    I have watched Shaun's video's for a while now. The thing i like most about him is he replyed to a comment of mine and i really wasn't expecting it. Very approachable and not an ounce of stuck upedness, if that's a word. From an Ozzie cover/church band guitarist, i respect humility, and he has it in droves. Nice to hear a bit about his guitars, but also his random acts of guitar destruction and forgetfulness etc. Great interview. I do feel that first guitar would be close to having a strat with 3xP90's in it. I have loaded a frankinstrat with JJ's pick up P90 simulcast pickups and they give me this kind of tone but look like normal single coils. Anyway, Thanks for the cool video Robert.

    Real fine player. My son can do that stuff, and he's a stress analyst engineer ... I LIKE this guy. Down-to-earth and has a guitar story a lot like mine!! My very first guitar was a 1954 Stratocaster my just divorced dad gave me for Christmas of 1963. One July night in 1965, the band I was in with my older brother, played in Palatka FL, 50 or so miles from our home. We stopped on the westside of Jacksonville (an area that would eventually produce The One PerCent and Lynyrd Skynyrd) and dropped off our drummer ... and forgot to put up the back window on my brother's 1961 Ford station wagon. Stopped on the Fully Worn Bridge to pay toll and the axe went sliding out the back onto the Jacksonville expressway, never to be seen again. Not a good night for a 17 year-old kid.

    The PLD broke my heart, but for different reasons. If you had taken that case, full of splinters and dust, and brought it to Johnny Rushing in East Tennessee, he would have restored it. If you still have that case with all the pieces, he still can. He did it before, and if you ever have a couple of hours to spend listening to a good ol' southern boy tell stories, call him. He will tell you all about the guitar now known as Lazarus. He is a fantastic luthier and an even better man. Great guy. If you don't have the time, let me know, I'll tell his story.

It’s weird to me that so many people will have half a dozen of the exact same type of guitar.

    • @markstewart8171
      @markstewart8171 Месяц назад +2

      Yea I'm with you on that they are tools and wants 10 sawzaws, or 10 shovels etc unless you have 3 people using the tools at the same time then you need many of the same tools, even then though with music, you want each of you to have different style guitars so it mixes well.

    • @mrmatthew2443
      @mrmatthew2443 Месяц назад

      Ok, sure but they all end up sounding the same or very similar in the mix so it’s a highly personal issue
      You’ll find most of the greats that play one guitar or a couple variations of the same guitar have z large personal collections of completely different guitars and youde be surprised what they’re actually using in the studio
      I certainly see the benifits to using just one guitar forever .. that ain’t me though

I was distracted and didn't notice it was still on the ground I backed over it smashing the case ..I thought what the heck was that noise? I got out to see and well.. the case was trashed and it back bowed the neck but didn't break you could put your little finger under the strings in the middle of the neck.. I traded it for 76 explorer... I never liked the explorer.. but that's life..

    Nice. What happened to the neck?. Did you still have it, if so put it back on.🎉

      That neck was a total loss. The headstock was completely crushed and splintered.

    I have done that exact same thing ( run over my guitar) the exact same way. Laid it against the truck and it was late and I was tired and I didn't triple check like I usually do. I was pulling out and make it about 100 yards and got flagged down. Yo dude I think you ran over your guitar. It was a triple pickup Epiphone Casino. I also felt as dumb as a rock for quite some time. I always triple check now. Bandmates are like come on man lets get out of here. I need to look just one more time. It was also the neck I obliterated.

    How on earth does he keep those all those guitars in such great condition? Mine always look like they have been through WW3 after 6 months 😂

    Shecter Hellcat values just went through the roof 😂
    What I find ironic about this video is that he’s wearing a Fender shirt but he has the biggest collection of “non Fender” Fenders I’ve ever seen 😂

      I know right
      He loves those suhr super Strats that are way way overpriced everyone I’ve played was Blah at best , baseball bat necks
      I would love to see him play a real Strat but we don’t know what kinda resentment he may possibly with fender.. maybe they tried to work out an endorsement or something
      He’s awesome , love his channel sometimes..

    One of the most boring aspects of music is the "next fastest hand" on guitar. There's always "the next guy" who's suppose to be the "scariest" new guitarist. There's more substance in a Muddy Waters tune than in Joe Satriani, Steve Vai, Eddie Van Halen piece. Fast, scary guitarists are a dollar a gross.
