Big white oak logging.

One of my awesome neighbors had this tree cut down and gave me the log. This log will be used in an upcoming timber frame project for my wife’s pottery barn.
This log was somewhere around 26’ Long. The biggest section of log I cut at 14 foot long. It’s right at 27 inch diameter from end to end. My estimate using the green log weight chart is that this 14 foot log weighs somewhere around 3700 pounds. That is physically too big for me to move with a four wheeler. It was necessary for me to split it in half and also take a 2 inch slab out and move it in three sections including the slab. Nothing is impossible if you use a little creative ingenuity to reach your goals.
