Uh, just when I thought I was done playing fretted guitar, because you made me fall in love with slide, you deliver this blistering lesson. Good grief. You are an alien, Jules. In the best possible sense.
Yes! It’s a very cool way of playing and really I’m just trying to inspire folks to try playing in a way they might not already 😊 thank you for checking out the video!
@@julesleyhe I've been waiting for Chris or someone else to tackle it. MIchael Palmisano touched on it...but didn't go into detail with the cool stuff leading up to that you did. I normally like jumbo frets and have a pretty tight grip. I'm working on it, but do you need a pretty loose grip to slide easier? subscribed, thanks again. Also can you do it well with a pick or prefer with fingers?
Thank you Gina! That’s exactly it, focusing on little nuances like this have helped me expand my own playing so I want to share these tips/ tricks with folks like you so thank you Gina!
I’d leave them as they are, this is really almost more of a perspective to have while playing… I’m calling it “slide without a slide” but it’s really all about just gaining a fresh perspective of how to phrase licks across the fretboard between string bending & sliding. Thank you for checking out the video!
Yes! Absolutely, and he’s my biggest hero… I will more than likely do a follow up listen to this with some whammy bar action sometime soon! Thank you for checking out the video!

👽 greetings earthling 🖖🏻🖖🏻 you are too kind, Mark! Thank you so much for that 😊
This is a gold mine with each nugget as valuable as the last!
Thank you as always, Don! 😊
Slide without slide, its never be a same, but its pretty good.
Yep! It’s really just about considering a new way of approaching the fretboard - to me at least. Thanks for checking out the video!
i've always been interested in slide without slide. Frank Marino and Mahogany Rush was amazing at this. he used the vibrola arm.

Ah, finally the Chris Buck sound. Thank you so much
Exactly! Thanks for digging the video!

Wow, this was an amazing video!! It seems so simple, but I never thought to add those nuances to my playing. That all changed today!

🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Thanks man!! 😎👊🏼
Great stuff. What gauge strings on that strat?
Thank you so much John! I’m playing 9-46 on the strat 🤘🏼🤘🏼😊
@julesleyhe awesome
So do I still need to get the strings highlighted to get the tone or can I leave them as they are?

Jeff Beck was the OG master at this

I really look forward to it. I’ve learned a lot from this vid alone. I appreciate you.
Also, a really good example of Beck playing a “slide without a slide” is on the song “What god wants part 1” by Roger Waters. Amazing stuff
