That is taking shape! A good thing to survey. My neighbor had his new-old ATV and broke it the same day he got it. Rolling in the forest with high ferns. He stopped on a hidden stump. Ouch! All-Terrain Vehicle (ATV) does not mean hit anything, anytime... The same applies to tractors!
Bush hog the area, Hank b/c you will want some vegetation in the area for deer to browse. Even if they don't stay throughout, they love to munch on newly sprouting vegetation and the chopped weeds will bring in tender morsels for the deer to enjoy. A controlled burn is okay but it takes a while for the re-growth if you're looking for deer to come in this year. The rotary utter and grapple will handle everything in your field. Excellent field action, Hank.
Good job with the tips!! Tractors and equipment take a heck of a beating! We use them in places just about nothing else will go! lol Have a good weekend Hank!!
I think using the brush hog is better than a controlled burn for you property. The fire could get out. The property looks nice where you mowed. Enjoyed the video as always.
One other thing to look for, which is more of Spring problem, is look for fawn(s) laying in the high grass. Almost got me one at the end of May right after I purchased my tractor. It was laying tight and was scared it wasn't about to move. We had walked the area, but they are easy to miss. Thankfully caught sight of it and avoid chopping up the little thing,
Great video! Loved the camera shots, you all are making great progress! Good tip too, should always look out for yourself and others! Take care friends :)
Woooooooo! Land clearing is something I love watching! Id say fire is never controllable haha might be safer with bushhogging! We all love fire but dont wanna get caried away now hahah lots of foliage and surrounding brush that could be hazardous! Maybe bush hog a buffer around the dges of the area you wanna burn almost like a "fire line" to prevent the fire from spreading out of the area! Take care hank!
As thick as that is, I'd brush hog. Loosing control of a "controlled burn" can happen quick and unexpectedly, better safe than sorry. Still need to get me a grapple!
Thanks for sharing and that safety gear looks a bit warm but you still have legs that's good 👍 I really need to get some for my P.P.E .now we run a chainsaw more often. On our channel we just cut up and hauled out a double tree and root ball across a 9ft creek this must be tree removal month on RUclips several channels have been removing tree's. Be safe have a great weekend.
Personally, I'd rather not play with fire...I've seen controlled burns get out of hand. However, I understand why people do them when they really can't get a piece of equipment in there to control the growth. Bummer about the wheel, hopefully it won't be too difficult to straighten out. A question of the day lets you know who actually got to the end of the video. ;) LOL Anyhow, great job and great camera work! :)
💥 Hi there Hank, well I subscribed and glad I did. You’ve got yourself a quality channel here and the video work is great, love all the angles. You’re not paying your videographer enough! 👍 Keep on tractoring!
Nice video I was gonna ask have u ever seen the flail mowers I got one to try and I love it I got one that's put out buy titan it's a 6 foot one and it hooks up to the PTO it will cut up to 3 inches
Control burns are a great method and I have several family members who do it for a living. I have swamp around the area so I don't think a control burn would be too dangerous for this piece of property 👍 thanks for the comment.
Gina did great on the camera work on this video!

Taking my tiny might to shop tomorrow so they can fix the leak. I am going to miss her while she is gone. I love my little tractor.
Hopefully it's quick👍 good luck buddy!
Looks like it worked out good and cut down nice
Yes sir. Got a little more to do, but it's gonna turn out nice. 👍
Brush hog of course is my answer.
The brush hog is an awesome implement 👍
Looking good, i have that same saw! I really need to work on my food plot.
That is a good saw. I've used it for years.

Yeah fire breaks would be essential. Thanks Bryon.👍

Yeah its still hot. lol. We have a few double tree root balls we need to clear before we are finished with this project. 👍
You should do a tip about Ticks. Are Ticks a big problem for you guys tooling around in all that brush?
Yeah we get them that's for sure. Gotta get your better half to check you for ticks😁👍
Looking good, Hank. Reminds me that I have to check my trail cams!
Thanks man! Hope you got some nice pics! Best of luck this season

LOL! I'm sure my wife will agree with you 😃
You have to be burning up in the heat down there.😥 That grapple is super handy.
Yes it is crazy hot. Gotta work in the morning and evening. Take a break during the day. 🔥
Hamiltonville Farm no doubt avoid heat cramps if you can. Those are brutal.
Nice, keep up the cook content
Thanks a lot 👍

QOTD, Bushhog
Looks Good Hank, Just think how much abuse those bush hogs take. Something bound to give sometimes.
True. Thanks for watching and leaving a comment. I appreciate it Joey
Bush hog it! I need the rookie tip
Yes sir👍 you need one for sure
Control burn. Then maintain afterwords.

young man ,
before u brush hog need change out grapple to loader bucket , an the loader bucket will find stump first
Good tip!
Controlled burn first then after that you can cut it.
Thanks for watching 👍
Maybe. A. Chainsaw. Sharpen. Wouldn't. Go. Astray. Either.
Right. Thanks for watching 👍
You may have damaged the wheel mowing backwards.
Better sharpen the chain.
LOL. I know. One day I'll actually sharpen my chains BEFORE I go into the woods.😃
