I loved your break downs and always looked forward to them after finishing the episode! We’ll done my friend and continue doing these reviews spoiler free from reading the books just the like most of us! Keep it going you rock!
This adds so much content that's not in book that reading spoils very little. The first 3 and season finale ending are book accurate. Everything else is brand new.
The series is a blatant ripoff of the "Fallout" series. I'm going to assume that the author of this book series familiarized themselves with Fallout when it was released in 2008. This book series was published in 2011 and is too close to the stories of the Vault Dwellers in Fallout except for a few changes.
The first clue of the outside view being a hologram of some kind that they see when they go out, is that we always see the same birds flying in the same place.
yeah exactly. I never caught on to this till the season final as I thought it was just a Coincidence as I thought maybe the birds were traveling or had a routine of going to point a to point b.
I don't think it was the reason Holston took off his helmet, I think he took off his helmet because he realized his wife's body wasn't showing. He had to take it off to see where she was.
- The decontamination gas contains the poison that kills the ones who go outside by penetrating the body through the permeable tape. Juliette is not poisoned as she is applied a different type of tape - The green hologram is created to make the ones that come out wanting to clean the cam lens - When Bernard suspects Juliette knows about the hologram trick runs to the servers room to check if they're running properly (being them responsible for the hologram functioning). He just stares puzzled as they seem to work fine - When Juliette reaches the top fo the hill the hologram stops working loosing signal as it was not supposed to work as far as that place. Bernard does have nothing to do with that - As Juliette tells Bernard about the hidden tunnel door that George had found he seems to react as if suprised...I think not because he didn't knew but rather because he didn't expect from she to know that (he is supposed to be the admin of Silo number 18 and on the hard drive disk with the same number are the plans of all the Silo incluiding that door and tunnel. I deem he therefore should have known about that) - Just guessing but...The red light blinking on Bernard's master key with the number 18 could be some sort of call from another Silo admin(s). It's fairly possible that they may be connected in some way to report things, etc. And a wireless technology is to be expected.
spot on! but... in the moment the power went out, the green hologram was visible for a moment on the cafeteria screen (i assume on all screens) ... kind of strange that nobody saw it. what was that about?
@@BuBBa_CoD We don’t see them through Juliette’s pov, but only on the sensor in the silo. Given we know though the twist of the outside actually being just as bad as the sensor shows, it is very much implied that they are both indeed dead where you see them on the sensor. The hologram of a better world is seen when you first go outside, but it is a ruse. When Juliette went over to where the bodies were on the sensor, she grabbed at what was presumably a rock to her, but her hand goes through it, but still lands on something just below it. She had found Holston and Allison, but couldn’t see them both until she passed the barrier of the silo’s grounds. When she puts the sheriffs badge down on the “rock” that just cements those facts even more so. I really wish Holston was somehow still alive, but he simply wasn’t prepared for what was outside. Allison just didn’t know any better because she thought the hologram was truth, which is why she had signaled to Holston that it was okay. When he walked out he thought that his wife was right, the world outside was indeed safe, what they were being shown on the sensors was false and that his wife must’ve been alive so he naturally took off his helmet possibly thinking of all of this. Given he wasn’t prepared with the tape that Juliette had at the end, he was likely feeling the effects of the poison even before this moment, but at first he probably just chalked it up to a sense of euphoria and satisfaction for what he believed to be true. The tragedy of the circumstance was right when he took off the helmet because he would immediately be shown that everything with the hologram was false, that they are in world of ruin, and the wife he just thought was likely alive and loved dearly is actually dead on the hill just like the sensors had shown. His last moments were likely filled with despair, trying to reach his wife while the poison in the air filling his lungs. He got it way worse than Allison for sure since she probably still didn’t know that the hologram was a lie when she passed out.
Yes it is... Even in books. for 50 years I could get good hard sci-fy books - not so much anymore - I really dont read books anymore because most tend to try to be fantasy-Science fiction.
@@soldatheero It depends on what you like, but I am referring to HARD sci-fi. IE., aliens, future technology that goes fast and makes big explosions and such.
The crater-like formation of each silo surrounded by a berm must have been constructed so that the outside camera does not see the other silos. And the divet in each one has to be a cutout for stormwater drainage.
I took the divot to be a drive up access point from when they built and loaded the silos, but the berm is certainly so they can't see each other. I even looked to see if any of the silo cameras are pointed at each other, because one could assume erosion at a certain point. They all seem to be slightly off from one another.
@@jeffreynelson6601 well, then, they're all going to have to try to explain to their residents why the ghost lady keeps dancing around in front of their sensor camera, when they haven't sent anyone out "to clean" (or whatever they call it in their individual communities)
You're assuming it rains or that if it does, it does so to storm levels and degrees as to require drainage. Besides which, from an engineering perspective, that's not how you would drain a structure like that unless you wanted to wear away the berm over time.
The reason why the 18 key fob glows sometimes is probably to let Bernard know that another silo leader wants to communicate. If this is true, there probably is a wider governmental system in place which would be a huge plot piece for season 2.
All silos are connected via the big steel door george mentioned in his video. The water was also probably "not a problem" because you can walk through it, it's not that deep.
More like apple tv plus. Their devices are still a expensive jail(except macbook). But love the shows they picked up severence is best even better than silo & foundation (which is great too)
It's Apple's stupidity. Apple Tv can only be accessed if you have an Apple ID, and you can create Apple ID only if you have one of Apple products. So access to Apple Tv is limited to people who have Apple products.
I suspected it might be a hologram bc Holston couldn't see Allison's body when he had the helmet on but began crawling towards her when he took it off.
@@rawthe I think it was meant the other way around - the helmet is showing VR, Holston took the helmet off, then, saw his wife's body and crawled to her.
@rawthe I'm thinking it's one of the original xreators of the silo recording the video for archival purposes, talking about how beautiful it is, emphasizing how believable it seems
what the f is this series is all about ? first every body is told that outside is not safe for living okey got it then some bunch of nerds found out that outside now after so long is safe for living so they start diging the shit. okey this is also fine! seems logical and when they are send outside why the f.. they were shown a projection view of flourishing nature ? why don't let see these nerds reality why show them a projection ? let them see the truth.. what the f... is this make sense to any of us
@@JitzyJT Yeah, I like that, "someone got out" style. Another thing could be for the other silos to "cast" a broader WASTELAND "hologram" or whatever....
I think the obvious answer to Juliet’s survival is that the IT tape was permeable and allowed the gas to enter the suit. It probably only slowly poisons the person in the suit to allow them enough time to clean and try and walk out of the crater. We saw Bernard trying to rip off his helmet probably realising he was succumbing to a poison. Juliet’s suit was taped with Walker’s tape, it is not permeable to the gas.
I think it's more likely that the outside is poisonous instead of that gas. This is based off the fact of the dry/dead landscape. Not even grass is growing and no signs of any animals either.
i have a question if the previous memebers who went to clean died then why dont we see their bodies or skeletal remains in the last scene near the tree .... ???
я думаю, лента имеет токопроводимость, и человек умирает не от удушья, а от сердечного разряда.... а так как ей заменили ленту, что то пошло не по плану. Интересно что и бабуся с самого низу, многое знает...
Man, a show hasn't got me this hooked in ages! As a big Fallout fan, I'm loving it. Definitely something Vault-Tec would do! I agree, the massive steel door is news to Bernard and I wonder if curiosity will get the better of him too! He knows the most in the context of their silo but I'm not sure that he knows everything. Maybe he doesn't know there are other silos and thinks they are all that's left of humanity, hence why he's so ruthless to protect it. I think the weight of responsibility is his guiding light but no doubt he has questions just like everyone else. The way he looked at that disc, for me, implies he's holding back the urge to know more after his conversation with Juliet. His heart-to-heart with Juliet also shows that he's not a 'bad guy' as such and admits he feels the burden of keeping all these secrets at bay; he genuinely believes he's doing the right thing. Anyway... hope we don't have to wait too long for season 2!
who is indisputably the most important person in vault 101: he who shelters us from the harshness of the atomic wasteland, and to whom we owe everything we have, including our lives?
Dude Bernard is the Overseer. For one. but in this series, I didn't read the book, the Silos/Vaults has different meaning - metaphor, it represents our world the Earth, when she gets out she sees all other silos aka all other worlds which are accurately represented adjacent to ours, with the domes above and all seeing eye in the middle watching over everything not to mention holographic technology. The great wall she must cross to get to another world is analogy to the Ice Walls of Antarctica. When you read old books older than the Bible itself, like Rig-Vedas and Upanishads - Sanskrit, you will found out that our world is just a small part of a much bigger world.
From the moment Allison went outside I couldn’t help think that “decontamination gas” was actually a poison. I don’t think there is anything wrong with the air outside.
Wouldn't there be a problem with the air outside since the previous sheriff actually took his mask off and still ended up dying? Or was it because that poison already got into him and he was a dead man walking? Either way I'm excited for next season!
@@mariuszarszylo1476 , If the poison was introduced to his suit in the hallway cloud as many suggest his fate was sealed by the time he removed his mask.
I think they gave us a hint about the hologram in episode 3 when they switched the main generator to the backup. Then the screen in the cafeteria shown the saturated and colorful "real" outside world for a second. What I found odd then is that it was night at the time, but the colorful video was still showing sunny like in the middle of the day.
There's still a lot of questions like why didn't the mayor wanted anyone to see that if it was a lie to begin with🧐 is he playing the long game with baiting everyone
@@christiannieves9823 yeah, the hologram use case is a bit wonky to be fair. Why would it be visible only to people leaving the bunker, if the purpose was to always clean the sensor so that everyone can see how bad is outside. It goes against the principle they had in place for cleaning the sensor.
@@primusro I think the heads of the silos are not 'bad', they believe that are doing right. The beautiful landscape hologram on the helmet probably is just to make people pass peacefully.
At first I thought this show was slow, but I realised it was taking its time in world and character building which makes the second half of the series so much better, and the final episode is one of the best sci fi finales I’ve seen in a long time. The second season of this is going to be fire.
LOVE THIS SHOW (Smartly written, cool story, great lead character, good side characters, cool setting and mysteries, acting is very strong, no forced messages... 10 out of 10)
@imalwaysright yeah I see what you're saying but it's not "forced". It's done artistically and we'll written. so the viewer can make his or hers own connections
I had the impression that the image that Julia sees lost the signal when she crossed the ridge of the silo and that Bernard was not the one who turned off the signal!
No ,it was never made to be bigger because the cleaners are not supposed to live that long. They went way to fast over this so most people didn't got it (in the book its described better). What Walker and Jules figured out is that the tape that seals the suit is engineered to fail after a few min. Pretty much do the cleaning and die because the air really toxic. Walker replacing the bad with good tape got her several hours. The other thing they didn't explain is the display. Jules figured it out on the fly where the lie is. In the book they gave her and other clue which combined with the recoding helped her understand it. In the book that tech guy that helped her was her friend and he found a program discovered by Alison. That program was developer tool to make animated images (CGI program). That's is how they thout that the big display is a lie and why Alison thout about it as well (George didn't gave a HDD in the book , she used the recovery program she wrote to reconstruct deleted data from the servers). What happened was that the tech find out that the pixel density was all wrong. He send her and email in which he gave her the 4k resolution in pixels on a 8x2 inch display. That was program meant to. Making images on that display. Jules didn't figure out what it meant until she went out - just like the movie. However in the books , she put the 2 to figure it out. The other thing they made wrong was the message from Walker. They only put the correct "they are good in supply" but the rest didnt make sense in the move compared to the book. People in IT figured out long ago that people will just refuse to clean unless you motivate them. That is what the false display is for. People ware thinking that if they do the cleaning - the people inside will see what they saw. This is an other continuity mistake in the movie - it doesnt explain why. In the book the cleaners are actually given more material to clean , including a spare protective film for the camera. As part of the cleaning they have to put it on. This is where the deception happened.
@@mowtow90 Thanks you. Can I ask, what do you mean by "This is where the deception happened" at the very end when you say: "In the book the cleaners are actually given more material to clean , including a spare protective film for the camera. As part of the cleaning they have to put it on. This is where the deception happened."
@@mowtow90 - "cleaners are actually given more material to clean... This is where the deception happened" I don't get it - deception happened from putting protective film/plastic on the camera? You guys already said the outside is actually as bad as it seems. So what's the huge importance of cleaning the damn camera?
Remember the episode when they had to shut down power so Juliette could fix the generator? There's a moment as the silo powers up when everyone's in the common room, and the big screen flickers back on. There's a flash of the green grass, blue sky and trees etc then it reverts to the grey scenery.
Agreed - but I couldn't wait and bailed on waiting. Wool is a great read so far.... but I defintely think watching Think Story's take knowing he's not read the books kept me glued to the channel. But now I'm in the 'read the book' camp and not regreting it.
Knowing that Bernard was the bad guy in the books made his reveal as the bad guy in the show an actual surprise for me since it took so long for it to happen. I honestly though they were going another way with it.
After watching episode 1, I guessed the air in the suits themselves were poisoned. Good to know my theory wasn't alone in its reasoning. It's definitely possible that the "decontamination" chamber is, in actuality, a "contamination" chamber.
The entire time I was convinced the green version was real and the suit itself killed ppl via poison, bc Holston scrambled to take off his helmet. I was hoping Juliette would take hers off too, but I got bamboozled completely. I guess the poison was in the contamination chamber or maybe the outside air and the good tape is enough to keep it out. Still, I have to wonder if the outside air is breathable or not. I know Holston died even without his helmet, but it was already too late for him if the poison came from the chamber.
i feel like the tape protected her from the gas that they sprayed and she was expected to die before she made it over the hill and seeing the real truth
@@rosemathu5073 she definitely needs the suit but the tape played a big role I wanna know what was her plan when she spilled the water on herself they purposefully showed that scene lol
The gas is definitely sterilizing gas to prevent contamination from the outside environment. You will see this a lot in movies where people walk in and out of the lab chamber.
@@wrathybear that would be reverse. you do it when you come back from from contaminated environment. it's like washing your hands before you wipe your butt.
When Juliette told Bernard about the big door in the basement I had the impression he didn't know about it and was suprised. Did Bernad turn off the Vision Pro? I thought it just went off, because Juliette left the pre-programmed parameters. I assumed Bernard went to the server room to cut off the live-feed from the outside world. and please no book spoilers, thanks!
Bernard didn't cut off the live feed because everyone saw her walk over the hill. I think Bernard may have not known about the door because he looked more puzzled
Sure, Bernard is surprised but... maybe the reason is because Juliet knows the door too. We don't know if Bernard knows the existence of the underground lake and the giant excavator and the big door. Maybe he knows all that things and i'ts surprised that Juliet knows them too.
I agree. Tim Robbins is a good actor and was able to sell that he didn't know about that and being concerned, while also presenting that he was all-knowing to Juliette. I also agree that The image shut off because she was outside the influence of whatever computer was sending the image. Or that the image was only designed for things that went on in the crater.
I love the fact that you have not read the books. I had read the books but this series did a great job of enhancing the story from the book. That is a rare occurrence. I love hearing your theories from the viewpoint of someone who doesn't know the end. Good job.
I just binge-watched this entire show these last couple of days after finally hearing about it! Very impressed! I love shows like this that are intelligent, mysterious, well-acted, and have beautiful set designs and majestic music. Really enjoyed your analysis and some of the details you pointed out that I missed. Can’t wait for season 2!
Remember when the #18 key was lighting up one episode? I think they definitely have a way to communicate with the other silos hence the speak of "the founders" as like a big brother type figure.
Me too! I was really hoping she was going to explore that more, the last three episodes were just her getting chased around the silo, I wanted to see her figure some stuff out on her own before she got sent out!
@@JitzyJT I’m assuming she told Martha about the door, probably about the book, cameras and what’s actually on hard drive. BUT Bernard’s face made it clear that he was completely unaware of the door/tunnel, meaning he will be trying to find and seal it off before anyone (Martha, Shirley or any of Jules down deep friends) go looking for it. Crazy to think that there are things that even Bernard doesn’t know, which poses the question of if there are higher ranking people than him…up until now we thought he knew everything but maybe not! Love this show
@@RemedyLibraim guessing the water is a hologram like what Julie sees. Her boyfriend said in episode 9 in his video to Jules “it turns out the water isn’t a problem”. So I bet it’s a scare tactic but if you take the leap of faith you’ll fall through water hologram and land on the silo botttom.
Rebecca Furguson...wow! What a incredible and mezmerizing portrayal of her character of Juliette Nichols! As soon as Rashida Jones (also a great performance) left after E1, Furguson took over in grand fashion! Impressive!
I think the first hint we got to the ending is the fact that the leader is a mayor. Mayor implies it’s a city, a city implies there has to be a state with more city’s- completely flew over my head but it’s brilliant, I’ll read through those books fast af if they’re as thrilling, plot and character wise, as the series!
Only if one assumes their world view operates the same as ours. And i have no idea why you would assume or suspect that it is. Since no movie actually takes place in our real life world since no character actually resides in our world. Get it!?
I agreee. My first question was why mayor and not president. If ur a mayor that alone suggested multiple silos with multiple mayors but also suggests that there is a higher power. Perhaps silo one has the president.
I agree. In both shows they realize their reality is not what it seems and everything they thought was true has been manipulated to keep them complacent. Chilling concept, I hope it’s not predictive programming 😅
I agree with u you. They have very similar vibes of lies and deceit. I just hope severance comes out with another season soon, so that the wait for another season of silo becomes more bearable.
Super exciting series! Can't wait for season 2. At the end, seeing alle the Silos, I suddenly realized the Mayors chain symbolizes all the interconnected Silos...
@@AliElBaba That was metaphorical. He likened his duty of "keeping the Silo functioning" to that of an engineer like Jules, who literally does keep the Silo functioning
@@cinemahavenI imagine head of IT is the actual person in charge of every silo. IT HAS to know and is the only person who knows what’s happening on the outside and has all the cameras
I think the "she knows" Bernard said is about the tape - since he was so mad about it from the beginning - and the room he goes to, is to let other Silos IT team to know about Juliette
I've never been so enthralled by a season ender on any other show I've watched before. The myriad of silos in that wasteland. That city in the distance. Will she contact other silos next season? Truly wow and how many other silos have failed and which have survived? Trippy as fuck. Awesome show
I don't think that I'm capable of waiting to see what happens next so I will definitely be reading the books, George is the absolute goat of this series, he tied all the clues and cleared the path to her along the others, huge love for this series, a phenomenal work indeed.
I always love the idea of a cleaner writing letters on the camera using the dust to leave some clues rather than wiping it just to piss everyone off in the silo haha
I really thought that that's what she was going to do! I thought she was about to write something on the screen to let all watching know that what they've been told is all lies.
Continue with spoiler-free videos please, it is so much more enjoyable to have you breakdown the videos as if you just watched the episode with a friend and are comparing theories, details, eastereggs, and ideas. If you knew the future of the story from the book it would be impossible to not let that influence your videos and would taint everything. Thank you for all you do!
I think not reading the books would have some benefit, because the aspect of crafting and discussing theories together as a community is one of the most fun aspects of every new show. It was great for Westworld, even though people were way too good at guessing what's going on, and it was one of the things that made Lost such a pop-cultural phonemenon in the first place.
@@luxferre5546 Lost started out great but I'm not sure the writers even knew how to end it or really cared about an ending. The show From is really interesting though and shares one major cast member.
I’m still struggling to believe that Allison and Holston are dead. I kept thinking they would return to the show in the second season. Still not sure and this video really helped me because I missed some things. I kept wanting her to take off the suit!
Imagine reading the books and realizing after a few chapters that the main characters are dead and there's a new character (Juliette) taking over (without the back story)😂
@@theconfidentmusician2649 their bodies are there guys. When jules was going down from the ridge they show a 360 view in that scene we can easily figure out 2 bodies wearing same white clothes beside the tree.
Thanks for confirmation. I was actually going to re-watch the last show because I did not remember seeing any bodies. I was just so shocked that they actually killed them off! I love Rashida Jones. 😊 tempted to read the books.
This series gave me some serious Fallout vibes through out but the part that really gave me those was that last panoramic shot with all the other silos.
Ironically i was watching some Fallout videos on YT a few days before i discovered this awesome show. I was thinking that these silos would be some kind of genetic experiment labs or something like that until they revealed that the world outside really is a wasteland. Of course people live in the wasteland in Fallout, so there might be people in that ruined city that we saw at the end.
Jesus...this guy's perception skill is off the chart...He is very very good at noticing things that extremely hidden and you are not suppose to find it.Yet he found it....Bravo man.
One thing suspicious about the outside world being the cause of death is Bernard's comment to Sims about it not being too long, while they are viewing Juliette's cleaning. How did he have a way to predict where she should die or how long it should take? So it could be the smokey spray before they exit.
They poison the cleaner before they go out with that decompression chamber. while the faulty tape that they put on them allows that poison to kill the person within a certain amount of time. That's why he said that it should be any minute now, this proves that the outside is not dangerous to breath. The tape she got was from supplies which was from her friends down below that was not faulty. The fake happy scene was to make the cleaner feel at peace before the poison killed them from within the suit. Also when she reached out to pin the star on the previous Sheriff it was through the hologram, and she could see that.
The tape could have small perforations, allowing a small amount of deadly toxins to enter. Once the toxins are absorbed to sufficient levels, the cleaner would collapse and soon after, die. With faulty tape, toxins could be from the spray, or it could be from the outside air. Neither can be ruled out from this. We at least now know the suit itself isn’t filled with the deadly toxins.
@@0topon the hole in the wall is divot, and its behind the cameras so they dont see the rest of the silos, and like a man say the divot (hole) is to prevent any water flooding the area. I came here to say that but first wanted to see if any body else sad it :)
Why would you assume it rains in this universe? This isn't in our world otherwise i could go visit this place right now and see all the craters, silos, and sensors. So are you telling me this is all real somwhere in some desert?
Two weeks ago I discovered this show. When I saw the ending and the fact that season 2 is not out yet I screamed noo! I ordered a first book, Wool, and read it. I got hooked up, I bought the rest of the books. As first book has many answers to questions asked here I'll be silent. But I did enjoy this video.
Even though episodes 3 through 8 were a drag, episodes 1, 2, 9, and especially 10 compensate for them. Episodes 1 and 2 are very intriguing and episodes 9 and 10 are both intriguing and very thrilling. The final shot of episode 10 is incredible and has me desperate to watch Season 2. Hopefully, it'll be released by the end of 2024.
Don't know man, episode 3 with the engine was jaw dropping thriller. They shut down everything, Juliet was gonna drown, everything was about to blow up and everybody got a glimpse of the fake vr. However yes some of the episodes were really boring.
Well it needs to be better. All the episodes are 80% fillers. The show is too predictable and figured out the whole charade in episode 2. They to give fans more meat and not just crumbs and fillers. Let's hope next season is better. 🤞
3 episode is my favourite one of all. It explores Juliette's character as a leader and shows her bravery. Also it's such a great thriller, it was so tense. So yeah, 3 episode is by no means a drag
I also found it weird that they were "smoking" them before letting them out, my initial theory is that they there was poison in the suits they were wearing and thats how they killed them. But... The comment about the bad tape made me think that, the smoke was the poison and it was getting inside the suit through the faulty tape. And thats why Juliette survived.
I will say, usually decontamination is from out to in not in to out. So, make sense also what you say. However, I am not saying that the outside has toxic air too. Regardless, the tape saved her, this means that. People at the silo would have questions and such. Creating a possible next revolution. She goes over the hill letting the people know "there is still a chance" Meanwhile for the others that died before, this make judical "you see, it's toxic outside. Obey us"
Some great after analysis. I say don’t read the books and keep on with the great detail catching and exposure for us to think about. This has been an amazing series and each week has kept us waiting with bated breath. REALLY looking forward to more mysteries and more answers in season 2.
The dome you mentioned in one of your theories is actually an internal part of the silo, seen in the scenes where, at the start of each day, mirrors reflect light from the large daylight-simulating lightbulb in the middle of the central pillar. That would also make sense since domes are far more structurally sound than flat ceilings, which are used only in places where a dome would take up too much space. Also, if there was an earthquake or another natural disaster that would make the roof above the central staircase collapse, it would essentially kill the whole silo, whereas if there was a cave-in in some other room, you could just close it off. That's why the central roof must be built as strong as possible.
That is exactly what I wanted to write, that dome in that cad file is so small and covers only that portion of the Silo where all the staircases are, we also see some scenes with that dome changing light during the day in the first or second episode. We just don't see other rooms around that dome, the same way we don't see any other rooms in that cad, it's just a simple structure view with a base communication scheme in the position of boundaries of the Silo, which you can see on both sides... what is quite interesting here is that you can see the whole width in this view only at the bottom (tunnel view), where you also see the concrete foundation.
@@iMajdy also we see only 1 stair goin up... If this brakes, u can't get up Also where is the foundation... The Excavator.... There is no foundation.... But maybe the room at the excavator ( the ring Diameter) is smaller then the diameter of the silo above.
Also for survival.... Why they don't tell anyone they found water ? Under the silo. But maybe they have enough because of the steam coming up. And wheeeere the fuck is the Iron mine (prison) and why they need iron...
I just finished silo yesterday and daaamn, it was really good! As someone who havent read the books yet, my guess is that the part where they spray them in a chamber before going out contains some poison. Why then would they lit the chamber on fire after the cleaners have gone out??? Maybe all this time the outside is actually safe! Lol might be a stretch seeing how the outside looks like a toxic wastleland
I already miss this show and can't wait for S2. Really loved your videos too and being part of this community, will add my voice to the crowd saying no book spoilers.
I think she will enter silo 18 again and a big clue is that her love interest was punished to work in the mines so she will encounter him down there. It seemed too forced that kind of punishment unless it is a plot device to connect them again.
This show is great. Book must be to. That ending was perfect because give us the audience "cannot WAIT for S2" Give us question, mysteries and such. Bernard also took the hard drive again, seems he didn't recycle it. I bet after Juliet told him a few things he didn't know from the hard drive. As you say, I am also sure the IT guy will have a meaning later in S2. Also what about that huge metal door? Possible connections to other silos. I be "Us" Build those silos with connections in case 1 failed or emergency escape to the other one. Idk this serie is amazing
All I want to know is what happened to all the bodies on the hill. They're seen on the fake image, they're obviously dead because they got the crap tape, so where are the actual bodies?
@@aliengranpaI don’t think they actually died just passed out from the air they gotta be in one of the other silos for sure but kept away some where secret away from everybody else because she didn’t see there bodies but when the scene switched in the cafeteria and they showed on the monitor the two bodies like she said the projector was fake all along
I thought it was interesting that we couldn’t see any of the dead bodies from the final wide shot. Perhaps I missed them being so small but I couldn’t see any by the tree.
Exactly what I was thinking. Where are all the dead bodies of people who went out to clean? I never did see the old sheriff and his wife on the ground outside. You can only see them from the inside camera looking out.
@@ryankeith5139 Odd how she put the sheriff’s badge on his body though. Hard to mistake a rock or something for a body but surely they didn’t make a mistake with not showing any of them. I’m more of a “learned about the Titanic through DiCaprio” kinda guy.
i just rewatched the sequence a few times, it does look like the bodies might be there - just few white pixels in a z like shape, but very hard to see.

@@randallpayton7015 the show wasn't that "true". it changed many things up and added some characters. And the show was more of a mystery story than Wool was. Heck, Sims who is one of the main characters in the show isn't even an active character in Wool, he is mentioned by name only once.
I believe Bernard went to the server room coz the key lit red not to cut off the hologram video. Also Bernard told Sims that Nichols wouldnt reach the tree. This makes me think that the hologram stops when Nichols gets past the tree.
Imagine Jules walking up to another Silo “waving”. Them other people gon be like “who tf is that and how are they alive!??” that will be so chaotic lol

@@timserious7678 yes it can be ,but this idea creat an other problem ,so if that to be true those edges are formed by mud and rocks over time why alla the sensors are not covered
I think Juliet’s helmet works like Apple vision pro, the front glass is full of electronic stuff and you can see her face with the help of cameras sensors, and you can tell that when she starts walking towords the exit door you can see some distortion in the face, check the Apple vision pro you will see the same effect, anyway, that's why Juliet saw the blue sky with the birds
12:05 other option : the secret door is actually a door on the outside world and she might be able to find a passage directly back to her own Silo, and maybe find people ready to go out again with her in the future without the judiciary knowing
I can say that after episode 4 I decided to read the books. They are an excellent read and totally worth it. Much, much , much better than the show but I can say that they helped with the enjoyment of the show itself.
I read only Wool around 10 years ago. Honestly, I did not enjoy reading it that much and sometimes it felt like a chore, although it had its moments. I got tired of reading about the stair climbing constantly throughout the book. It sometimes felt like watching paint dry. We saw on the show the many scenes of climbing stairs, which were brief. But in the book reading page after page about stair climbing was overly mundane.
I'm on book 2 right now, and I've not seen the show. Just watched the trailer today, and I'm really confused. It seems like a lot was changed for no reason.
Why is it that every book ever written is always better than the shows? I call cap. And i hate book readers. Cause this is all you always hear if not constant complaining about shows or movies. Well i dont give a rats A$$. This is why i refuse to read. At least this way i know everyone sees everything the same rather than everyone having their own minds interpretations of things.
The image to her helmet is projected from the server room, I believe she reached the edge of the wireless reach. We know there is wireless as there is an antenna on the camera that was found behind the mirror earlier in the series. The tape used to seal her suit protected her from the gas in the airlock. I'm pretty stoked to see how the tunnels are all connected. I feel like the Silo was cut off from the rest years before by "rebels" who wanted to start their own society. I haven't read the books but those are my thoughts. Looking forward to seeing season 2!
Defo keep it spoiler free and just enjoy the entertainment & experience. At the end of the journey, you can always go back & clean things up by reading the books.
I think the reason they had a halogram of a green world is to incline the people that go out to clean to actaully clean the camera. Essentially once they see the life they want to clean the camera for the others, if it was all dead they wouldnt feel as inclined to show the others.
actually they would, because the pact says the reason you clean is to show people inside "here is safe, there is not" I don't get why they care either, because the person dies as shown to everyone inside, isn't that enough proof it's not safe? No need for the whole cleaning facade.
@@Dezzyyx The person don't die. They are killed with the poisonous gas which can penetrate the suit due to faluty tape as shown in the series. And the reason Juliette survives is due to the tapes replaced by Walker. There's something bigger to the story that why they clean or the founders expected everyone going out to clean it...idk ...must have to read the books.
@@bingukidstv6390I always thought the main reason everyone is cleaning the lense is because they want to show everyone that its actually green and full off life here. Because remember they dont know that there is a technology that can manipulate images so they probabsly thought the lens must have been dirty and thats why they cant see the grass and tree. Thats why they clean it even tho they never intended at the beginning. They clean it because they thought that way everyone could see it.
Apple hands down has the best shows right now along with Amazon Prime, they don’t have as many as say Netflix but what they do have is ALWAYS top notch.
Great synopsis- I never clocked the 6+6+6=18! @10:50 when you mention nothing is wireless in the silo, isn’t the Key Fob (18) that Bernard uses to open the server room wireless? It receives a signal to begin flashing. Just a thought! Great video can’t wait for season 2!
I have a theory that the IT tape contains some sort of technical component that allows them to make it look as though these people died when they actually didn’t. Every time someone exits the silo they trip, assuming, largely to do with the simulation in their helmet and not being able to see what’s on the ground. I believe IT will then use that image to freeze the picture to look as though the person died. Similar to how Hollywood uses motion capture to make non-human characters. I think the keychain lights up as a signal to other silos that someone is outside and to make sure they have a prerecorded projection going so that she can’t be seen by those inside. As a way of communicating amongst different silos.
No, I think more there is a higher leader or KI .. red = danger ... And the KI will kill a hole silo to protect the others silos... If 1 silo makes a revolution. The VR was maybe only in the helmet = advertisement for apple vision pro.haha The others really died there 100%> She let the sheriff star on the dead body from the old sheriff who died outside
Other silos can't see her , because of the wall around each silo.. blocks view... They don't see shit.... They don't knew where they are... Makes mind small .. no dreaming ... No revolution
My theory was that the poison was in the breathing apparatus. The smoke theory makes more sense now that she is still alive. Good breakdown - Thank You.
It has to do with the tape, that is the only difference between Juliette and the other cleaners. Juliette got Martha's tape instead the shitty IT tape they should have used, so the suit didn't fail. If the poison was the breathing tank, it would have killed Juliette too.
@@bztube888 Obviously, that's what @lawrenceredman1366 means. His theory was my theory too, until we see she survives, and I hadn't thought about the gas in the air lock as being the poison UNTIL I saw this YT video -- and assume the same thing happened to @lawrenceredman1366.
This show really had me hooked but something I was still wondering was, what happened when the sheriff took his helmet off? The theory of the gas being toxic before they leave would make sense but wouldn’t the body be viable after Jules vision went back to the reality? I’m super excited to see what happens next!

The series is a blatant ripoff of the "Fallout" series. I'm going to assume that the author of this book series familiarized themselves with Fallout when it was released in 2008. This book series was published in 2011 and is too close to the stories of the Vault Dwellers in Fallout except for a few changes.
The big metal doors must connect to another silo. & the big divets create a hill so the other silos can't see each other
The first clue of the outside view being a hologram of some kind that they see when they go out, is that we always see the same birds flying in the same place.
Yup! I think Becker figured this out and tried to take off the helmet, but it was too late for him because of the faulty tape
@@roach_iam Wouldn't taking off the Helmet just kill him faster?
That was mentioned in the previous Think Story
yeah exactly.
Juliette is not poisoned as she is applied a different type of tape
- The green hologram is created to make the ones that come out wanting to clean the cam lens
- When Bernard suspects Juliette knows about the hologram trick runs to the servers room to check if they're running properly (being them responsible for the hologram functioning). He just stares puzzled as they seem to work fine
- When Juliette reaches the top fo the hill the hologram stops working loosing signal as it was not supposed to work as far as that place. Bernard does have nothing to do with that
- As Juliette tells Bernard about the hidden tunnel door that George had found he seems to react as if suprised...I think not because he didn't knew but rather because he didn't expect from she to know that (he is supposed to be the admin of Silo number 18 and on the hard drive disk with the same number are the plans of all the Silo incluiding that door and tunnel. I deem he therefore should have known about that)
- Just guessing but...The red light blinking on Bernard's master key with the number 18 could be some sort of call from another Silo admin(s).

Kind of sad that the sherif and his wife are actually dead. I thought they might if made it out and been together the whole time
But did you see the bodies at the end ?

Obviously, that tape saved juliet's life. The end of episode 10 have me desperate and can't wait to watch season 2 .

I just binged it today…man, what an ending. Please keep this going past season 2…so much potential…the mf tape was the key all along.
I had the impression that the image that Julia sees lost the signal when she crossed the ridge of the silo and that Bernard was not the one who turned off the signal!
No, Bernard did something else.

Knowing that Bernard was the bad guy in the books made his reveal as the bad guy in the show an actual surprise for me since it took so long for it to happen. I honestly though they were going another way with it.
@@scy11a17 Is not.
Bernard’s fancy necklace and pin he wears represents the multiple silos.
After watching episode 1, I guessed the air in the suits themselves were poisoned. Good to know my theory wasn't alone in its reasoning. It's definitely possible that the "decontamination" chamber is, in actuality, a "contamination" chamber.
The suits were purposely sabotaged with bad tape so the cleaner would die when they got a certain distance from the silo.
@@Weapon12I can't believe the show explained that to people and yet they are still here guessing
Yeah see, I always thought the poison was in the suit. The fact that there was poison was never a question for me.
The air is fine, they poison them before they go outside thats very much obvious@@davidbodor1762
i feel like the tape protected her from the gas that they sprayed and she was expected to die before she made it over the hill and seeing the real truth
or maybe the outside is really poisonous and she cant survive without the suit
@@rosemathu5073 she definitely needs the suit but the tape played a big role I wanna know what was her plan when she spilled the water on herself they purposefully showed that scene lol
The gas is definitely sterilizing gas to prevent contamination from the outside environment. You will see this a lot in movies where people walk in and out of the lab chamber.
@@wrathybear that would be reverse. you do it when you come back from from contaminated environment. it's like washing your hands before you wipe your butt.
The suit wasn't sealed shut, the tape sealed it. Otherwise they do in fact die out there.
Vision Pro 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Sure, Bernard is surprised but... maybe the reason is because Juliet knows the door too. We don't know if Bernard knows the existence of the underground lake and the giant excavator and the big door. Maybe he knows all that things and i'ts surprised that Juliet knows them too.
I agree. Tim Robbins is a good actor and was able to sell that he didn't know about that and being concerned, while also presenting that he was all-knowing to Juliette. I also agree that The image shut off because she was outside the influence of whatever computer was sending the image. Or that the image was only designed for things that went on in the crater.
Maybe Bernard was trying to contact other Silos to give the judicials in those silos a heads up
I love the fact that you have not read the books. I had read the books but this series did a great job of enhancing the story from the book. That is a rare occurrence.
I love hearing your theories from the viewpoint of someone who doesn't know the end. Good job.
The gas from the airlock was poison. That’s why they were able to time when she was supposed to die but because of the tape she lived😊
The finale was awesome, up there with the Severance finale. Can’t wait for season 2!
Severance is good too!
Severance was 10/10 this 9/10

Remember when the #18 key was lighting up one episode? I think they definitely have a way to communicate with the other silos hence the speak of "the founders" as like a big brother type figure.
That's why I was thinking that they communicate with the light thing
Seriously this series is the most beautiful scifi I’ve ever watched! 11/10!
I was hoping to find out more about the water and big door. Hope she shared that location with someone before going to clean.
Martha knows
Me too! I was really hoping she was going to explore that more, the last three episodes were just her getting chased around the silo, I wanted to see her figure some stuff out on her own before she got sent out!
That’s not in the book! 🤯🤯🤯🤯
maybe that's what she said to Martha before the judicial walked in and arrested her
@@JitzyJT I’m assuming she told Martha about the door, probably about the book, cameras and what’s actually on hard drive. I just finished the series, the cast killed it and it was a masterpiece. Cant wait for the season 2. Apple always killing it!!
Rebecca Furguson...wow! What a incredible and mezmerizing portrayal of her character of Juliette Nichols! As soon as Rashida Jones (also a great performance) left after E1, Furguson took over in grand fashion! Impressive!
Unbelievably good performances from Ferguson, Robbins and Common. They’re so good in this show.
Silo and apple's other notable series, Severance, share a lot of similarities. Silo is kind of a post apocalyptic Severance. I have enjoyed both
I agree. In both shows they realize their reality is not what it seems and everything they thought was true has been manipulated to keep them complacent. Chilling concept, I hope it’s not predictive programming 😅
Silo is somehow similar to Attack on titan , people in a place for a long time and they are being lied to on how the world outside look like.
Severance better than Silo, although they are both good in my opinion
@@ARW442 a bit similar to "the 100" in my opinion
I agree with u you. They have very similar vibes of lies and deceit. I just hope severance comes out with another season soon, so that the wait for another season of silo becomes more bearable.
Super exciting series! Can't wait for season 2. At the end, seeing alle the Silos, I suddenly realized the Mayors chain symbolizes all the interconnected Silos...
I know Episodes before that there could be more Silos the Name is a Trick too "Silo" 😂
"How creepy would it be if in season 2 we get to see a silo which is filled with skeletons?"
You were on point there, mate!
It was a 10/10 show. I am really curious about season 2.
The fact that they keep an IT guy as the head of the silo tells you what the silos are all about.
Storing old laptops!! LOL ;-)
But he said he was an engineer towards the end ? So he is both an IT and an engineer ?
@@AliElBaba That was metaphorical. He likened his duty of "keeping the Silo functioning" to that of an engineer like Jules, who literally does keep the Silo functioning
I believe beeing the head of IT is just his cover. It is only towards the end that Jules finds out that he was in fact running the entire Silo
I highly recommend you read the books. So much better in every way. However, George is not nearly as prominent in the books.
what book should i start reading to follow up???
@@jonbatin822 the entire trilogy
I always love the idea of a cleaner writing letters on the camera using the dust to leave some clues rather than wiping it just to piss everyone off in the silo haha
I thought about this. If it was me I would write “safe” or tape over the sensor.
I really thought that that's what she was going to do! I thought she was about to write something on the screen to let all watching know that what they've been told is all lies.
She should just put the sheriff badge with the "truth" side in front of the camera.
Very ITS a plothole or why her dad she did Not told she will eventually live outside
I thought in the first episode that Allison should have mouthed something like "it's beautiful up here"
Continue with spoiler-free videos please, it is so much more enjoyable to have you breakdown the videos as if you just watched the episode with a friend and are comparing theories, details, eastereggs, and ideas. If you knew the future of the story from the book it would be impossible to not let that influence your videos and would taint everything. Thank you for all you do!
Yes sadly with knowint all the enjoyment IS less 😢😢
I think not reading the books would have some benefit, because the aspect of crafting and discussing theories together as a community is one of the most fun aspects of every new show. It was great for Westworld, even though people were way too good at guessing what's going on, and it was one of the things that made Lost such a pop-cultural phonemenon in the first place.
LOST was so awesome
@@luxferre5546 Lost started out great but I'm not sure the writers even knew how to end it or really cared about an ending. The show From is really interesting though and shares one major cast member.

It's the tape. IT's tape is engineered to fail, so he knows roughly how long they have to survive before the tape fails and the suit loses it's seal.
@@digitalbarrito3555 Got it.
I thought it was some type of an electrical field disrupted by the badge
The tape could have small perforations, allowing a small amount of deadly toxins to enter. Once the toxins are absorbed to sufficient levels, the cleaner would collapse and soon after, die.
With faulty tape, toxins could be from the spray, or it could be from the outside air. Neither can be ruled out from this. We at least now know the suit itself isn’t filled with the deadly toxins.
This ending was incredible! I figure the divot of the craters is to prevent any water flooding/pooling around the entrance and sensor.
I doubt it, you can see in the end a hole in the wall. I think it is more to prevent the silos from seeing each other.
@@0topon the hole in the wall is divot, and its behind the cameras so they dont see the rest of the silos, and like a man say the divot (hole) is to prevent any water flooding the area. I came here to say that but first wanted to see if any body else sad it :)

Absolutely fantastic. It's been a WHILE since I've invested my time on a tv show.
Watch squid game.

And thats why Juliette survived.
what about poison in the air that could be just as likely
@@Dezzyyxbut she was talking about outside being safe I swear
I will say, usually decontamination is from out to in not in to out. So, make sense also what you say. However, I am not saying that the outside has toxic air too. Regardless, the tape saved her, this means that. People at the silo would have questions and such. Creating a possible next revolution. She goes over the hill letting the people know "there is still a chance" Meanwhile for the others that died before, this make judical "you see, it's toxic outside. Obey us"
I always assumed they put poison directly into their backpacks. But I guess there would be no need for faulty tape...I just realized right now 😂
Some great after analysis.
Ye windows must be fake ... Roof is 100% concrete ( half ball) round is stable
If this brakes, u can't get up
Also where is the foundation...
Silo had a slow start but stay with it.. So worth the effort
cant wait for season 2
Best 2 episodes were the first 2. Or until the first sheriff died.
Saw the ending scene 10 times. Still got goosebumps.
Omg that was a finale 😭😭😭😭
I just finished silo yesterday and daaamn, it was really good! As someone who havent read the books yet, my guess is that the part where they spray them in a chamber before going out contains some poison. Why then would they lit the chamber on fire after the cleaners have gone out??? Maybe all this time the outside is actually safe! Lol might be a stretch seeing how the outside looks like a toxic wastleland

What a brilliant series. Hopefully we dont need to wait too long for season 2.
I think she will enter silo 18 again and a big clue is that her love interest was punished to work in the mines so she will encounter him down there.
It seemed too forced that kind of punishment unless it is a plot device to connect them again.
Yes I believe how they kept saying lukas was analytical is a way to foreshadow him maybe finding a way out of the mines and into other silos
This show is great. Book must be to. That ending was perfect because give us the audience "cannot WAIT for S2" Give us question, mysteries and such. Bernard also took the hard drive again, seems he didn't recycle it. I bet after Juliet told him a few things he didn't know from the hard drive. The show is a very "true" rendering of the books, which I'd read 6-7 years ago (and thought it would be ripe for adaptation).
You only need to read the first book Wool to find out. Season 1 of the show covered only the first half of Wool.
@@randallpayton7015 the show wasn't that "true". it changed many things up and added some characters. And the show was more of a mystery story than Wool was. Heck, Sims who is one of the main characters in the show isn't even an active character in Wool, he is mentioned by name only once.

I can say that after episode 4 I decided to read the books. They are an excellent read and totally worth it. Much, much , much better than the show but I can say that they helped with the enjoyment of the show itself.
Is it the outside poison that kills people or the inside ?, I don't care if it is a spoiler
That's a fantastic guess!
The books are outstanding, I highly recommend them.
The camera was a wire hookup she ripped it off the wall. Sure there may have been an antena too but it was 100% powered by wire electrical.
Defo keep it spoiler free and just enjoy the entertainment & experience.
At the end of the journey, you can always go back & clean things up by reading the books.
Yes, they always clean. 😄 (Except Juliette of course.)
I think the reason they had a halogram of a green world is to incline the people that go out to clean to actaully clean the camera. Essentially once they see the life they want to clean the camera for the others, if it was all dead they wouldnt feel as inclined to show the others.
actually they would, because the pact says the reason you clean is to show people inside "here is safe, there is not"
I don't get why they care either, because the person dies as shown to everyone inside, isn't that enough proof it's not safe?

The camera they find has an antenna on it
Good point, the fob is obviously wireless.
@@mcamp9445 yeah there is wireless technology in the sile. However it probably is for the up toppers and is a secret.
Huge reach. And sounds stupid.
Bro so glad i got recommended the trailer then this video after i finished the series. What a treat.
This is also why I believe we can’t see any bodies when the picture pans out. Apple wouldn’t make a mistake like that
No, I think more there is a higher leader or KI .. red = danger ...
And the KI will kill a hole silo to protect the others silos... If 1 silo makes a revolution.
The VR was maybe only in the helmet = advertisement for apple vision pro.haha
The others really died there 100%>
She let the sheriff star on the dead body from the old sheriff who died outside
Other silos can't see her , because of the wall around each silo.. blocks view...
They don't see shit.... They don't knew where they are... Makes mind small .. no dreaming ... No revolution
Thats what I thought at first but it’s pretty clear the tape switch saved Juliette from the poison gas before going out
@@Jiggy609 She is coming back in over Silo 11, and then over the Door in basement :D
Great theories! I think the books are great but hearing you theorize without having read them is also very entertaining for me!
This show really had me hooked but something I was still wondering was, what happened when the sheriff took his helmet off? The theory of the gas being toxic before they leave would make sense but wouldn’t the body be viable after Jules vision went back to the reality? I’m super excited to see what happens next!
ill say this. just type in the internet about the story of silos, tbh show became so slow and boring for me i had to know and i watched with more interest what is this all about. i knew there was other silos etc. show was good for 3 epa, later literally soap opera. her going out should be in 7ep max.
@@whoishuncho5048 this is your experience. others prefer to theorize and predict rather than. rush and spoil themselves
@@murabula2092 i only did it cuz show was soooo slow, so little "meat". it literally became soap opera after ep3. huge potential wasted
