to the cover of Painkiller that DEATH did, also, you might be surprised.
