This is a lovely comment to read! I'm looking forward to my next trip up and, since donating the remains of my bottle to my pal at the Limburg Whisky Festival, I'm on the lookout for another! Another great show. I might differ on one point........the connection to whisky for me is most often to the stories. I truly love the stories and history. That said the liquid must also stand alone as a great product..........but the stories and experiences amplify everything great about the drams. That's just me, I defer to those much more wiser than I 😊 The Ballindalloch certainly got my attention! slainte to yourself Roy
For anyone who missed out on the Thompson Bro's Circumstance bottling, MoM have just released their own 3 year old Circumstance (actually closer to 4 years if you look at the distillation/ bottling dates). At just £45, it was an instant buy for me based on your review Roy 👍

Also amazing story about The Glenlivet, I did visit the distillery but never paid attention between the b.... & the label...We always learn things in your Quizzes...Slainte ! Enjoy Limburg too ! 🥃

They were trying to talk me into that Circumstance when I was in the bottle shop at Easter 😊 ended up with a Dailuaine bottling which is also lovely as I'd been wanting to try that distillery for a while. Great show as always

I wasn’t going to, but I move now jumped on and purchased the Strathearn and a wee bottle of new make along with a cheeky Port Dundas 18 which I’m going to taste tonight. Also purchased a Dornoch bottling of Blair Atholl 14 but that’s going in the queue for now. Just opened a Daluaine they matured or finished in Back Isle stout casks. Quite meaty and delicious.
Have been at Strathearn to photograph content for this new launch and the size of the distillery is smaller than you might think! They produce one barrel per shift. So 1 or 2 a day. They also do everything by hand, even the cut points are done purely by taste/smell!
Finally got round to watching this V-pub,nearly a week late.Icanadd a couple of names to my "wanted" list now 😊 I should be in live tonight (fingers crossed) looking forward to it. Can finally sit down properly with my new packaging Glenallachie 15 and take a bit of tome to enjoy it and the v-pub !!
Ahhh, so that was the tease bottle! Great stuff. I actually bought that very bottle just after the start of the vpub last night, after some chat with the vpub crowd (it's @alan Smith's fault 😊). Delighted to hear you think it's good too. Can't wait to try it when it arrives. Great vpub. Very enjoyable. And encouraging for the future.
Another superb new uncorking vPub Roy. The facial expressions, the oohs and the ahhs, the smiles of amazement when taking that first sip of those new drams, really is great viewing (well for me anyway). Glad you enjoyed those drams, especially the Circumstance. How a 3 year old single grain can be so complex is utterly amazing. The team at Bristol definitely have my attention. Glad I bagged a 130 as well in the recent Dornoch ballot. Have a time in Limburg Roy! Slainte

Interesting VPub Roy and great to see you back in your driver seat. I don’t think that big producers will stop marketing to lower costs or improve quality in the short term. Not sure that the regular drinker can define properly quality and marketing guys help them to define quality with all but liquid criterias (IMO) An enthousiaste is happy to find a 3yr old licorne and the drinker is happy to buy the flashing bottle at the big price Without marketing and better quality big players need to forecast sustained revenues and they don’t have market feedback to improve quality It’s sad Cheers
Some true thoughts right there. However, the line up of drams I uncorked and enjoyed last night are amongst probably the best I've enjoyed in a long time. Every one of them made my eyes pop. I even felt guilt that I was having so much fun, the internal voice asking "Where's the critique Roy?" Well, if this is the future of whisky - I'm in! Cheers Pierre!

I’m so pleased you got the chance to explore and recommend Circumstance. We had a tasting with them, fantastic stuff. All their cask samples knock my socks off!

Could Loch Lomond ever make a Chardonnay yeast release part of their core range as they are always so popular, a pop into the Facebook page will tell you that. Also think this community raises the tide so we avoid more duds, at least that's been my experience.

@Aqvavitae Roy, it might be a hard one, but you ought to do "new" whiskey/s that are completely different from the first pour. Personally some good ones like this is anything with a proper 'raw' sherry cask, or anything that had a first fill "specialty" cask. It's super interesting to roll that dice. 2006 Signatory Vintage Glenlossie 12yr old is a good example for me. Rough as guts 2 years ago when I first tried it. Cracked it the night she proposed to me and it's only gotten better.
was about to come to limburg but damn workplace didn't give me the monday off because company reasons, and 10 hours drive by car there and back again just for one day of drinking is just too ridiculous for my taste.
If I search whisky reviews in Canada it goes.... whiskyfun... whiskybase... whisky advocate... then dramface. Pretty good I'd say. (Jeff Whisky is number 6? Amazing)

The single cask Ballindalloch is £99.95 at RMW not £89. The 46% bourbon cask is £89.
