Insightful video. What I liked best was that you explained 'when' the flat method should be used and when the set-in method should be used. I obviously prefer the flat method because it's easier and doesn't require the excessive easing that the other method does but I appreciate the clarity on when to use each method.
@@LTRLTrendFashnGuru I'm a new subscriber. Wondering if you've made any videos on finishing seam allowances with a serger/overlocker. Some people say they should be pressed open and others say they should be serged together and pressed to one side. And then there's confusion about whether seams should be pressed towards the front or back.

Very good question... and No, I dont have any vids on serger topics just yet (still kinda a new channel). 😁 I would be happy to clear up some of the confusion... serging is a matter of where the seam will be going, function and what fabrication. For example if you are making a princess seamed bodice, ideally, you would want these seams to lay flat, so this would mean serging separatly and ironing seams open. However, if you are doing something like an easy side seam on a shorts, or a shirt for instance, you can serge together and ALWAYS press towards the BACK (when its at the ss) - if you are pressing darts, you should always press darts facing towards the center front or the center back. You may want to check out my "100% Awesome Darts" video for pressing tips! For method #1 (flat) this method is easiest with sleeves that have a drop shoulder (nothing with a tight fitting armhole), best exmaple is a loose fitting jersey or like this dropped shoulder 80's shirt. Method #2 (eased) is the opposite and best used with tight fitting armholes with a lot of ease at the shoulder cap. Both of these methods will not apply to anything like a raglan sleeve that has no cap. Hope this makes sense and I was able to help? Best of luck!!! 💖

This is the Best Sleeve tutorial for beginners. So not complicated. That gather using the presser foot is pure gold. You are really funny BTW.
