I know this is a cover, but it's done to such perfection I feel it's more of a tribute to Judas Priest. I have NEVER heard a better cover of this song than this one. Lovebites are simply that good.

This cover, along with the song "Nameless Warrior" were released in December 2021 as part of the box-set "In the Beginning - The Best of 2017-2021". They are the last recordings to feature original bassist and founder Rosana:Miho, who left the band in August of the same year.
It's nice to see the pictures of Miho looking happy and beautiful. The cover is damn good. "Painkiller" was on LOVEBITES' early setlists along with Helloween's "Eagle Fly Free" and "Overkill" by Motorhead.
One of the other covers of "Painkiller" that I like is Babymetal performing it live in London with Chad Smith of the Red Hot Chili Peppers. They don't perform the whole song, going into "Breaking the Law" about halfway through, but it's a fun one-off.
Yes, in many videos she do not look happy. I mean, we all do have our looks, in particular when we do not have any particular mood. Just are. And I got the impression that in many videos she just were. Doing her stuff as the manus said. I might be wrong but I have sometimes felt sorry for her. And I was waiting for her to quit. Now, it might just be a coincident that she did. She had a reason. But, sometimes reasons makes it possible to do what you want.
Kinda implies you don't like the vocals in the original. Rob purposely sang in the high register for this song. Asami's just emulating Rob. My 2 cents. 🤘

Instrumentality, I loved what they did with this. Not so much on the vocals.
