I’ve changed oil on both hot and cold engines more on hot personally but as long as you do it regularly or at the intervals it doesn’t matter about the residual that’s left. Keep the videos coming mate! 👍😉

My escort years ago used to go through a litre of oil every 700miles, never bothered changing the oil as it was refreshed constantly! 😂 just treated it to a new filter every year! Best preventative maintenance you can do for any engine is regularly changing fluids.

My granddad loved his Vauxhalls, when he chopped in his Triumph Vitesse which he regretted instantly he went to Penfolds in Lewisham and bought a banana yellow 1800 Viva HE but it struggled with caravans, so he moved to a MK1 Cavalier also banana yellow but the engine was too small so at first chance he ordered a new Opel Kadett with a sporty package and it nearly pulled the hitch off the caravan it was so pokey, he then moved to a Astra GTE MK1 and his final car was a special edition GTE MK2 which he never got to drive as he passed on before it was delivered. My dad did dabble hiring a MK1 Opel Ascona for a holiday, my old mum loved it but my father didn't and he bought a 2 litre MK5 Cortina Estate instead.

Always great to service your own cars yourself and good knowing it's work you have done :-)
Funny talk about servicing I did a full service on my mk6 Fiesta 1.6 petrol the other day, and traced an oil leak and hot oil smell to a cam sensor o ring in the back of the cylinder head, the o ring I replaced after spraying the sensor in contact cleaner, letting it dry and wiping out the hole dry. And I can still smell hot oil from that area after a drive around. This doesn't make any sense to me because its also had a new camshaft cover gasket, no leaks there so I wonder what the heck is still causing that smell!
