Blocked Ear Cleaning Marathon | Auburn Medical Group

- This blocked ear cleaning marathon took a total of 9 fills of our Waterpik to completely remove the cerumen from each clogged ear. It took 5 fills of 250 ml of warm water hydrogen peroxide for the earwax removal of the right ear, and it took 4 fills of the ear wax removal in the left ear. We show how to clean ears using a gentle ear irrigation technique with the Bionix attachments for a standard Waterpik. The small flake of ear wax remaining in the ear canal was not removed because the instrumentation need to break it free of the canal wall would likely injure the lining of the ear canal without providing any health benefit to the patient.

I look fprward to these ear wax videos.. I don't know why. They're just so satisfying
We will probably have another two ear was removals in the next 1 -2 weeks.
Yea they can be strangely addictive to watch.
Tara J Andrews you should check out ruclips.net/video/4eP165WHdhs/видео.html you will love his videoes 👍😄
He can now hear thoughts
fierza albussydney 🤣🤣🤣😂😂
Lmao
Would like to see the end result of what came out of each ear....then you get the full affect and understand what was impacting the man's ears.
Ear irrigation always seems refreshing.
Nothing like a cool glass of ear irrigation on a hot summers day
What an adorable man
"And yes I know I have a tremor, that's not news." lmao. ♡
I've always use peroxide to clean my ears and that of my children. It works every time
Thanks Gary! That was a lot of wax. Amazing you could hear at all. Great video!
Dr.Vaughn,I love your beside manner. Thank you for sharing such a variety of procedures.
It look good on camera. It's nice to be able to edit out the times when I slap the patients around.
i doubt he'll need a hearing aid after this
You have the nicest patients! My hubby and I are in our early 50's. Last couple of years, hubby started getting what I call "old man ear hairs". I pluck those babies...and my dear hubby good naturedly abides it. It's akin to the 1 "old lady chin hair" I get. Hubby reached up to pull it off 1 day, thinking it was just a loose hair. When it didn't budge, he laughed..I feigned horror, then went and got the tweezers after it too. #GettingOldAintForSissies
+Jacee K This comes up quite often in the videos of ear wax removal in older gentleman. It really disturbs some younger audiences. I guess it needs a mature rating.
Auburn Medical Group I am 16 and love these videos
Jacee K You are lucky to get just one long chin hair. I am in my thirdies and have been getting quite a few random chin hairs since my twenties... I don't know if its from being part Portuguese and Italian ( among other things), or if it's hormones or maybe just bad luck but it sucks. I need to start a hair removal fund!

+Trin Murray, I actually started noticing the hair in my thirties. Recently I've also been getting 1 coarse dark mustache whisker at the corner of my mouth. Of course that sucker gets plucked too! I'm sure genetics do figure into this deal. I've actually got a lot of hair on my face, but it's that downy vellus hair (short, very light, soft) that most of us have. And I have shaved my face a few times. I've seen where several women do...in addition to removing the hair, it's a good exfoliation technique. And even tho I'd heard it will, the hair doesn't grow back in dark and coarse, that's an old wives tale. I sure wish "old lady whiskers" and wrinkles were old wives tales too. Lol
What a great instrument for irrigation! Way better than a big syringe .I'll bet he can hear a lot better.
yes and yes
You have the nicest patients!
I use peroxide to loosen it up before I use my water pick
Send him to Vietnam or China - best ear cleaners ever!
I wish I had that irrigation waterpik when I was doing era cleanings. I had a syringe and an IV catheter.
Always interesting and informative! I really love when I see you have a new video out! Keep up the great work!
Thanks for letting me know.
I love your ear cleaning videos... love you Dr. Vaughn ♡
You know we love ear wax!
I'm starting to get that idea. Maybe we will have another one soon.
He’s got wax in his ear from 1976
how'd you know?
@@7xynOLDCHANNEL1209 😐
Yeah I think he/she was just trying to make a joke
Nice work and a somewhat different machine to what we use here. Out of interest how much does this procedure cost the patient? Hourly charge I assume?
Me: I will be okay if I don't clean my ears
Me after watching two of these videos: I will clean my ears till the day I die
Am I the only one who would be too scared to do the water treatment bc of swimmers ear? I get it almost every time water gets in my ear canal
It is like an ear colonic.
Such a nice doctor.
I would panic if I did this lol, I had to get my ears cleaned with hydrogen peroxide once and I freaked out lol
He has had that since birth. 😂
Next time you irrigate with the waterpik ask your client to open and close their jaw for super stuck stuff
Do you make your patients put oil in their ears for a few days before seeing you ? Or do they come to you with completely dry ear wax ? Also, now both my ears are blocked and i'm going crazy !
Alguém mais acha esses vídeos satisfatórios?
That looked like it feels so good
Wow that’s a lot of water and wax!!!!
How come I’m like ewww when I see rhe water and earwax but I am watching earwax remover.🤣🤣🤣
I mean the
That curette is so cool! Must come in handy! 👍🏻
Just not on this one
Dr. Wax Waner.. at the remuvin cerumen center.
Wax in... wax out. (on/off) LOL!!!
Do men, who have hairy ears (!), have a harder time removing wax since the wax sticks to the hair?
Yes
Wow that was a lot of wax! Thanks for the video.
I had a family doctor stick something in my ear and remove a piece of hard wax and I thought he was going to bust my eardrum. He was digging and not looking with anything and my ear bleed a little when I got home
It goes on and on…
Can I ask why you never use Micro suction, is it not the safest option?
I don't use it, because I don't have it. I don't know about it being the safest. It could be. There is still an object being inserted in the canal which can rupture the TM.
Im sure he could now hear the beat of my heart
my doctor uses colace to loosen the wax first
We will often do that the night before in tough cases.
Cool
Judy Gagnon I've had that too
we like this very much. hello Dr Mark. hope your happy today😙
Very
Hearing aids are notorious for blocking the ears up with wax, aren't they? Don't they prevent the wax from being able to drain freely? I know my grandparents never had issues with wax impactions until they started wearing hearing aids. Maybe the wax also gets thicker with age?
Not thicker. The natural flow of the cerumen slows with age.
Auburn Medical Group Oh ok. So the hearing aids have absolutely nothing to do with it then?
The hearing aids make it worse by blocking that reduced flow.
Pamela Schramke I have hearing aids too. I do sometimes get lots of wax in my ears
I think it is interesting that most of the ear cleaning is elder
We are gonna use this water thing to clean your ears
What the man hears:
EE ae guhha ooe tis ater hin oo lean or eaas
Is that painful having the irrigation done. I don't think I get ear wax build up. I will use a qtip after swimming or showering but never have much wax come out.
It can be painful on rare occasions.
How funny, I was one to say I liked the syringe method better! I'm a bit old-school; however, I think this method has really grown on me. You'd still be there late into the night, with the syringe method, lol! Loved the video Dr. Mark! You have great patients.
I've been trying to get on your live stream. How do I do that on RUclips?
+Charlette Greene I forgot that that was you. To get the live stream, you have to enable notifications on my RUclips channel. You do this by going to the channel page and clicking on the bell icon. I also announce all of them on the @doctorvaughan Twitter.
Notifications are on! Thank you. 😄
+Dr Vaughan Just wondering about what you said about you having a tremor is it due to a problem with discs in your C spine. I only ask because I have a tremor due to that and Dr Gilmore had the same thing before having fusion surgery done
+Kristi Licea it's nothing so dramatic, just an essential benign tremor.
Auburn Medical Group good to know but they can be so annoying to deal with
Auburn Medical Group I wondered about that because I have it too. It gets in the way of things.
-How long have your ears been blocked?
-WHAT??!?
What is the air was so big that the whole thing went down it
Proud won’t need hearing aids now 😂
I'm sure this is a repeated question, so I apologize, but that insanely loud noise is ok right in their ear?
+kristality The loud noise you hear on the video is not heard inside the ear. The only sound in the ear is that of water squirting out towards the walls of the canal. It would not sound too much different from letting shower water enter your ear canal. It sounds loud on the video because of the compressor I use to turn up our voices.
A very hard fought ear cleaning or gold mining! Your patient is very tall and sweet.
Looking like a double wide surprise
Where can I get the camera for the phone
Had one earlier, that's why I'm watching
Do you ever worry about using irrigation when you don't have a view of the ear drum? Potential for getting water into the middle ear if there is an unknown perf. Ever tried a vacuum? Reach much further and then the curettes.
+Lauren The integrity of the tympanic membrane is always a concern before irrigation. A careful history is taken in an effort to elicit risk factors for prior trauma.
Waiting the caveman to come out from his ears
Should use suction and crocodile grip
Pretty entertaining
Impressive
So satisfying to watch
Sir, May i know blocked ear cleaning instrument name?
It doesn’t hurt the ear drum ?
日本にもある?
Were what is the best way to remove ear wax and the ear hairs.
*This grandpa is so dorable*
Is this method is painful
CONGRATULATIONS DOCTOR, EXCELLENTY TECNICAL FROM SUERO WATER AND THE "CURETAS". IN VIÑA DEL MAR CITY, IN CHILEAN COUNTRY I WAS A OBJET THE CLINICAL ACCION WITH THE EXCELLENT DOCTOR THE NAME IRANY PAZ MELGAR, THE COLOMBIAN MEDICAL WORK AND LIVE IN VIÑA DEL MAR TOURIST AND SERVICE CITY, NEAR PACIFIC COSTAL BORDEL, IN CENTRAL AND MEDITERRANEAN REGION TO CHILE.
There is a button on the keyboard called caps lock. I don't know the Spanish translation, but yours needs to be pushed once.
God job
What's the instrument with the light that you help dig out the wax with?
Is this the only method you use? Do you use microsuction?
Dr Mark please come to Nottingham and do an Earwax Roadshow.💖I would love to meet you and let you look in my pots of gooey gold for nuggets😉
That is not pristine. And u got him wet! Glad to see my technique being used instead of the medieval syringe method, it was so dangerous. I had to figure out something for my baby girl 9 yrs ago now. I tried the waterpik told every doctor I saw in Boise and now I see it's being used!
7:21 with captions was funny
Can he hear colors now?
But for real, can the average joe buy an irrigation thing like that and lighted extractors? My husband is prone to large wax masses and we usually just use warm water + h2o2 and have him lie on the couch while it softens up, then spray it out with one of those rubber bulbs they give you for babies.
+Julia Moran yThe main concern with either home use or in office use is injury to the ear canal or eardrum. Less common complications can include loss of foreign bodies in the ear canal and missed treatment of infections. There are also some other diseases which can be confused with ear wax Accumulation which can be very serious if not caught by a doctor.
What is that you are using to look inside the ear with your phone? Pretty cool
I had that done before it tickles I like it lol
OMG that sure looks just like my water pick. Love that app
I love that curette
It is bright.
Sara Williams Those are really nice curettes. You can get them for a few dollars on Amazon.com
Why do people allow the gunk to build up for so long?
Sum people don’t think it’s a big deal until they can’t hear, while others think that cleaning with a q tip is fine and enough when it’s actually pretty damaging
Missing your show
Is that a water flosser?
That looks nice
With all that hair stuck to it it looks like the doc is pulling out insects!
That's a very nice ear wax removal
what brand and name is that ear irrigation machine? what can one buy that?
What temperature should your water be for the ear irrigation?
Dionne Coleman warm.
おお。ご馳走様です!
beautiful!
Where can I buy an ear cleaner water in the UK?
Great job, Dr.
What is this method called again ?
可愛いらしいおじいちゃんやな♥
thanks
I don't mind letting you stay at my abode. You will like this area i live in. 👍👍
Do you have a new person working the camera? I got a bit motion sick and found it hard to watch. Otherwise great content doc!
LeNora M, I'm sorry this one was a little rough. We are still experimenting with different techniques and lens options. Part of the difficulty is the "live" nature of these procedures. Another contributing difficulty is the extremely close view I try to achieve of the action. This sets up a situation in which there is a very small depth of field. This is difficult for both manual and auto focus, as any macro videographer will tell you. Just the movement of the instruments is enough to take the subject out of the plane of focus. Know that we are doing our best to come up with the right tools and techniques to make this the best medical channel on RUclips.
Be careful, a Dr put a small hole in my ear drum using that water technique.
New subscriber here 😊
Thanks big Gary!
Yes I know I have a tremor. That's not news
😂😂😂😂
