Spandau Ballet are one of Britain’s great iconic bands having sold over 25 million records, scored numerous multi-platinum albums and amassed 23 hit singles across the globe since their humble beginnings as a group of friends with dreams of stardom in the late 1970s. It wasn’t long before they became fully-fledged members of the iconic Blitz Club scene and established themselves as one of the super-groups of the 80s.
The band's classic line-up features brothers Gary and Martin Kemp on guitars, vocalist Tony Hadley, saxophonist Steve Norman and drummer John Keeble.
After two decades apart, the band reformed in 2009, embarking on a sold-out tour. In 2014 the band released a critically lauded documentary film ‘Soul Boys Of The Western World’ and returned to the studio recording three new tracks 'Steal', 'Soul Boy' and 'This Is The Love' for the anthology 'The Story'. ‘
This has been followed by the ‘Soulboys Of The Western World’ world tour wowing crowds and critics alike with the band making rapturous returns for the first time in 25 years to USA, Canada, Australia, New Zealand and parts of mainland Europe.

I think im one of the youngest fans of Spandau Ballet. Tony´s voice is great, in fact better that before. I love all of their songs, specially Through the Barricades, Only When You Leave and Once More. This group is absolutely wonderful and their performance here was perfect, much better than in the album, i think. I would have loved to go and see you in Madrid (I´m from Spain) but i couldn´t. I soo much regret it. Defenitely think you are one of the best groups in history, and Im 13... :D
I saw Tony Hadley Live a few years ago in Abu Dhabi and he said Through the Barricades was his favourite Spandau song.
I know Gary you've always thought that "the Barricades" was always your best but I have to tell you guys, I think this is. It is such an emotional song, and I put my hands up and admit that I cried to it at the Perth concert. Hubby learned to play it on the guitar for me for my 40th and I cried even more! Especially when my 5 year old and 10 year old daughters can sing it so beautifully. Thank you for the music!
Steve Norman co-wrote the song with Gary. Tony and Steve make it a great song.

This song is a hell to sing. Tony struggles too much with it, I can share his pain but I am, too, impressed by his skills. His baritone voice can reach everything at such age, while some tenors I've heard trying to sing it have a hell of a bad time trying. Props to Tony and the band, for composing their best song after the reunion.

i must accept that i got into this group because of my father. He bought the new CD and played it on the car. At first I didnt pay attention to it... but then i started listening carefully and told my dad "wait, put that song again" (Only When You Leave) and i made him play it like 5 times :D later i listened to the original song and liked even better!!! and since then i started listening to music of that time, which i defenitely didnt think was a possiblity before i heard them!

Love your new song - it really tells your story as well as ours. So glad we got to see you "once more". Much better than my previous experience in Adelaide in 85. That time I was right up the back and wasn't allowed to get up and dance by those around me. This time - front row, dancing my arse off, and meeting you guys back at the hotel after - AMAZING!!! Can't wait to see you again in a couple of years - you promised!
