I’m 16 and I did this walk in early December 2021 and it was pretty extreme. But it was all worth it. Best views in the world. Great video also. Captured very well
Thanks Elliot! February has the least amount of rainfall so hopefully you have some good weather. The Eastern Arthurs is now open so that's something extra to consider
@@zelliot Yep, the extra food weight would be a killer especially over the scrambles. I've been pondering an EAT/Feddy ascent next year myself but we'll see
Pretty challenging some parts looks dangerous, but the views and scenery is spectacular! I love your documentary looks like professional, love the edits!
Awesome cinematography, well done. Loved it. I did Lake Rhona in the Southwest Tas recently (I'm from Brisbane but grew up in Tasmania) and I have been researching other hikes in the Southwest. Thanks for sharing this.
We enjoyed the b-roll bits building up to the hike! What was that floating in the air at 5:46? "Snores and farts like an animal", LOL 😂 Whoa, those are some legit scrambles!! We almost fall on flat ground from time to time ourselves! 😎 Such a cool shot at 15:57
These last two years haven't been conducive to planning a getaway. However, things are slowly returning to normal now so you should get out on the trail!

Woah, incredible footage quality my friend, so wonderfully cinematic! Those timelapse shots across the lake are just stunning! It looks like the perfect place to explore for a few days, some tough terrain but most definitely rewarding! Great video and new supporter here for you my friend!
Definitely some beautiful scenery there mate. Well done on completing that tough trip. I loved the video and your edit was on point. Kept me hooked right to the end.
This definitely seems like a challenging experience just from watching! I can't imaging how hard this must have been in person. Some of those rock pass throughs seemed a little sketchy! But the views, scenery and nature there were amazing!! I loved the timelapses that you did - so pretty. This is definitely not a hike I could see myself doing!!
How long did it take you to prepare for a hike like this. It definitely seemed intense. And glad you ended the trip when you did, knees hurt, feet hurt, out of food and toilet roll lol. Oh and that would've sucked for me to be in a tent with someone snoring. The worse lol!
Hey Kita, I was already reasonably fit and setup with gear which made the planning phase much easier. I was doing a fair bit of cardio from about 2 months out from starting the hike. Thanks for watching!
Love a good hiking video. What gorgeous topography! Really enjoy the nature in this video. You guys have a good vibe on camera together. Oh that sunrise! God damn those views! Well done guys. This video was amazing. What an adventure
Don't need NZ this is wilder and amazing country .... good to record for posterity and showing your children, this is what life is about. Good resolution
That's a great question! I would love to run this experiment on my next hike but since I wouldn't be filming I would have no way to prove my findings. Furthermore, if a RUclipsr is not being filmed while bushwalking it's highly unlikely to be a RUclipsr and is probably just a regular bushwalker. Is this a trick question? 😉
@@haydenwalton2766 I usually take one on the off chance I need the balance but prefer to hike without them tbh. Anyway, jokes aside I hope you enjoyed the video
You'd expect to receive more rain than our March traverse but sometimes it's just luck of the draw. You might have perfectly clear days or snow. If you're comfortable with scrambling in the wet and have all the right gear I'd give it a crack
Walks like the Eldon Range, The Old River route to Federation Peak, Lake Rhona to the Lyell Highway, and others make the Arthurs look like a walk in the park. Anyone who thinks the Arthurs is Australia's most challenging walk has got no idea.
I’ve done sections on plenty of walks tougher than any day in the Western Arthurs. But they were all through untracked land fighting nearly impenetrable scrub. You can’t really compare untracked walking with ‘official’ routes like the WA - completely different beasts. That said, the scariest time I’ve spent in a tent was at High Moor when a huge storm blew in just after dinner. And in the days before the luxury of tent platforms too. Something I hope I never have to experience again. Great video and I only wish we had such good weather when we did it over 30 years ago now.
@@andrewgriffin926 Thanks for watching Andrew. With perfect weather like we had it's hard to say we had the "proper" Arthurs experience, but the views were definitely exceptional.

If a RUclipsr is not being observed on film they cease to exist in time and space. It's the attention seeker's version of the double slit experiment
