The most coherent person I hear in this "raw world". I am always grateful to have come to you because I was living within this prison of dogmas and beliefs and, exactly, defending without feeling in full health, even more so due to the emotional aspect of believing in this belief system and living in an extremely restrictive way, or in fact, I stop living because I constantly have to think about food and often deprive myself of programs and social interaction because of this. Your comments were in line with my physical and emotional feelings (I lost 2/3 of my hair, still arguing that it was part of the detoxification stage. Crazy!). And today, combining vegetables and beans, chickpeas, and cooked lentils, my mood really found balance and my mind, freedom. Thank you for your work. It was and has been very important in my journey and search. Gratitude

I used to think that too - cooking will kill you. Now I eat raw in spring and summer months and during winter I just cook. I have also increased protein a bit. Feeling great! My approach to diet changes when I observe my body and adjust. The only thing certain for me is never eating meat and animal derived products - I don't do it for myself.

Thank you Eva. As a holistic nutritionist, I realize the importance of getting sufficient macronutrients. I did a year raw vegan, mostly fruits and herbal supplements and yes it did help shrink my thyroid nodules. Now I’m starting to incorporate cooked lentils to consume more protein. I had a hard time eating sprouted lentils. As a 58 year old lady, I want my body to be as strong and healthy going forward. I recently subscribed to a raw vegan on RUclips (who things he looks amazing at 50 😉) and am so disappointed with the lack of solid advise he gives to his members and I feel his services are a huge money grab. Keep up the great work Eva. You have earned my respect.

I am VERY grateful for your message and for actually saying these things out loud 🧡 It really needed to be said. Unfortunately there are influencers (money hungry? narcissistic? who knows) who make you think that there is something wrong with you if don't do some 100 day juice fast and if you fail - you are weak and apparently need expensive coaching. And especially for those who have/have had eating disorders and think they need to cleanse to remove so called mucoid plaque, such dogmatic information will almost likely cause a binge, making the person think they have failed their health, keeping them in a disordered eating loop and blindly following such influencers. Or others who claim you will have food freedom if you only eat from a list of foods that you don't associate with guilt (or when in doubt just eat fruit). No thank you! I'm done with the guilt trips. Much love Eva

I couldn't agree with you more regarding the dogma and almost obsessive behavior around some diets. Brenda Davis talks about needing more protein as us ladies age (I'm 57) and brought out a fantastic book this year called Plant Powered Protein. Lets do what works for us and be able to adapt and adjust as required.

I’m just now (this year) altering my lifestyle… for years being high fruit and juice raw vegan and detoxing made me an internal germaphobe and OCD tendencies. I naturally struggle with perfectionism and the dogma fit right into that and I’ve been working through it. You are correct, unfollowing the influencers that make you feel like anything but what they believe is considered the worst thing possible for your body.
I had to get past a lot of fear that I was taught from all of these raw “leaders”.
I once had someone in the field tell me that I could manage to lose 10lbs and I was 85lb after extreme fasting at the time ! (This was 5 yrs ago)

I can't do mostly fruit. I love my veggies more than anything. And I love the freedome to have some beans and lightly cooked foods in moderation. I do enjoy fruit, more than ever, but for me, I can't do all/mostly fruit, nor can I do the high juice diets. But I do want to get into making my own green juices. BTW, I don't see protein as a taboo subject at all. Maybe because I'm coming from WFPB vegan (mostly cooked, etc). I'm like you, I learn from many people and listen to my body.

Great advice, Eva. Before going raw, I basically ate no fats, and avoided fat consumption as if it was the plague. I looked great, but I didn't always feel my best. After going raw, I find that I naturally want a handful of pumpkin seeds per day, or some shredded coconut, or even some hemp seeds to enhance my salads and smoothie bowls. In our community, it's very taboo to mention these foods, but in my experience I do feel better including them in my diet. It doesn't mean I go overboard, but I do feel as if these unrefined proteins and fats are nourishing me well.

Hi Eva, your message resonates with me very much. I’ve tested so many different ways of eating. Starting with a so called American standard diet - doing all the diets, there are on the planet - in order to lose weight, vegetarian diet, 100 % raw vegan 80-10-10, high fat raw, 30 bananas-a-day, juicing, blending, 40 days water fast while walking 500 km through Spain with a backpack (camino frances) and almost dying only for the sake of detoxifying and being thin. I don’t know what kind of damage I did to my body, for sure I have a disordered eating and struggled a lot with binge eating disorder, and I was totally missing out on social interactions for very long time. I agree with you that following all those raw food gurus can be dangerous. I found my peace like you in high raw vegan diet, low in nuts, high in flaxseeds (omega 3), beans, quinoa, sweet potatoes and some fruit. Thanks for your video and merry Christmas to you and your family. Best regards and love from Germany. Susanne

If anything changes I'm happy to adjust but low fat raw vegan has been working for me for many years and my blood work is optimal. We are all a little different. I Just got my blood work back last week , it shows I’m in Perimenopause (still) and I was literally low in protein , omega 3, with low red blood cell count (she said that’s likely nutritional caused ). I use a functional medicine doc.
I have also gained 22 lbs over these years of perimenopause, eating the same whole food raw diet & daily exercising . 🤷🏻‍♀️
Her suggestion was -start eating lean meats & get on at least progesterone to start getting my hormones up .

Eva, what do you think is the key for weight loss on high raw while also healing hormone imbalances?

    • @EvaTheRawFoodCoach
      @EvaTheRawFoodCoach  8 месяцев назад

That depends on age as well as other factors such as possible deficiencies, genetics, body composition…
I’d have to know more but generally speaking reducing sugar and increasing protein seems to work well. As far as hormones getting a hormone panel done to see where you’re at would be good.

I agree that we can only change or control ourselves and not others.
However, you want to control how Eva feels.
Telling someone to be aware of their own emotional response is emotional invalidation, and emotional invalidation is a form of emotional abuse even if unintentional.
Telling someone to not get bothered, to not think negatively, to not take it personally is telling someone that “you shouldn’t feel that way” which is gaslighting, even if unintentional.
No one should be told what to feel or what their emotional response should be ❤
