At first it felt as though 1st and 2nd gears are nothing. 2nd is almost a granny gear, but not until i got on some steep singles and climbs. The short ratio builds the compression under the low end so beautifully it is almost too much for one to comprehend 😳

Both Bikes are competition bikes. The TX is dialed towards Enduro GP style Cross Country Enduro racing. The TE is dialed towards technical Hard Enduro racing. Guys literally finish races like romaniacs on Standard TE bikes. Bikes like the Honda CR230F are trail bikes. This is not comparable to that in category
@@BoostedFB6 the 250 is actually only about a 1 pound difference. The difference comes into play with it being able to rev out faster than the 300. Some say they feel the 250 just feels light and more flickable.
I have a 2019 te300i. Love the bike but my only complaint has been the Magura brakes, more specifically the front. I’m very curious about the performance of the Brake Tec brakes!
I have a 2023 te300i with Bratec brakes. My front brakes have a slightly gritty engagement. This is due to whatever pad compound they used. They are very consistent and the take-up seems good. I don't have any complaints.
I can tell you right now lets see if the Tx300 top end will fit and interchange with this 2t efi eater of 4strokes that I will bet eats all 4 strokes not only on the bottom end on handlebar tight woods section racing GNCC but tops out at warp while 4 strokes are lock out creeping at impulse with their Yoshimura fart cannons.....and OMFG I just had a brain fart as this husky dear just telling us we may not like it cuz it's a ho-hum Power Band duh there's a tx300 means there's different software means there are Vance & Hines fuel managers that plug into your data Port darn it and there is the ultimate tuner cult TTS that puts the scream in the Eagle making Harley dyna's run 9s in the quarter been there and done that... TTS is a multi-tuner company for purpose-built specializing everything as I'll bet they're sweating and biting their fingernails right now with CGI dynamometer simulations cuz they know if you can afford a Husqvarna you're going to tune it to the Moon

Greatly depends on how and where you ride! I've had rides where i only get 35 miles on a tank but have also done 55 miles on a tank. If you're on the pipe a lot on technical single track 40 miles is about right.
Got about 250miles on 12 hours 2022 tpi te300i rockstar with no cooling fans as long as it's not 90+ she's been solid for 7 hours of riding. And they do sell fans lol

I'm 6'3" and 285 lbs. Is the TX250, TX300i or the TE300i the better choice? I want to drive both on a motocross track and on trail. I'm not an advanced driver.

So I'm considering a 2020-2021 KTM EXC-F 350 4-stroke at the moment. I'm thinking that might still have enough torque at low revs to tractor me around, but mellow enough at higher revs to lower the risk of me making mistakes. What do you think about that? 🤔 They might just be out of my price range though, but perhaps a 250 4-stroke would simply be too weak for someone my weight.
From what I have seen the pros say on youtube and reviews of the bikes from the pros not just a few people. For certain they win more MX Supercross MXGP Championships and races and I believe its not even close Should I go on?
What I do know is the new 300's are gay as fuck and are basically like the 4 strokes without any of the advantages the 4 strokes have, like bottom-end, engine life, etc. They are also now more maintenance than. a 4 banger I've always been a 2 banger guy, but I'll get a 450 next. From what I've seen a 350 (yes a 350) will be about the same as a new 300 in a straight line race if that's what interests you.
Hey man realistically they are very close difference really is just the power delivery. Both are fun I was the four stroke kid growing up and I have 22 rockstar te300i she's dope fun and fast nobody that has ridden my bike would tell you not to buy one they are better then 450s in technical terrain but it's all skill level and technique. Any of the new ones man and you really can't go wrong
Faster in single track only because a 450 is too powerful and a guy has to ride it carefully. I have a 2019 crf450r that I made into a snowbike and wanted a summer bike, I got wrapped up in the hype of these 300s and like an idiot I bought it before riding one. In my opinion they aren't worth the money and if you've ever ripped a 450 this thing will disappoint everywhere except single track and technical terrain. I wish I would have got another 450 😔💸

Mine is an older with a Lectron carburetor and you can easily do 65 miles. TPI probably does 70+ unless you ride very gnarly terrain like lugs and giant rocks.
This is an advertisement, not a review. Nothing said about frequent piston seizures, broken subframes, failing Crankcase Pressure Sensors, or the 30 day warranty. 5 out of 10 TPI bikes in our group have seized since January. One outlier went 430 hours before a new top end. Some guys get good ones, some guys get screwed. The dealers are no help at all.
Well the official statistics by most accounts is that piston seizure happens in about 5% of bikes in the first 2 years. Appears to be a mapping issue icausing the bikes to run lean and seize in the US and Australian market. KTM has since recalled many of the bikes and listed the issue in their service notes. So hopefully its fixed for these 2022 models. I know 14 guys with the TPIs who have not had a single issue. Crank case pressure sensor issue was very common in the 18 and 19 bikes approximately 10% of bikes. Broken subframes were not listed in the service notes for the past 4 years which means less than 1% of bikes experience it. But like you said. Some guys get great ones. Some get bad ones. KTM dealers her in Southern Africa are a huge help though. Weirdly I recently heard of 2 people getting Yamahas that both seized in the first 40 hours a 125x and 250x. Very strange to have seen that happen. Just ba luck. But my 1996 KDX 220 is still running strong and I do Hard Enduro every weekend 🤣
@@joshuavanzuydam5044 Glad to hear that TPI is working for your local conditions. Most of our seizures have occurred in winter conditions: temps between 30-50 degrees Fahrenheit. All of the pistons seized on the intake side, the cold side of the piston. The oil tank is not heated like snowmobiles. Upon disassembly, coagulated oil was covering the reed block. Apparently the thick cold oil wasn’t getting to the piston to properly lubricate it. I haven’t seized a piston in 50 years until I bought not one but 2 TPI bikes. The pressure sensors don’t fail completely or send an error code, but degrade gradually just enough to upset the mixture and cause flat spots and stuttering off idle. On the 2019 bikes there is only one, and it is a big hassle to gain access. The 20-21 bikes have 2: one for ambient pressure and one for crankcase. Only the crankcase sensor seems to go bad. They are the same part number. The subframes have been redesigned several times, usually to make them lighter and weaker. They cost over $500 and current wait time is a couple months.

@@stevenllewellyn8906 The factory has changed the map a couple times. The newest map gives the bike more oil at startup. I am sure that is the one installed on a 2022 model. All of our seizures occurred operating in 30-50 degree Fahrenheit temps. The oil is thick at these temps and doesn’t seem to get through the reeds well when the engine is cold. Don’t stress the motor until you get up to operating temps. Buy a digital coolant temp gauge and put it where you can see it. The TPI bikes run too cold unless you are loading the engine. We see 100 degrees Fahrenheit coolant temps rolling down the mountain, even after an hour of operation. That is way too cold, and triggers a different mixture and more oil from the ECU. Consider blocking off one radiator with duct tape. Buy at least one spare Crankcase Pressure Sensor as a spare. They are frequently back ordered for months. About $40. When the bike starts running rough at light throttle openings change out the CCP sensor. This will often fix the problem. The Ambient Pressure Sensor is the same part but doesn’t seem to fail. In a pinch you can just swap both sensors position and this usually will fix it. If you race, buy a spare $500 poly amide carbon fiber subframe. These break frequently and my buddy had to wait 3 months to get a replacement. Try not to loop your bike. Landing on the tail seems to break it. I love KTM/ Husky 300’s, and have bought 4 new ones recently. I ride several hundred hours a year and am just sharing my hard won and expensive knowledge. I think my 2017 TE 300 carb bike was the best of the lot, and the lightest too.
Yes the TX (AER fork) are diferente internally, especially 2022. My doubt are about TE (enduro model) with XPLOR. The thing is, did they replace the mid-valve? I mean for a real mid-valve not that “thing” that they have since 2017 models. Responsible for that excessive and uncontrollable plushness!
I'm guessing you meant at least 93 octane no lead you find at the pumps and use the Husqvarna oil that they have special Blended just for this engine and never ever use anything else and you should be able to pull the head and look in the cylinder and never see a speck of carbon ever on any of the ports piston exhaust nothing and she will love you long time
@@donniebaker5984 that's not right. They have a recommended oil but not a specific blend. And every internal combustion engine produces carbon. You can't not have it.
Then you've got some lucky dealership then as the husky is most definitely more expensive than the ktm in Aus even the Yamaha's are more expensive than ktm (4t's that is and the 2t's are only a couple hundred less)

My riding buddy had his ‘21 seize with less than 12 minutes on the bike. KTM was good enough to give him a replacement. It seized at 20 hours and they aren’t doing anything under warranty. You can’t find top end parts for them anywhere, which should tell you something. He bought a ‘17 (carb) and has put over 50 hours (70 total) on it now without issue. Depending on what you read it’s because the tpi is too lean at idle and he let it warm up too long. Other things say he isn’t warming it up enough and it’s cold seizing, partly due to running much leaner than a carb at all settings. 🤷♂️
@@gpaull2 my only concern with these TPI bikes is seizing and like you said: I don’t wanna risk an early seizure. I’m probably gonna stick to my 2001 YZ250 ;)
My 2020 tx300i did about 175 hours in 9 months with no issues that I didn’t cause by crashing it excessively. My dads 2021 ktm 250 XCW hasn’t ran correctly in the entire time we’ve had it and has been in and out if ktm dealership 15 times and all that has accomplished is making it continue run terribly but in a different way. His 2020 te150i runs perfectly. TPI are exceptional if you get one that works but if you’re unlucky enough to get a bad apple it’ll probably never get fixed because you can’t identify the problem. Definitely worth the purchase just be ready to fight the dealer for a lemon law and don’t modify it until you’re sure it runs correctly. I’m going with a sherco next to try something different but if it was any harder to find one I’d have just gone with another ktm/husky

1:20-1:39 who hired this guy? Not only does he make a big stink about both TPI and oil injection as if they are new things he says "completely different mixture".. Tell that to all the 2-stroke owners using injector-compatible 2 stroke oil in their pre-mix bikes. I would hazard a guess 90-95% of current 2-stroke oil on the market is compatible with both gas mix and oil-injected bikes, on top of that I have yet to see an oil that works in injected bikes but not in pre-mix bikes that is backwards. Early on when injection was a new thing then people who had injection had to make sure their oil they were buying was compatible for injected bikes but not vice-versa. You could always use oil for injected systems in pre-mix systems as far as I have ever heard
I like the hit with the carbs myself them new bikes are way too smooth, imo they’re neutering them to make them weaker for this new weak generation of people lol.
I have one of the Mukuni bikes (300xc). People hate the Mikuni. But with JD's jet block gasket and needle set, it works great. I haven't ridden a TPI bike but this talk about having less of a hit does not appeal to me. I have a 500exc also and the mellow response is good for dualsport but I wouldn't want it on my 300.
If it ain't got a kickstarter then it ain't a true woods bike. It's a toy intended for large OV parks at best. My 450/530/690 will outride and out-start any of these toys. Husky saved what,,,,,,12 oz of weight by eliminating a kickstarter on a 2-stroke TPI. wtf guys.

You need to check the facts. It specifically calls for Motorex 2T premix oil in manual.....
They definitely made a mistake on the 40mi per tank. I’ve done 70+ with a buddy that has this same bike.

I've consistently got 55-65 miles out of a tank depending on the style of riding. Better check for fuel leaks if you're only getting 40 lol

40 miles is not correct. The tpi I have can do 70+ on the stock tank.
Perhaps the 2022 runs richer. Which don’t get me wrong I like to have range. But I want power and a reliable and cool running two stroke engine.

I'm 6'3" and 285 lbs. Is the TX250, TX300i or the TE300i the better choice? I want to drive both on a motocross track and on trail. I'm not an advanced driver.

So I'm considering a 2020-2021 KTM EXC-F 350 4-stroke at the moment. I'm thinking that might still have enough torque at low revs to tractor me around, but mellow enough at higher revs to lower the risk of me making mistakes. Anyone know how this thing stands up to the 450 4-strokes ? Is it faster or slower ?
What I do know is the new 300's are gay as fuck and are basically like the 4 strokes without any of the advantages the 4 strokes have, like bottom-end, engine life, etc. They are also now more maintenance than. a 4 banger I've always been a 2 banger guy, but I'll get a 450 next. From what I've seen a 350 (yes a 350) will be about the same as a new 300 in a straight line race if that's what interests you.
Hey man realistically they are very close difference really is just the power delivery. Both are fun I was the four stroke kid growing up and I have 22 rockstar te300i she's dope fun and fast nobody that has ridden my bike would tell you not to buy one they are better then 450s in technical terrain but it's all skill level and technique. Any of the new ones man and you really can't go wrong
Faster in single track only because a 450 is too powerful and a guy has to ride it carefully. I have a 2019 crf450r that I made into a snowbike and wanted a summer bike, I got wrapped up in the hype of these 300s and like an idiot I bought it before riding one. In my opinion they aren't worth the money and if you've ever ripped a 450 this thing will disappoint everywhere except single track and technical terrain. I wish I would have got another 450 😔💸

And another thing boys nobody today seem to have the IQ do understand every time I two-stroke piston goes to bottom dead center it has just now compressed the intake charge as high of PSI as a 4-stroke does on that compression stroke now if you can continue with your attention and read my lips as the piston begins to travel to top dead center it will trap the already compressed mixture of gasoline and oil and force it into the combustion chamber where it is compressed again and again before it fires off and when it explodes is exploding with the power of an engine with Boost supercharged and before you can say I'm batshit crazy I was taught this by the world most famous tuner ever of all by the name of Pop Yoshimura I don't expect you to know as I was introduced to him personally add a Honda Elsinore 250 2-stroke School as it was pop Yoshimura who designed built and raced Honda's very first two stroke race bike and still a badass called the Honda Elsinore CR250R and the rest is history so don't you think he should know? Mine is an older with a Lectron carburetor and you can easily do 65 miles. TPI probably does 70+ unless you ride very gnarly terrain like lugs and giant rocks.
This is an advertisement, not a review. Nothing said about frequent piston seizures, broken subframes, failing Crankcase Pressure Sensors, or the 30 day warranty. 5 out of 10 TPI bikes in our group have seized since January. One outlier went 430 hours before a new top end. Some guys get good ones, some guys get screwed. The dealers are no help at all.
Well the official statistics by most accounts is that piston seizure happens in about 5% of bikes in the first 2 years. Appears to be a mapping issue icausing the bikes to run lean and seize in the US and Australian market. KTM has since recalled many of the bikes and listed the issue in their service notes. So hopefully its fixed for these 2022 models. I know 14 guys with the TPIs who have not had a single issue. Crank case pressure sensor issue was very common in the 18 and 19 bikes approximately 10% of bikes. Broken subframes were not listed in the service notes for the past 4 years which means less than 1% of bikes experience it.
But like you said. Some guys get great ones. Some get bad ones. KTM dealers her in Southern Africa are a huge help though.
Weirdly I recently heard of 2 people getting Yamahas that both seized in the first 40 hours a 125x and 250x. Very strange to have seen that happen. Just ba luck.
But my 1996 KDX 220 is still running strong and I do Hard Enduro every weekend 🤣
@@joshuavanzuydam5044 Glad to hear that TPI is working for your local conditions. Most of our seizures have occurred in winter conditions: temps between 30-50 degrees Fahrenheit. All of the pistons seized on the intake side, the cold side of the piston. The oil tank is not heated like snowmobiles. Upon disassembly, coagulated oil was covering the reed block. Apparently the thick cold oil wasn’t getting to the piston to properly lubricate it. I haven’t seized a piston in 50 years until I bought not one but 2 TPI bikes. The pressure sensors don’t fail completely or send an error code, but degrade gradually just enough to upset the mixture and cause flat spots and stuttering off idle. On the 2019 bikes there is only one, and it is a big hassle to gain access. The 20-21 bikes have 2: one for ambient pressure and one for crankcase. Only the crankcase sensor seems to go bad. They are the same part number. The subframes have been redesigned several times, usually to make them lighter and weaker. They cost over $500 and current wait time is a couple months.

@@stevenllewellyn8906 The factory has changed the map a couple times. The newest map gives the bike more oil at startup. I am sure that is the one installed on a 2022 model. All of our seizures occurred operating in 30-50 degree Fahrenheit temps. The oil is thick at these temps and doesn’t seem to get through the reeds well when the engine is cold. Don’t stress the motor until you get up to operating temps. Buy a digital coolant temp gauge and put it where you can see it. The TPI bikes run too cold unless you are loading the engine. We see 100 degrees Fahrenheit coolant temps
rolling down the mountain, even after an hour of operation. That is way too cold, and triggers a different mixture and more oil from the ECU. Consider blocking off one radiator with duct tape. Buy at least one spare Crankcase Pressure Sensor as a spare. They are frequently back ordered for months. About $40. When the bike starts running rough at light throttle openings change out the CCP sensor. This will often fix the problem. The Ambient Pressure Sensor is the same part but doesn’t seem to fail. In a pinch you can just swap both sensors position and this usually will fix it. If you race, buy a spare $500 poly amide carbon fiber subframe. These break frequently and my buddy had to wait 3 months to get a replacement. Try not to loop your bike. Landing on the tail seems to break it. I love KTM/ Husky 300’s, and have bought 4 new ones recently. I ride several hundred hours a year and am just sharing my hard won and expensive knowledge. I think my 2017 TE 300 carb bike was the best of the lot, and the lightest too.

I'm guessing you meant at least 93 octane no lead you find at the pumps and use the Husqvarna oil that they have special Blended just for this engine and never ever use anything else and you should be able to pull the head and look in the cylinder and never see a speck of carbon ever on any of the ports piston exhaust nothing and she will love you long time

How’s the reliability on these ?
My riding buddy had his ‘21 seize with less than 12 minutes on the bike. KTM was good enough to give him a replacement. It seized at 20 hours and they aren’t doing anything under warranty. You can’t find top end parts for them anywhere, which should tell you something. He bought a ‘17 (carb) and has put over 50 hours (70 total) on it now without issue.
Depending on what you read it’s because the tpi is too lean at idle and he let it warm up too long. Other things say he isn’t warming it up enough and it’s cold seizing, partly due to running much leaner than a carb at all settings. 🤷♂️

My 2020 tx300i did about 175 hours in 9 months with no issues that I didn’t cause by crashing it excessively.
My dads 2021 ktm 250 XCW hasn’t ran correctly in the entire time we’ve had it and has been in and out if ktm dealership 15 times and all that has accomplished is making it continue run terribly but in a different way.
His 2020 te150i runs perfectly.
TPI are exceptional if you get one that works but if you’re unlucky enough to get
a bad apple it’ll probably never get fixed because you can’t identify the problem.
Definitely worth the purchase just be ready to fight the dealer for a lemon law and don’t modify it until you’re sure it runs correctly.
I’m going with a sherco next to try something different but if it was any harder to find one I’d have just gone with another ktm/husky

And boy howdy what a wild ride we see about to have. AdBlue, lean running 4 stroke engines everywhere you looked, straight pipes almost banned(at least here in Romania) and of course, the plague. 1:20-1:39 who hired this guy? Not only does he make a big stink about both TPI and oil injection as if they are new things he says "completely different mixture".. Tell that to all the 2-stroke owners using injector-compatible 2 stroke oil in their pre-mix bikes. I would hazard a guess 90-95% of current 2-stroke oil on the market is compatible with both gas mix and oil-injected bikes, on top of that I have yet to see an oil that works in injected bikes but not in pre-mix bikes that is backwards. Early on when injection was a new thing then people who had injection had to make sure their oil they were buying was compatible for injected bikes but not vice-versa. You could always use oil for injected systems in pre-mix systems as far as I have ever heard

I have one of the Mukuni bikes (300xc). People hate the Mikuni. But with JD's jet block gasket and needle set, it works great.
I haven't ridden a TPI bike but this talk about having less of a hit does not appeal to me. I have a 500exc also and the mellow response is good for dualsport but I wouldn't want it on my 300.

If it ain't got a kickstarter then it ain't a true woods bike. It's a toy intended for large OV parks at best. My 450/530/690 will outride and out-start any of these toys. Husky saved what,,,,,,12 oz of weight by eliminating a kickstarter on a 2-stroke TPI. wtf guys.
