Noreen’s teaching style is so lovely and clear. Very enjoyable and detailed but not verbose. She really imparted skill that you can learn only from experience or a great teacher.
I used this technique on the ldt and had great results ... used the same method on a woven men's shirt pattern and I now feel I can tackle any sleeve!!!. Thanks Noreen!
wow, why have not anybody told me this before. I start sewing last year, and I have taken online classes but no one ever said anything about this. Please make more video like this, and please show how you cut out a hole pattern. Maybe also how you pick you size and how to change it to fit your body. I think many with apple form with love that, since most pattern is not for apple shape bodies. Like me I have narrow shoulder a apple belly and narrow hips, not easy to make anything fit:) Again thank you so much for you video. (sorry for my bad english but it my second language so please bear with me) 😊
Thank you. We are so happy you found this video helpful. Feel free to look around our channel for more videos like this. Also I suggest you check out this page on our blog that provides so much more resources for beginner sewists: www.lovenotions.com/shop/sewingbeginners ~K
Yes I'd keep the sleeve on top. Looks like Noreen used a straight stitch and you can actually see the settings on the digital screen of her machine. If you don't plan to go over it with a serger, I recommend sewing with a stretch stitch like lightning bolt or zigzag. ~K
So glad you found it helpful!! I'll check with Noreen but that video is a bit old and pretty sure she's had a move since then. But maybe she'll remember ☺️ ~J
I made the Terra Tunic top with a V neck and followed your tutorial step by step to get the perfect sleeve..Unfortunately I am getting drag lines on the sleeves. I remade the Terra Tunic top with V neck and have the same problem. Do you have any advice please?
You may need an adjustment. I've seen adjustments for outward tilting elbows for example. You can do some research on the old trusty Google to see if you can figure out what is causing the draglines. Fitting books are also really helpful if you have any. If you post photos in our FB support group, I am sure lots of experienced sewists will chime in to help as well. ~K
Using a stretch stitch (varies by machine, but lightning bolt, 3 step zig zag, triple straight stitch are all good options) and adjusting the length/width accordingly. Sometimes it takes some playing around with but it's doable! 😊 ~J
To set in a sleeve, you'll sew it in the round instead of flat. With most knit patterns, you can sew sleeves in flat and with most wovens, you'll sew in the round. ~K
Noreen is the BEST teacher! Hopefully we see lots more of her tutorials in the future. Would love to see how she sews a neckband in the round.
Thanks Steph! ~K

@@LoveNotions Thank you! You're a great teacher and seamstress! 🙏☀️🐬🕊️. I'll be sewing my jersey short tomorrow. First one!
Yes I’d also like to know if you need some kind of stretch stitch on the armholes?
We recommend using a stretch stitch to sew knit fabrics. It will prevent stitches popping during wear. Lightning bolt or zig zag work great! ~K

Did you sew the seam with a straight stitch?
Probably a lightening bolt seam?
