Thanks Geoff - just been cruising your channel for links for tonight's release too. Longmorn has jumped above £100 here now, hey ho. Thanks for watching buddy
The famous 'Bottle of Wow'. I had that exact ECBP and it was fantastic - A genuine WOW. I love ECBP but it's £110 a bottle over here and it's one of those that has sadly run away from me now. What I will say though, I think it's every bit as good as any Scotch, even better, for the money. The only affordable great bourbon (Tennessee - whatever) available in Britain is JD SBBP which we pay a bit less for than you guys. I like the ever dependable WT Rare Breed too. All the best lads. WT
Just fantastic. Continues to be my favourite style of video. You manage to fit so much great information during such a fun and relaxed experience. Just amazing. I really hope those Thompson Bros come out my way. They sound amazing. Thanks for taking the time to build this, and I hope you have an wonderful summer break. Cheers!
Hey Calum, good to see ya. Been enjoying some of your content recently too. There's a few interesting things coming from LL and some of them are using 100% malt from their copper column still, exciting times as the prices seem keen too. Cheers and thanks for stopping by
The Wild Turkey 101 is the equivalent of 23GBP here in Nova Scotia. I may have to add that to the shopping list this weekend. Glad to see the Recycled Reviews back again, Roy.
I agree, it's not quite as good but bloody close. I pay around €70-80 for a bottle. Springbank has vanished from all the suppliers, when a bottle pops up it's around 300€, an insane price.
I love the pragmatism, and I think with the quality form the newer distilleries, we'll be in good shape to always celebrate other whiskies when some disappear.

These are probably my favorite videos regarding whisky! You should build a church of the water of life. I would attend those ceremonies Rev. Aqvavitae! 😉🥃
Hi Roy. Great to have another recycled review. Can't tell you how much you've enhanced my whiskey journey. I live in Australia and just managed to get a bottle of leideg 10. Only had neck pour🙂. Bought a bottle of rassay too.. thanks
Thanks Roy. Not just for this video, but more so for helping start my whisky appreciation journey. It has been a fun journey. Though we have not met in person, I feel like we have and that is a gift to me indeed. Thanks for the mentoring.
Looking forward to RR #16! Cork saving, bottle flipping, sipping the dregs, honest opinions, weather challenges, background noise and even the weird soundtrack. Love 'em!
Bunnahabhain 12 is a rock solid whisky. I don't think it is underrated though. A former Ralfy Whisky of the Year and it has been mine on a couple of occasions too. Waitrose often reduce the price and when they do a certain giant online retailer does too. That's when you should pick up a couple of bottles. WT
I suppose everything is just a question of price, but seriously if whisky as a category/sector isn't looked after, it'll only be the biggest that survive, and just like history repeating, it could happen once more. Ardna killing it though. Thanks Martin
The Loch Lomond distillery is a force. Kensington Wine Market just brought in a 11 year single cask that is marvellous. Not sure about the yeast but it is a fruit bomb with a Glen Scotia vibe….great Royviews Aqvavitae.
Getting better by the minute! Exciting times for the distillery and the drinkers Greg. Could be a chardonnay yeast, they're not always labelled as such. I see what ya did with the name... ;p Cheers
Totally agree with your comments on glenallachie. I've had the 12, 15, 11 moscatel finish and single cask variants. They have been pleasant, but just not there, very forward palette, and lacking depth. The 15 I was eyeing off last year as perhaps a replacement for a glendronach 15/18 given the chill filtered change in policy. Managed to get a sample of the 15 glenallachie, so happy I did not buy a bottle> hot and flat.
Lovely to see another review. And add some bottles to my wish list..... I couldn't agree more about Lagavulin, the 16 year old has gone from being a staple to one I no longer buy. A huge shame as it was a game changing whisky for me, I'll never forget the first time I tried it. Having paid 48€ a bottle in 2020 and now struggling to find one under 80€ has taken it off my must have list though. 48€ was always insanely cheap but they must have been making a profit. This jump in price seems to be powered by accounting, not by a love of whisky. I'll stick to Laphroaig quarter cask, not as rich but about a third the price and higher abv. You recommended Inchmoan to me a while ago, huge thanks for that tip. I now have a bottle open and 2 in reserve ❤ Thompson Brothers is now high on my shopping list
Roy, I just wanted to say that I bought a bottle of Glencadam 10 a while ago after you mentioned it on one of your vPubs a while ago and you asked me to let you know how I got on with it. I absolutely loved it. Thanks for the recommendation and the education.
From what I’ve heard, Lagavulin is almost entirely a computerised and mechanically managed distillery now. It’s decisions like this, paired with the ridiculous prices that have led me to walk away from them. Their heart really does not seem to be in it anymore. Great video anyway Roy!
Glad to see another video Roy. I saw some favorites of mine in this lineup, looking forward to the next video and I hope you enjoy your Summer break. 🖖😎🥃
Royal Brackla 12 has been in my permashelf since I first saw it here in the Philippines two years ago. It was on offer, got 3 bottles for about £28 each. It's gone up to about £43-£50, which I think is still good value. Can't wait for RR #17!
RR17 out tonight! Can't believe that price for the RB12 tho, wow. Yes, I agree that hovering around £50 is still good given the specs. Not a bad drinker either! Cheers Jaime!
Aye, I think if I ever crack the audio and get it perfect it'll lose a wee bit of 'character'. That's how I keep reassuring myself at least! Cheers Chris!
My chief regret from the last whisky show I went to was not jumping on buying the Ardnamurchan when I tasted it. It truly stood out against the literal dozens of other whiskies on display that day, and I fear that it may have even been the 09.20:01 that I didn’t get. Forget labels, go on taste.
I enjoyed seeing a Recycled Review again, Roy. They're what brought me to your channel originally. Sorry I haven't been around of late, but I'm still watching along on replays. -- Robert (formerly BarterHordes)
Noble Rebel is not yet available here in Sector O. It doesn't look like it has gotten far if it has hit this shore. (The Untied Snakes.) It looks like I have to order it direct from the UK. Maybe if I combine my order with those for Thompson Brothers (also not available here in Sector O), I can cut on the per bottle shipping cost.
Aye it's difficult I know, not everything everywhere and not all the time, and certainly not at the same price. Good luck with the personal imports meantime, I just hope I don't send you wrong and you enjoy whatever you land! Cheers Kelly
I love these reviews! Thank you for turning me on to Deanston. I love their 12 year; however, look how different this bottle on the left looks from the one on the right six weeks earlier. Has anyone else experienced a major difference in color)
I’ve seen it myself - enjoy the honesty and natural variation in colour! The alternative is to vat the batch based on colour rather than flavour - or even worse - colour all the batches the same like other non-natural producers do!
Cheers Roy, I always love the recycled reviews. I watch the Vpub on catch up because of work and maybe I should comment and interact more than I do. I actually ordered a bottle of Ledaig 18 during the show, at 85 pounds it made perfect sense. I also ordered a bottle of the Indri whisky as well. We had it at the whisky club last year and everybody loved it. I swapped my dram of it for a whisky from Finland that nobody liked. It reminded me of fermented fish and yellow urinal fresheners, but in a good way. Cheers Roy.
"but in a good way" I know exactly what you're talking about Billy, and never worry about interaction, it's all about what suits, very grateful you're watching! Also glad you're enjoying the Ledaig 18 and that Indri. Cheers
Got my first Wild Turkey 101 (found an OLD bottling 🤗 🦃) in March... which I want to try & save for as long as possible! FINALLY went out this afternoon (Thursday 😊) & picked up my first new bottling (what Roy has here 😉) of WT101 - I will be opening sometime before Sunday! Cheers & Gobble Gobble 🇺🇸 🥃 🦃 🥃 🇨🇦
Feel the Glenallachie mark was a little hard, agree its a one trick pony but its also readily accessible for a 15yo, although I'm a bit biased. 100% with you on the inaugural Ardnamurchan, well Ardnamurchan in general my most repurchased distillery in 2023...magic juice.
Great stuff Roy, look forward to the next 😁 I do have to agree about Diageo, I have a couple of Clynlish's in the cupboard and I only buy IB Caol Ila now. Good luck to them.
I worry about the long-term availability through independents. There's far too much narrow-minded short-termism around certain quarters of the industry right now. It's frustrating. Cheers Neil
LOVE these videos Roy! I found a bottle of the Lornmorn Secret Speyside 18 and 23 and snapped them both up as I had never seen them anywhere before in Australia. Very glad I got them 😁
Great video! 👍 It's interesting that the new nice Wild Turkey 101 bottle has the shape of a pot still, despite they are distilling in a huge column still. Correct me if I'm wrong)
I agree on the Glenallachie 15 now. When I first tried it I was very early in my whisky journey. It was the first sherry matured whisky I bought and opened up the variety for me. Perhaps the flatness also means accessibility for those with less exposure to, or experience with, more complex whiskies. Also on Ardnamurchan I managed to get a couple of bottes on my recent trip back to the UK to bring back to Melbourne. I'm very much enjoying the 01:21:01.
Spot on - it doesn't make it a bad whisky and indeed, the profile fits some folk perfectly! Glad you're loving the Ardna form out west David, it's been terrific!
Everyone want's to love on Glenallachie but I'm just not connecting with it. The 15 did nothing for me and neither did the Batch 6 Cask Strength. I like that old school Macallan sherry style which you used to get in Billy Walker era Glendronach/Benriach times. I even like dirty sherry like Sprinbank and Benromach. Glenallachie, rather like Glenfarclas, don't do it for me. Some love it and others obviously don't. It's whisky and we don't all have to agree. WT
Oooh Dave, the amount of times I've been tempted - in honour of Scott's parody video you understand - but I've refrained. My neighbours appreciate it I'm sure! Thanks for watching my friend!
Its absolutely ridiculous that Lagavulin gets premium top shelf space on the largest alcohol buyer in the world LCBO. Charging over $200 CAD for their product just absurd. Used to love, forget it.
Some bottles I love in this review. Wild Turkey 101 is my go to bourbon for cocktail making (and their 101 Rye). The higher proof really stands up to other ingredients.Elijah Craig Barrel Proof is always a favourite bourbon from my time living in the US. Still try and pick it up when I am visiting the US if I can find it for a good price. Little bit biased for Glenwyvis as a family member is one of their directors but really enjoyed that release as have other I gave a sample to. That Benromach is great and I am going to have to try and source another bottle.
Bias is one thing, but objectively that is a great bottle of whisky from GW, I'm excited for their '19 due out next month! Agree on the Benromach - good luck on the search!
Some interesting bottles on show. Agree on the Vega 33, it didn't live up to the 23 or 28yo. I think the Diageo rants are well worn now. Have mixed feelings about the direction they're taking. You could make several arguments in favour of what they're doing for the industry also in fairness. Cheers 🥃
I'd love to hear 'em. I think they're doing nothing for the industry, if you mean the scotch whisky industry that is. They are an international and as long as they make money they don't care where it comes from, hence the investment in malt production in China. If scotch falters they'll be onto the nest thing. It may be well worn but too many folk are happily just buying out of loyalty or a lack of inspiration to look elsewhere. Diageo's decisions of recent, I fear, would be pretty hard to defend. They are actively choking a traditional industry. Be it cutting off malt supplies or casks, or clumsily and naively positioning products inappropriately or bizzarro cask finishing. Tequila Lagavulin anyone? Virgin oak? I represent a sliver of their customer base and I am very biased towards the enthusiast, but damn I loved their distilleries. I'd love to see them flourish and not be milked. Cheers James
@@Aqvavitae loads of good points and largely agree. I think it would be hard to argue they're getting it wrong looking at their interim results. The work they've done with the visitors centres and Princes St is incredible. An amazing excercise in turning people into whisky drinkers. I disagree on the blind loyalty though, they make some fantastic products at all price levels (some a bit mental sich as Tali 18). At a time when budgets are tight you can get some real bargains still when theres 3yo whisky like Lagg out there for £75. To some degree, they are the industry and I hope Diageo along with everyone else ride this wave for as long as possible. Its a certainty it'll fizzle out one day.
Now this is the kind of bottle flipping I can get behind 😅
I'm hoping Roy will start juggling the bottles before the video ends.
Only now, do I realise I’m bottle flipper! 😂 Glad we’re don’t judge around these parts
Great rundown, buddy. Love to see that Longmorn 18 celebrated. Cheers to you! 🥃

Thanks for your time, I'm humbled!
Yes! Never thought I'd be so happy to see a set of Glasgow Council recycling bins. Great to see RR back!
Pleasure to have ya! Cheers..
Well done Roy! The wait was well worth it! That ECBP at 69.7 was the very first bottle we had and it’s responsible for the Bottle of Wow!!!
You gifted me my first bottle of that - the 750ml. I thought it'd last forever. Just a memory now, but what a memory. Wow indeed! Cheers boys!
The famous 'Bottle of Wow'. I had that exact ECBP and it was fantastic - A genuine WOW. I love ECBP but it's £110 a bottle over here and it's one of those that has sadly run away from me now. Not bad eh? Cheers
Nice deployment of the emergency glen cairn glass, true professional!
I'm not quite as prepared in tonight's video Richard, still a noob.
Excellent video,
I like the idea of taking out the recycling, and 35 mins later going back in the house pished.
I know. Side eye from the wife but it's thankfully very occasional! Cheers Jim
Waaay! Been looking forward to the return of these for a while. Really curious about that 100% malt grain whisky as well.

I can grab it for around that too Scott - when it's on offer. A bit cheap you could argue but I'll take it! Cheers!
The Benromach Cask Strength is for me a Springbank 12 replacement. Similar price as what I used to pay for SB12 - but widely available.
Hey Angus! Roy's out smashin bottles and talkin to the birds again.
"Great. I hope he leaves a wee dreep in a coupla bottles for me. Noo sit doon and dinnae put him aff!"
I always love the recycled reviews. Everything is stripped down but much more informative than straight forward tasting notes. After years of grumbling about price like a stuck record I can appreciate your perspective. It's not price per se but value that concerns us. I'll have a blow out if I genuinely think the bottle justifies it. Sorry to say but recently that issue is increasingly in the negative. However, there is still great value whisky out there and you highlight some of that here. I think it very important to score an average of quality and price. Thanks Welsh - agree with every word. Hope you're well buddy. Spain was, resplendent as always!
All your recycled reviews are so enjoyable and informative! And, by the way, I completely agree with your views on Diageo.
Thanks Marc, but a shame, isn't it?
@@Aqvavitae Indeed! I love Lagavulin and other Diageo brands. But the price increase has been crazy the last few years.
Roy, as always your R’ Reviews offer a fantastic blend of variety and knowledge
Thanks Seamus! Glad to have you watching (tune in tonight for 17!)
Easily my favorite reviews. 2nd place isn't even close. "There's a wee drop in this" Fantastic.

Sorry, I can’t figure out how to upload a photo to RUclips.
I hope they're all good! Cheers and thanks for watching
@Aqvavitae Very good, Roy: Thank you, very much! Cheers 🥃 🦃 🥃
Wild turkey 101 ftw!
Aye!
Good to see this, looking forward to the next one Roy
Not a long wait this time John - out tonight!
Will have a dram poured for this.
Pour one for me - bet I can't guess it!
It just didn't land for me - although I am enjoying their 8yo! Ardnamurchan? Enough said... Cheers Dave
Cheers Neil
So glad you are back.
And back again tonight! Thank you!
Looking forward to this video my friend.
Thanks! Hope you enjoyed!
Good evening Barflies 👍🥃
WHISKEY CHEERS 😎
LOVE these videos Roy! I found a bottle of the Lornmorn Secret Speyside 18 and 23 and snapped them both up as I had never seen them anywhere before in Australia. Very glad I got them 😁
Cheers Wade - look forward to catching your thought - you reviewed 'em yet?
@@Aqvavitae Not yet, but will get to them eventually! Looking forward to your upcoming recyecled review, love this format 👌
Love it! Cheers Roy 👍
Thanks!
Thanks Roy. based on your review I took a chance on a couple of the Ardnamurchan AD09.22 Cask Strength
And now I wait nervously for the outcome....
@@Aqvavitae lol. I enjoyed it with a whisky pal and we thought It was great. Great recommendation!!
Finally! 😉 love this….
Thanks Frank - another out tonight!
Saying these are my favorite reviews would be a massive (UK speak LOL) understatement.
Walt! How are you ol' friend?
Always enjoy these recycled reviews, excellent Roy. Slàinte
Thanks David, that means a lot!
Slainte, cheers to boring scores !! 😂🥃
That's a one way to look at it. And a good way!
Great video! 👍
It's interesting that the new nice Wild Turkey 101 bottle has the shape of a pot still, despite they are distilling in a huge column still. Correct me if I'm wrong)
Never noticed or thought of that! Subliminal or cheeky? I wonder...
Ooh Roy you've twisted my arm, ordered a Longmorn 18 for a very decent £83.90
Me too
That's a steal - form where? Cheers Simon
Really enjoyed your work
Thanks Ken. Really enjoyed your comment!
I enjoyed #16 and am really looking forward to #17. enjoy your summer break. slainte .
It rolls around tonight - but I think you've already spotted that! Cheers!
@@Aqvavitae yes i did.. 👍🏻
WT
Recycled reviews,my favourite as always...
Thanks Kuldeep!
Finally, great!!!
I know, long time - another this evening if you're up for it!
no belch? lol I was waiting for the belch!
Spot on. Vote with your wallet and time. I'm out for the forseeable.
Be on the lookout for Wild Turkey Kentucky Spirit. Basically a single barrel version of 101.
On it. Thanks Big man...
How did scenes of a guy standing in front of some recycling bins become one of my most anticipated videos?
Maybe they should be rebranded to Recycled Royviews?
Listen I'm a wee bit freaked out about it too, but not nearly as much as my neighbours. Cheers loocheek!
@@Watchman999
Let’s do this!
And let's do it again tonight! Cheers Justin!
The Elijah Craig is Batch #11. Unfortunately, these "pirate" bottles are long gone from the market. It was a 2016 release.
Shame, back before they were 'discovered' by more folk than can be sated by supply no doubt?
