I think Avantasia does long songs best; these are songs such as "Let the Storm Descend Upon You", "The Raven Child" and "Arabesque". A shorter song is 'welcome to the shadows'. This band as you pointed out is a super group and has a whole rabbit hole of people that tour with them and work with them. The guitarist is Sascha Paeth who is the producer and has worked with Kamelot and Epica. One of the persons that has toured with them is Adrienne Cowan: singer of Seven Spires - Another great band to check out, I suggest "Almosttown".

Saw them live in Brisbane Australia in 2024 and they were brilliant. Great players

One of the top metal guitar duo's of all time (Florestan Durand / Pierre Danel). These guys are the gold standard of modern guitars. Music fans that are stuck in the mainstream past have no clue how good this generation of guitar players are. What you saw here in this song as far as guitars go, you've only heard about 10% of how much talent they actually have. This song is perhaps one of their most simple guitar compositions. If you want to see what they are capable of, listen to 5:12 AM on the Novelists ''Live in Lyon'' video. That entire video actually should be heard for you to see how good they really are.

Acoustic parts are what makes this album and this band unique for most people, I think. It’s such a nice contrast, as someone said, all the pretty parts make heavy stuff heavier and uglier, and heavy stuff makes pretty parts prettier. Perfect balance on this album.

Great reaction, guys! Avantasia is one of the biggest bands in Europe. The guy singing there is Tobias Sammet. It is his project. He has many different singers join him. Some are regulars like Bob Catley (Magnum) and Jorn Londe (Master plan and Pentakill). Also Amanda Sommerville (Trillium) and Geoff Tate ( Queensryche). Plus Mickael Kiske (Helloween and Place Vendone). He also has guest singers such as Floor Jensen (Nightwish), Alice Cooper, Eric Martin (Mr. Big), Sharon Den Adel (Within Temptation), Ronnie Atkins, Candice Night and many more. That is one of Tobias's fun songs. Check out "The wicked rule the night" from "A Paranornal Evening With the Moonflower Society" album, its a bit heavier! They do long songs too. My personal favourite is "Let the storm descend upon you" from their Ghostlights album.

The song is about the "16 types of Personalities" a thing... "Myers-Briggs Type Indicator" that was compiled back in 1921. There's a test you can take to see which one of the 16 you fall in. During that little talking section, they were asking Hettsu what her type was, and she couldn't remember.

I really like Coal Chamber and they had a huge influence on late 90's/early 2000's Nu-Metal. I also understand and accept that Coal Chamber are pretty maligned in music circles and this album is fucking rough. 'Chamber Music' wasnt an awful lot better either. 'Dark Days' was a much better effort. It struck the balance between those first two records quite nicely and its a hell of a lot of fun to listen to.
