I’m a teacher in South Korea, and basically all my students do taekwondo, there’s a taekwondo studio next to our hagwon. And so I always see them practicing and it’s crazy y’all, the things they can do
I'm a teacher in South Korea, and same with my students. During class, I showed their first act in all of my classes. My students were so inspired. I had some say, "That will be me one day." It was the cutest!! Also, I feel like there is always a taekwondo studios near every hagwon because there are two studios near 4 hagwons.

Literally the definition of saving the best for last. They absolutely killed it tonight! I also love that they went with more of a theatrical feel this time. It makes the act feel more unique

Taekwondo of Korea is not a martial art for attack, It's for defending oneself, respecting each other and protecting the peace

So true, it also builds confidence in oneself so they might walk with their head help high.
There are styles better suited for defending, like brazilian jiujitsu, aikido, judo, taijiquan or wrestling. Styles where emphasis is on kicks are gonna break some bones or give tons of bruises. Good luck explaining that to a cop why your attacker had a footprint on his face and he's missing teeth cos you punched them in. The use of excessive force will easily come against you, if you lack the ability to handle an opponent by any other means than punches and kicks. I'm not speaking of the effectiveness of a style, but it's methods of defense. Taekwondo is more of an offensive style cos those kicks aren't an effective form of counter-attack, but rather best at initial attack delivered at a speed before the opponent can do anything about them. So yes offensive, rather than defensive.

@@landh9964 Korean traditional thinking emphasizes appearance rather than substance. So this is not a martial art, but a Korean performance. Taekwondo is a degraded copy of Shotokan Karate, which was founded in the 1950s. After the founder's ITF fled to South Korea, the South Korean government established the WTF. It emphasizes aesthetically pleasing performance over ITF. Kyokushin Karate Oyama (Korean) was studying Shotokan Karate with Choi, the founder of ITF. Oyama rebuked Choi as Choi and the South Korean government insisted on Taekwondo's lie history to the world. "I will never betray the Japanese" Choi was a former second lieutenant of the Japanese Army.

It is legit. This is the second best Taekwondo demonstration team in the world.

Well, those fails could be legit, if the whole show would be "real". But if you see, that their wooden accessoires have predetermined breaking points (e.g. at 2:31), there is no space for fails anymore.

@av latta meguca Definitely not K-Tigers. I mean they’re good but more of an entertainment group than pure taekwondo. Kukkiwon would take the spot as best demo team imo, their performances are next level.
Why am I teary eyed watching them? Imagine how many blocks they spent to practice those tricks..

Yeah, their training is no joke.
I have a friend in Yong in university and I’m in training to get into the university.
The schedule, practices, and pain you have to put into yourself in order to do all of these.
Especially the kicks, some are very risky.

Your gut tells you this is a difficult task to achieve and you felt like a proud mom watching your kids being acknowledged after hard effort.

초반 유령 나오는 부분에서 긴장감이 떨어지고 어색하고 분장 때문인지 실수도 보여서 아쉬움이 있었어요.
후반부로 갈수록 본래의 태권도 시범단 공연이 나오면서 집중력이 높아지고 좋았습니다.
그냥 영상으로 볼 때보다 슬로우 모션 영상으로 봤을 때 품세나 격파하는 모습이 진짜 멋졌어요!!!!
부상 없이 결승전까지 준비 잘하시고 꼭 우승하시길 응원합니다!

I respect how they kept performing on that stage of pieces of wood left with bare feet, which means they are real (not just demonstrating). Stunningly real talent!

I think it's beautiful the team isn't only consisted of Koreans, but rather others from around the world. Martial arts may originate from one place but it isn't ours to keep, it isn't something that is tangible. Its for the betterment of humankind and I think this team showed us that. United by a martial art, talented people across the globe put on a spectacular show!

They have these types of shows in Korea. I love them but rhymes have taken all of this up a so much! Love it! I really hope they also include a Korean singer & korean dancers to this! It would be phenomenal to include their cultural background.

what i find most impressive is how they are doing quadruple backflips and they dont ever land on a piece of wood with all the debris on stage ! insane
I don't think the boards they are breaking is wood. It looks like styrofoam or some other material, but definitely not actual wood. They're all barefoot ---- I find it hard to believe if it were real wood that not a single person got a splinter? Doubt it. Great performance, for sure, but unlikely wooden boards were used especially with the judges right there and could get hit with the "wooden" boards or debris.
