If not for Asami's voice, I would have thought it was JUDAS PRIEST.

I have always enjoyed Death's cover of this song. But Lovebites truly honored the original, and in my opinion, because they nailed it and modernized it, I think this cover is a tad better than Priests version.
Also, in my personal opinion, Miyako & Midori are the best dual lead guitarists ever, and I say that without hesitation. To clarify best so I don't step on toes....my all-time favorite dual guitar leads.
It's good but it will never be good as the original😢 but it is a great cover❤
It's the same as the original, but they just have better modern instruments and recording equipment. It's the same as Nemophila's covers of maidens, Aces high and The Trooper… frankly, the production for Iron Maiden and Judas priests earlier albums was Often shockingly bad and they always perform these tracks better live, so Modern recording studio covers are not hard to do a less artificial sounding crisper listening experience, number 80's recording versions

People on the internet have to remember that music is subjective. Not everyone is going to agree with ones opinion. But...There is one thing people should agree on is that this bands talent is on another level.

The musicanship of them is that great, if they do a cover of any Metal Song, they do it better than the original by accident, cause they are LOVEBITES!
A very faithful cover for sure, they didn't strayed too much from the original. In terms of execution its very good, technically you would expect them to crush this and they did!!
I think Asami did really well here, obviously its very hard to be like Halford he has such a unique iconic voice, i think she did good!

They nailed it in my opinion. I was a fan of Death's version before I heard Lovebites version but as soon as Haruna started and the guitars kicked in, it was game over. I've always heard there's two ways to do a cover, note for note or make it your own, Lovebites chose note for note which in my opinion was the correct way to cover this song, the song is too iconic to mess with. Imo

There are only two Painkiller covers worth listening to: Angra's and this one by Lovebites. The girls utterly nailed it.

Miho Miho Miho! the vocals where the only "personal stamp" per say so yes very faithful rendition.
This cover actually a bonus track If you buy their album. Lovebites doesn't released this cover officially so this song must not to be on youtube

Helloween's "Eagle Fly Free" is another damn good cover that LOVEBITES does.
Lovebites just honoured the great song. Its a tribute, painkiller is my all time fav from JP (it is my alarm clock ringtone, everyday its hit my ear 😂) ....kudos to Lovebites to make it sound better....love miyako n midori guitar tone, n of course haruna...

May I suggest Asterism another sensational young trio out of Japan that are mind blowing and if you want a guitar warrior then I give you Ha-Cal age 16, Miyu age 17 on his custom made 7 string bass by ESP and his brother Mio age 19 on drums keeping these 2 beasts in check. Its a safe cover for sure, I wonder if they put some of their flavour on the song, making some changes, how good it would become, for me this would be better, anyway it is a great cover.

I like this cover in the same way I liked Ghost's Phantom of the Opera cover. It's update production and sounds really good, but the original is still the original.

Lovebites does not do covers much. They have only done 3 and each one was performed only for fun.
They are Japanese, so it would be a tribute not so much a cover. A tribute shows respect, whereas a cover could be seen as trying to improve the original. Respect carries a lot of weight in their culture.

This is totally amazing. It is so good. It is very close to the original. Guitars and drums are out of this world. I have not listened to the original so intensely that I can say that one is better than the other. Maybe a bit different. But which is better I do not know. When it comes to singing, Asami really did a great job. I mean. Rob Halford? Pain Killer? Who can even come close? Not many on this planet. But, she did come close. Not exact, but close. At least in the high parts. Rob is singing lower also in Pain Killer, which Asami did not. Needs a male voice or Diana Ankudinova for that.

There is no shame in being considered second to Rob Halford vocally. And to a large extent, vocals come down to person preference.

My opinion is that if you have an anthem of our music, if you change the cover too much, you will destroy the song......they wanted to do it, they did it good or bad........i judge a band by its songs. ...no the covers....and something else that noone reactor didn't mention.....the last scream of Asami is much longer than Rob Halford......😏

Probably my least favourite song of theirs. In the words of Tenacious D, i think it's more of a tribute to JP than a cover.
