Great video Hank! Looks like a fun workshop!! We run a couple different Stihl saws. Been thinking about an upgrade, this was one on my list. Appreciate your thoughts, thanks for sharing! -Josh
Great subject Hank. I worked for local government in Sydney, Australia for 35 years. We had to do chainsaw training and refresher courses every 3 years for the last 25 years, I guess. There was crosscut for fallen timber and three levels of felling courses. These were done in the forest with real trees. Who ever would have guessed that a chainsaw was so damn dangerous if your not careful. Haha. Love your channel.
Is kickback still a problem or have they solved that? I remember when they sold chainsaws with metal guards on the end to prevent it. My dad had a Homelite with one on it. Those are some tall skinny pine trees!🌲 Good work Hank! You get an A+! 😄
You have no excuse too have a dull chainsaw anymore . 😂 Falling trees and looking professional is your future now 👍 . You have been trained by the best 👍
Letsdig18 let's call him and let him show everybody how to run asaw. Also let's bring in bobby goodson all TERRAIN logging !!!!!!!!! Goodson goodson goodson goodson
After having watched the vid over at Cotontop3, I was skeptical. BUT ... DEADEYE you were. Nicely done Hank. (I attended the class earlier in the month, and sure wanted to (but couldn’t) attend the felling one.) As stated in the comments of Tim’s vid, it would’ve been a huge win win to have been there with two of my favorite RUclipsrs! Enjoyed the video Hank.
The back cut you made at 10:00 is not very safe, you wouldn't want to do that in a real situation. It should be at least an inch higher in your case because it acts as a stop for the tree when it falls. Try to stick to your humboldt cuts and learn how to make classic cuts from the Europeans. Stay safe and don't teach others to make mistakes like that.
@@HamiltonvilleFarm BUT we'll see how it does with this sorry gas. I've about made my mind up to start running Tru-fuel in the 2-cycle stuff. Even the non-ethanol pump gas ain't EVEN close to it.
Looks like you ruined another U-tuber. Poor guy will never be the same. If I ever find a good carb for that 440 I do believe it'll run with that complicated job. I knew they had FI on the cutoff saws for a bit but now here they'll go with the rest. The 440 and the 261 are both commercial saws but the 45 Super would out cut both put together. But remember that there are 2 things you do NOT loan. Gina and your saw. I lent the 45 and that was the end of it. The rest is a different story but the same ending. Hold the sand down and GBWYall!
That was a fun weekend with some super nice weather!
Thanks brother 👍

So many poor saws being held wide open not even cutting wood
Poor equipment
