Thank you to the young man for letting you post this video. He did a great service to other teens who may be suffering in silence, literally! He will probably do better at school too.
This is in response to a comment. I am now a retired teacher. I had a good audiologist who sold the practice. When I went again, I was asked if I needed new hearing aids, I said that I did not know. I was denied an appointment and was told to return when I needed new ones. I soldiered on. When I moved, I went to a new audiologist who told me that I was wearing “antiques” that could not even be fixed. When I got my new ones, I started to cry right in the office. I could hear people talking on the other side of the door and a million new sounds. I entered a new world. The only “plus” was that by then, I had become a pretty good lip reader. Man oh man, I had to rely solely on my aids when everyone was wearing masks due to Covid. I know that YOU would never have turned someone away!! I am sure!
When I first began seeing the medical oriented RUclips videos on RUclips. Most were pimple poppers which absolutely nauseated me! I am a nurse who had worked in ENT for a few years and became very interested in what you do. I had decided I would return to school and train to be an audiologist . The more I watched Rhys and Taylor , the more mesmerized I became with the procedures. I decided that I would remain with my nursing carreer ..but I have become totally addicted to watching wax removal channels. . I watch most of them but the Audiology Assoc videos are the best. Thank you, guys, for keeping us educated and enjoying watching. I love you , the comradarie and fun you have doing your job
Conor posted a video a while back of a tool called the EarWay Pro - it's a hollow plastic spiral, designed to be used by ear care professionals to remove wax. This struck me as being pretty much its ideal use case: very full, soft enough to get the tool in and sticky enough not to crumble when you pull it out. I know Conor likes to try every shiny new toy he can (so adorable!) and they often turn out to be more novel than useful, but I'd be curious to see your thoughts on this one.
I feel so bad that this human suffered while his GP just ignored the need for this. I wonder how many years of education he did not learn as much as he could have, due to difficulties hearing. Thanks for helping him. ❤

I have always had earwax problems since childhood and people severely underestimate how uncomfortable and painful it becomes when it gets so blocked up. I ended up having to go to the ER one night because I was in so much pain from the buildup. My mom bought me an otoscope after that and it has made all the difference being able to keep my ears clean and never let this buildup happen again. The difference in what I can hear is astounding. I highly recommend them to anyone who has had wax issues. As always if you get one be smart with it but they are amazing tools to have at home.

Just a question, for a teenager to have that much of a wax build up in his ears at a young age, does that mean he’s likely to suffer with wax problems in the future ?
This is what I was wondering too! I know they've got patients that do have to come in regularly, and I'm wondering if this poor kid's ears are gonna barricade themselves again 😢
@@Michael-sb8jfto be fair, as much as we shouldn’t assume, that is actually a point. I had really bad wax in both ears when I first started at uni. Absolutely brilliant as always guys❤ You are a one stop shop. Relief for your patients and light relief for us. Thank you 🎉 Double thumbs up should be an option 👍👍
I guess a combination of genetics (and possibly hormones?) causing him to produce a lot of wax, and the specific shape/anatomy of his ear canals making it harder for it to leave. This is an enormous amount though, that poor kid.
When I was a child of about 10 I had problems with my hearing, when I went to the hospital ENT to be checked the amount of wax in my ears amazed me, when the doctor looked into them with his various devices they came out caked in wax and he used a metal rod to "spear" chunks of wax, this was in the 1970's. Eventually after a couple of years of having operations, having to sit over a bowl of boiling water with a towel over my head so the steam helped clear my passages, I was cured. The amount of wax I produced during these years was enormous, and the doctors said that everyone produces different amounts of wax, it's probably the same for the person in the video, his body just produces excess wax.
I hope this young man’s GP will view this video. Had he been referred when cleaning was covered by your medical programs, he would have had access to care. Imagine how this affected him at school, especially if he is, by nature, an auditory learner. This situation made me so angry!
He was waiting to be seen by a specialist by the sound of it, but that takes months if not years here at this point. Which is bad for anyone, but especially a child or teenager.

You 2 need to take your show on the road!😂 I seriously "belly" laughed when Rhys said, "down wax! Down!" whilst beating it into submission with the Rosen Inserter. Thanks for the chuckles and the great wax removal guys!!😊😊❤
If these ears weren’t attached to a live person a bit of dynamite would have been just the thing to break this up. Poor lad it’s amazing he could hear at all.
I don’t know if it might be similar in the UK, but after an ordeal like that any self-respecting Canadian teenager would ask his mum if she’d take him for a burger and fries, 😂! That wax was so stubborn, guys. Laughed out loud at the image of you in there just bashing about with curettage tools, then standing the patient on his head to shake the wax out! 😂 Get a glass of water, Taylor and a cheeky cider, Rhys.
This might be a silly question, but do you give the patient any kind of anaesthetic for the procedure? I have a major fear of anyone looking in my ears or touching them due to ear problems as a child and the local doctor inspecting them and inserting tweezers to pull out some wax. I can still remember jumping as he touched inside the ear canal and that was over 45 years ago and no one's looked in them since.
Just when i thought there couldn't possibly be any more in there, it kept going! This poor boy! Such a relief to have all that cleared out.

Watched Mr b from his very first video always follow.. excellent 👌👌
Thanks for this guys. I was having a horrible day and the two of you made me laugh so hard! ❤❤❤❤
I love the videos and always enjoy the commentary 😉
Love love love you both! Keep up the great work! You both are a joy to watch!
Your Welsh accents are sooo divine. I could listen to you both forever 🤪
We have hearing tests where I work as it’s mandatory to wear hearing protection
Hearing Taylor say "a cheeky Rosen inserter" really got a chuckle out of me. Great video!
Poor child. There’s no way that he could have heard out of that ear.
How is there a wait list to get ear wax removed?
Great job Mr Rhys !!! 👌
That teenage boy can hear flea’s jumping around and having bal now 🤭 I really think that he is a very happy person !!!
Well done , see you soon. 🇧🇪😘
You two make me laugh out loud!i especially loved the imagery of each of you grabbing a patient’s legs in order to shake the wax out 😊
You 2 need to take your show on the road!😂 I seriously "belly" laughed when Rhys said, "down wax! Down!" whilst beating it into submission with the Rosen Inserter. Thanks for the chuckles and the great wax removal guys!!😊😊❤
Me too!, watched that part again.
@@dayvraezer6346 me, too!!!🤣
Enjoy your videos. This one was crazy full. A lot of work. Well done
If these ears weren’t attached to a live person a bit of dynamite would have been just the thing to break this up. Poor lad it’s amazing he could hear at all.
I love the educational value of these videos
I don’t know if it might be similar in the UK, but after an ordeal like that any self-respecting Canadian teenager would ask his mum if she’d take him for a burger and fries, 😂! That wax was so stubborn, guys. Laughed out loud at the image of you in there just bashing about with curettage tools, then standing the patient on his head to shake the wax out! 😂 Get a glass of water, Taylor and a cheeky cider, Rhys.
I always do a thumbs up, you both deserve it. Keep up the great work.
I always like videos because it shows very easily that I've watched it.
Wax removal videos have freaked me out so much, I ordered a complete kit from Amazon. 😮
I watched this while working out on the stationary bike. Made my workout much more enjoyable.
