Thank you for your videos and the way you present your hikes. I appreciate the lack of music while you are hiking, your commentary, and being able to be on the trail with you for some of your journey. This trail in particular is going on my to-hike list.
I have been so excited to watch this video from you! I can’t wait to show my American boyfriend. He doesn’t believe that Australia can be so mountainous and epic for hiking. And we could camp without being afraid of bears/mountain lions/moose like we are here in the Rockies! This makes me so stoked to get back to Tasmania
I'm still not sure how you only have 7500 subscribers with content this amazing! HD camera, great edits, incredible adventures and perfect story telling. Your channel will blow up once the gem is discovered! Keep inspiring us Cam!
Thanks for watching! Episode 2 of the Tasmania adventure(The Port Davey Track) will be up in a couple days. Ps. The drone footage in this video was not filmed by me. I’m aware of the restrictions. 👍
Another amazing video Cam. Really enjoyed this. Such beautiful scenery. Great editing. Your positive easy manner makes a great host for the hikes you guide and film. Tasmania is on my bucket list. Thanks again bro for the time you have put in to make this video. You are a legend 🙌
Amazing to watch this Tassie series. This is something I will never be able to do but I feel lucky to be able to watch along with you and see my home State. There were some very hairy bits there coming down the sides, I had my heart in my throat! Thank you for sharing. 😊
Thanks for sharing this amazing hike in a beautiful country!! It’s very inspiring as I sit here planning out my ‘23 hiking adventures!! The dip in the lake looked super cold, but very refreshing!!! Looking forward to your Davey trail hike!!
I did Western Arthurs in 2007, early Nov, we were first party since the autumn, it's just so hard, no one used to do it in winter months. Had amazing weather. It is a visual feast. Oh it is so hard. 12hrs to do 4km linear distance. Scary. I'm still living in the afterglow of the spectacular scenery. If you're not up for insane, you can go in to the first two nights and return, which was what locals were doing behind us. That way you can use a good window of fine weather. Also it was drought for us so no boggy plains to sludge through.
Fortunately, I had much better weather when I did the traverse back in March. Good stuff, although please keep in mind that drones are illegal in Tasmanian National Parks. Cheers!
@@dylannichols1Unauthorised drone usage on PWS administered land is a huge issue here. A lot of interstate/overseas visitors don’t realise how restrictive the rules are here. Commercial filming permits are pretty hard to get.
Someone should invent telescopic walking poles so they can be stashed on a pack when climbing. Watching you climb and carry poles looks uncomfortable and unsafe. I like to have both hands free when climbing especially when I'm carrying a big pack. Awesome video !
The Wild South West Coast is amazing !! Most tourists visit the East Coast of Tassie . This is raw wilderness at it’s best and you did so well hiking through all that wilderness .
We've really enjoyed coming across your video and channel. Great work on the hike and the videos! We're planning to set off on the South Coast Track next Feb so this and that specific video were awesome. Wondering what the tarp is that your friend had and also your the ground sheet that extends beyond the tent? Keen to get something similar. Thanks!
Such stunning views!! All the muddy walks and risky climbs pay off! I just moved from New Zealand to Australia. I like solo hiking, I was a bit scared by the snakes, kangaroos, and lizards for my first hike! But I need to keep going! Also, please feel free to try Radix Nutrition meal next time, it’s way better than Back Country!
Haha, wonderful! I actually worked for Radix for 5yrs before moving to Australia for another job. I just love the product concept. New Zealand is beautiful, too! Thanks for the videos and it is really inspiring! You take care and all the best in 🌸😎🤟2023!
Just to settle your nerves for future hikes, I don't think I've heard of any cases of lizards or kangaroos harming people, and if you watch where your stepping snakes won't give you any problems. And welcome to Australia
This is awesome!! Great watch. Now I want to do it. What are some other less technical hikes around Aus I should get under my belt before attempting something like this?
This is an awsome vid, dont care what others say. I did the PD last Jan with my partner, was supposed to continue on to the SCT, then do WAT, but had to take a sick certificate at Melaleuca and fly out. Going back in Feb. Yeah, I'm old , just to add to the excitment , Love your work!
So, you may have used Drone footage, I obviously didn't see that, was too involved with the intensity and beauty of your filming. You've done a great job, can't wait to do this wander. Cheers
epic video!! I felt dizzy just watching some of the footage and felt anxious seeing where you had climbed so I know I couldn't do this trek hahaha!! but thank you for "taking me there" on your journey
every time you chucked those carbon poles I thought they wont last long doing that, was surprised they lasted as long as they did. actually cant believe they didnt crack on the first one when they audibly smacked the side on those rocks.
Hey Cam! Your video and series is a work of art, was just wondering how the climb down to Oberon from the ridge compared technically to other similar sections on the track? Went to Oberon and back with a mate last year and am thinking about doing the traverse some time soon.
Awesome video! How much water did you need to take? The spots you filled up in was it all drinkable or were you using purifiers? Also what shoes were you wearing? Looked like normal runners 🤙🏼 Cheers mate
Trail has some markers and lots of rock cairns in tough to follow spots. Mostly had no issues navigating but had to use the gps map on my phone a few times for sure.

This scenery is just staggering! I can hardly believe it. Thankyou! And good job!
Thankyou!
This production is simply insane my friend. Such a breathtaking cinematography! Truly amazing work!
I appreciate it mate, a lot!!

I was wanting a swim the entire time I was up there so was lucky to have a 'warm' enough day to do it. So worth it!
This one is def my fav of your vids! The head mount for the GoPro is awesome!

Probably should of made it more clear that I didn’t film the drone footage. It was obtained for the video.

INSANNE TRIP!!! the distance alone is so impressive, let alone the difficulty, the views though are so worth it.
Thankyou man!! Worth every step 🔥
Awesome video, can't wait to see the rest of the trip. Did you do a guide as well? Things to pack, prepare, etc? I'd love to do this in 2023
I haven’t made a guide as of yet but I could put together a video for sure. Thanks mate.
I was wondering about this also! Have read a few things, but always love to hear what other people found worked for them. Amazing video!
Great video of the western Arthur’s hike. I think probably best shows the fine detail of the hike better than any others I’ve seen.
Thanks Cam for video 🥰🥰absolutely loved it mate , looking forward to seeing more regards Rolf
Thanks Rolf!
Great POv footage. I feel like I'm walking it (and climbing it) all over again
Thanks mate!

Well done Cam. Hope you and Locky enjoyed the food resup from the old boys from Westy Aussie. Brutal weather and mud, good job mate.
We definitely did thanks mate!
Brings back lots of memories from my friends and I 2002 hike, amazing how much you forget as well. Looks like weather was pretty similar, hahah.
Great video, would love to do it one day myself.
Thanks for not filling the video with music either.

Never realised how sketchy that trail was, but looked like so much fun! What an epic adventure, looking forward to the next 🔥
Super sketchy haha the camera can't even capture it!!
@@CamBostock should’ve thrown the GoPro down like the hiking poles, it’d capture it then😂😂

The wooden trackway and decking really adds to the natural grandeur.
Poles aren't much use at they? Hands needed for scrambling most of the way as I recall
Yeah I regretted bringing them haha. Broke one accidentally because it got it the way... 😂
This is awesome!! Great watch. Now I want to do it. What are some other less technical hikes around Aus I should get under my belt before attempting something like this?
Mad respect to you for this trek. What time of year did you do it? (and is the weather ever nicer?!)

This is a dream traverse. Sick vid!
Found you on instagram, amazing videos, loved this one! Keen to do it myself!!
Thanks mate, definitely do it!
Reminds me of the Stirling Ridge Traverse in WA except taken to the extreme, amazing!
Yeah same! The Stirling ridge is a tiny baby version of the Western Arthurs
Nice one Cam, awesome. Just missing your iconic yellow jacket.
Unfortunately the jacket has been retired 😩
I still have it though, stored away for prosperity 😆
This is the sort of place I'd kill to be able to hike but I am unfortunately absolutely terrified of heights.
Absolutely loved watching this ! Thanks for sharing your hike ✊🏼 I’m looking forward to doing the WAT myself. What shoes did you use ?
Hey mate. You’ll love it, I wore Hoka Speedgoats

Love it!!!
I plan on doing this next year with my mate, quick question, is the trail visible for the entire track or Western Arthur Traverse?
How are you able to get your tent not wet when setting up while its raining heavily?
It does get wet haha. Not much can be done
We did the hike probably a few weeks before you (late November / early December 2022). We also stayed an extra night at oberon
how good is it?!!? I need to go back
Only Australian can ask if the snow is cold 🤣 Great video guys, awesome adventure!
Kiwi tramper here - huge respect to you guys! This is a stunning video of an incredible hike! 🏞️⛰️🏕️

Hoka Speedgoat 5s got my shoes.
The water was all pure and drinkable but we still purified to be safe
magical !!thanks for the video. Does it has to be 5 days?
No, it can be slower or faster
Steepness hardly shows in photos, so for this to look so crazy steep it must have been much more hectic than it looked !
Haha so true
Can you give a detailed video about all the things you had to pack?
I can do that! Might take a while as I’m currently overseas 👍
That was a sketchy hike at 2x speed 😂 love the look of Tassie!
Haha I felt like I was going in slow motion out there most of the time to avoid falling so 2x speed is probably more realistic 😂😂
Frkkk. You guys got some Kahuna’s. Sketchy shit. Great vid.
Awesome video mate, next time in tassie I'll be doing this! (Hopfully) what time of the year was this?
This was a couple weeks ago - beginning off December. 👍
@rob.parsons is this any different to your wild pursuits?
Can you do a gear list for this trip please?
Hey mate nice video, how hard is it to follow the track can you get lost easily?
Epic my friend 👏🏻
Thanks Harry

Great video you have inspired me to go here
Plan to do this one
May i know how many kg is all yr thing
And what kind of food u bring on the trip??
So awesome! Solid effort guys, definitely looking forward to picking your brain when I see you 😂

Love this! ❤
I want to start hiking but don’t know how to start or what I need. You should make a vid about starting out
Alright I’ll do that mate 👍
How heavy was ur pack ?
Amazing ❤
Are you allowed to use a drone ?!.
I gotta do this before I die
Is your friend Locky from Survivor??
Yeah
What season did you go in? I was hoping to do this hike in early june
This was early December
Hey mate did you end going in June looking to go in August. How’s it in winter
Any chance to encounter a wild animals?? Bears, mountain lions?
Australia has no bears or lions. In Tasmanian hikes you are most likely to see
snakes, wombats, kangaroos, quolls, tasmanian devils and if you are really really really
lucky, a Tasmanian Tiger.! ;-)
Dont throw your poles down the track haha
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉❤❤❤❤
Great video! I’m doing this is Feb. cannot wait!!
Good luck! You’ll love it
Mate did this in 4 days I said your mad did you stop and see it and soak it in lol 🤣🤣🤣
I was born in tasmania
Interested in your choice to not wear snake proof gaiters or leather boots, these are generally staples in the south West.
Only saw 1 snake and it was on the Western Arthurs.
Well done! This is the way to make videos.
Thanks mate
Great stuff😊Thanks.
