Great video!! Seeing the way you move around logs gave me some ideas. The walnut is gorgeous!

Nice setup! Clever idea to use a log arch to haul the logs and putting them on the trailer. People sometimes forget how heavy these things are. What type of chain are you using? Is it sharpened in a specific angle?

The arch has defiantly made moving logs so much easier! the chain in this video is from Baileys online store, it is a .404 ripping chain ground to 10°. I buy it in 50' and 100' rolls. Ripping chain is considerably smoother and a little faster, well worth it. You could also take your 30° chains to a saw shop and have them grind it down to 10° and that would work just as well.

I also highly recommend Carlton milling chain if you can find it. This seller on eBay is awesome (eandrsupply) Ive purchased 100' rolls of 3/8" ripping chain and its the best IMO.
      thanks for watching!

Cool! What size chainsaw? Just curious what you need to run a big bar like that.

Hello. I have a question. How tightly do you tighten the chain on the bar?

I keep the chain just tight enough so I could pinch it in the middle of the bar and lift it high enough to slide a small coin under it. I’m using a woodland pro chain on this set up, which tends to stretch a little bit after the first or second cuts. I check it frequently and make sure it’s not too loose from stretching. I hope that makes sense, thanks for watching!

I’m using a 64” bar on a 60” mill. Gives me exactly 57 inches of cutting width.
