🐺Another great reaction Wave! It's already been mentioned that this Reaction was actually a '2 fer 1'. I love hearing other actual musicians react to this band. Nuance is the right word to describe the musical compositions of this amazing group. Asami has a voice that is often underrated unless she is singing something like Edge of the World or Epilogue - and she is a lyrical genius. Midori started off 4 years ago as a really good guitarist - and has morphed into one of the best pure shredders in the world with amazing variety in her licks. Haruna keeps it all together with innovative drum patterns (like the 5/4 on the ice bell in the middle of Edge of the World) - and she is ALWAYS smiling while double kicking at 200bpm. Myako - Musical Genius - Mad Skills - Amazing Compositions - world class on the piano, and getting there on the guitar. I'm praying that Miho will start feeling better and start missing her 'sisters' because I believe she was the Metal Heart & Soul and inspiration for Lovebites, and I'm not sure they can be the same without her. There are lots of great female bass players in Japan though. No need to recommend anything, you are doing a great job on your own :0) Thanks! Wolfpack-USA🐺
Miyako posted on Instagram from her home studio yesterday of her mixing a song. So it's official that Lovebites is back to making new music. All I need now is announcement about their new bassist.
That is indeed great news! I'm a little behind on my social media this week. I am praying that since there was no 'bad blood' Miho will come back to the band. The only replacement I can think of is Michiko Koga (F Chopper) from Gacharic Spin. But since GS is HER (and Hana's) band, that is very unlikely.
As much as I want this to happen, I wouldn't call that "Official". I saw the photo and post myself. Miyako posted a photo of her at the keyboard with her music software application on screen. It is all speculation that she was composing new songs. Unless she said that herself you can't infer that is what she was doing from a photo. I hope that was the case but you can't be certain that is what she was doing.
@@Patrick_H. Miho posted about a week ago that she said 2021 will always be memorable because she stepped away from music which was the center of her life up to that point. She then went on to say that she obtained a motorcycle license and plans to travel. So in my opinion she won't be playing bass anytime soon, if at all.
yes to the Gary Moore, and Miyako's soulful playing. For some reason her Gary Moore sections always remind me of the Rasberries/EricCarmen. Which is weird, cuz he was inspired by Rachmaninoff, and Battle Against Damnation was as well, but only a few seconds of Gary blues on that, mostly *Metal*
Only pianist with a guitar hanging off her back...LOL Wonder where she's going with that. OK...I have a pretty good idea. Waiting for the other shoe to drop. Ok, I was shocked of the gradual transition to a rock ballad vs. the normal cliff they jump off. Brings tears to your eyes. So beautiful!
With these two songs they show how versatile and exceptional musicians they are. “Epilogue” (first song) is a masterpiece; those guitars sing and cry and it showcases Asami’s vocals and Miyako’s piano playing. Of course, all of them are so talented. The second song (Don’t bite the dust) is a rocker, to change the mood.
Your comment reminded me of my enjoyment of Midori's solo on Epiligue. And some talk about her a pure shredder - Nope. And that ending solo was next level and a perfect end for the song - JMHO

Interesting that you pointed out the 'jazzy' sounding sequence Miyako plays at the end of the piano into to 'Epilogue'. In an interview when asked what she would do if/when Lovebites stopped performing, she said she would not play metal because that was only for Lovebites and might play jazz instead. She is so talented she could turn her guitar and piano skills to anythng.
