Too bad that almost all of the footage used in this video has absolutely no reference to anywhere on the Great Loop route. Unfortunately, your viewers are going to be misinformed as to what to expect along the way - unless the Great Loop you're referring to is in Asia, the Caribbean, South Pacific, or on a cruise ship. For anyone serious about researching the actual Great Loop, there's endless videos on my channel to help folks see what is realistically in store for them.
None of those boats were for me.... I am 100% using a C-Dory.... -Cheap on fuel. -Marina fees are priced on length of boat. Save 40%. I'd probably stay in a marina every 3rd night.... Full shower, refuel, top off fresh water, full recharge of batteries, stock food, eat in a nice restaurant.... -Maneuvering is easy with 360° visibility. -Light with a shallow draft of less than one foot which makes anchoring MUCH easier and safer. -Outboard motor.... Single or twin option. -Everybody can work on a 115 hp Yamaha, Mercury, Honda or Suzuki.... or twin 50 hp. -Reasonable price. Can buy new under 100 grand. Used.... less than 50 grand. -It can be rigged to meet any accommodations. Small refrigerator, a/c, generator, etc. -Toileting.... The 25' has a full shower and pumpout head. The 22'??? Figure it out. Me? Probably a composting toilet and water bottle shower in my swim trunks. -Never forget.... "Big boat has big problems. Little boat has little problems." You ain't going 5,000 miles on the water without problems. I want LITTLE problems.
@@michaelgarrity6090 I'm in Florida. My off shore time will be less than 5%. I looked at Sea Sport. Life is a series of "trade offs". The trade in this case? The Sea Sport is a little more BOAT and a little less HOUSE. If I were going to be off shore, boat is WAY more important than house. But.... for me, house tops boat. Some people prefer The Parker. That's closer to The Sea Sport. Between those two??? I'd take The Sea Sport.
No way. Good luck. Just sold our 2021 23 foot C-Dory. It’s WAY to small to be a serious boat except in the bay pretty much. Maybe in the TomCat. We are waiting to buy a MUCH bigger boat. One bad day in mixed seas and you’ll find out the hard way. I love C-Dory and the folks that build them. They are made for very calm days. maybe 2 foot wind chop at best.
@@kirkmccoy9729 There's no waves on the intracoastal waterway. Many times the Atlantic is a LAKE. If you are careful about the days you go in the ocean, you'll never see a wave out there either. But.... Good luck with your upgrade.
Great video, very informative
Great video. Extremely informative.
Greenline hybrid yachts are my choice. The 38 is a perfect size id say.

I'm gonna do the Loop in either a C-Dory 25 Tomcat, catamaran or a slightly bigger Sea Sport which is a sister make to C-Dory.
