The BEST Off-Road Bike of 2021! | Husqvarna TE300i Two Stroke

  • We recently took delivery of our favorite off-roading machine, the 2021 Husqvarna TE300i. After some rain, we loaded up the Husqvarna and ventured out to the trails to have Donn Maeda and Jason McCune put the machine to the test. Direct injection, three hundred cubic centimeters, lights, and a kickstand, what more could you want on the trails?

I’m 63 and have had 4 Yamaha WR 450’s over the last six years. Still have two. One with a Rekluse for competition and another without the auto clutch for training. Did the Corduroy enduro on one last year with the cable clutch and never again. Getting a brand new GASGAS EC300 this spring for competition. Can’t wait! Definitely putting a Rekluse on it also. I tell my KTM riding buddies that I wouldn’t have a KTM because orange is just a colour, BLUE is a state of mind. Thankfully the GASGAS is red!

👍😎 I have a 2018 TX300, love it, has MXTECH suspension, the engine power and performance is fantastic. Best 2t I have ever had including the CR500. Haven't ridden a TPI yet but am sure they are great. PS: I love riding at that undisclosed area. You are fortunate to be able to stage on private property. 👍

Not sure why people keep calling these direct injection. Direct injection is a high pressure system that has an injector in the cylinder head, like modern diesels. This is just injection into what is basically a throttle body.

Had an auto clutch for 3 years on a 15’ 500xcw, and won’t go back to it. Hardly stall my 19’ 300xc, which is last year carb and kickstart . Lectron carb so never have any jetting issues. I don’t see myself ever needing a different or better bike for trail riding.

2 strokes are the best. Took my KTM 300exc 05' out a few weeks ago and now getting my old CR250R that is green stickered ready for the trails. Clutch control is key just ask Jarvis. Maybe do Rowher Flats to Lake Hughes for lunch and back.

Don, would you consider doing off road shootouts/ comparisons? Two stroke vs two stroke and four stroke vs four stroke off road /enduro bikes? 250s, 300s, 450s? You could also include other brands that we don't see too much of- TM, Beta, etc.... The offroad market is steadily growing and maybe it could expand your viewing audience as well? I know there are only so many hours in a day and the moto is your focus; however, would be cool to see.

I don’t like the tpi bikes because they take away the 2 stroke hit the carb bikes have. They’re taking away from the simplicity of the 2 stroke technology and reducing power. If you have a chance to ride a sherco 300 or a beta 300 they’re more powerful imo.
