At the Teatro Metropolitan CDMX concert, we are given a rare treat. Pau comes out from behind the drums to sing the song stage front as her drum teacher plays in her place.

Yea but it’s actually song better and performed best when she’s on the kit , she was more out of breath out front than when singing and drumming and at times she looked like she did not know what to do with her self . The performance of this song at en vivid foro dido will always be the golden standard of the is song and performance of said song

‘Narcisista’ was written after their 2nd album (& debut EP) in response to a few Mexican music reporters who accused them of betraying their culture by writing in English. The ONE thing in all this world you DON’T do is piss off Paulina.
    EP ‘Escape the Mind’ 2015
    LP ‘XXI Century Blood’ 2017
LP ‘Queen of the Murder Scene’ 2018
Single ‘Narcisista’ (not on an album) 2019
LP ‘ERROR’ recorded 2020, released 2022 (first half released as an EP ‘Mayday’)
Single ‘Enter Sandman’ 2021 (on Metallica’s Blacklist album)

Narcissista is the first song I've ever heard in Spanish and now I can sing every word! It's worth listening to the studio version on your own time because Pau's voice is amazing with a little reverb.

Narcisista is a stand alone single they released in 2019 after Queen of the Murder Scene and before Error. Pau wrote it in response to some critics in Mexico who didn't like the fact that they wrote in English rather than Spanish. It quickly became a fan favorite and is still a staple of their live shows now. As far as I am aware, there have been 4 performances of this song where they bring out a guest drummer and allow Pau to go to the front of the stage and sing. The first time was at their Teatro Metropolitan CDMX concert in 2022 when Beto Ramos (Pau's drum teacher) filled in. Later in 2022 during the last two shows they opened for Halestorm, Arejay Hale sat in with them, and one other time in 2023 when Cachi (their usual guitar/bass tech who is actually a drummer by trade) filled in. Someone mentioned that it also happened when they toured with Eruca Sativa, but I haven't seen that video.

Narcisista is so full of attitude, rightfully so. This band was accused, by critics, of betraying their culture by writing and singing their songs in English. In every interview and many live performances, they are sure to let you know they are Mexican. They are true ambassadors to Mexico . Thanks for the reaction, take a rope into the rabbit hole to get out 😁

This song has been part of the encore with the closer being Evolve now that they've been headlining in Europe. There was never an English version recorded. Ale will start playing the single note progression from off stage and then slowly make her way out (followed by Dany and Pau). This roughly goes on 16 bars approximately before everyone kicks in (guitar riff with hi hats and bass drum). The way it's done now for the encore is a pretty amazing build up for the crowd. As soon as those early notes are played the audience gets into a frenzy.
If you want to go back further, the concept album Queen of the Murder Scene was performed live at Lunario CDMX can be seen here ruclips.net/p/PL9dOolr8ZGdAFE9jIIMjxz40h3wwhE8o2 What's cool is that Dany is in her full QOTMS regalia (complete with the makeup). I think this may be the only time they every played the entire album live, but The Army can correct me if I am wrong about that. #GetWarned
Going back to the first album XXI Century Blood there are a few great vids out the of them playing live, and of course there's the epic first video for the title track.

I still just love the smile on your face as you watch and listen to The Warning. It seems I'm either smiling or tearing up when I watch them on video. I don't just tear up for their more emotional songs but whenever I start to ponder the journey they have traveled to get where they are and who they have become. Going from delightful children to becoming the confident, humble, super talented, hard working young women they are now. It gets to me. And I wish i could have expressed all that in the couple of minutes I spent with them at the meet/n/greet before the concert in Portland Oregon a in 2022. Maybe next time.

It's not one of their early songs. It was released as a single between their 2nd and 3rd album. This is their first song in Spanish, and it's basically a response to criticism about them being narcissistic, and embracing foreign cultures (Malinchista) mostly for singing in English
Their 2nd album is called Queen of the Murder Scene. It's a concept album, quite complex in the narrative part. Very ambitious. And they were really young. You can check the full performance at Lunario on 2018 or Foro DiDi in 2019. Most of those songs are out of current setlists and considered deep cuts. Any song is fair game. My favorite is Crimson Queen

Have you heard "The Warning full Lunario Concert 2018." It's better than anything subsequent I've heard so far. Better in every way. And Dani plays a lot more lead, or maybe it's just a fresher sound than what I had been getting used to. Not really sure. But, overall It's shocking really. They were 18, 16, and 13 at the time. The actual concert starts at 13 minutes in. Edit: yeah, Dani kills it playing melody in the second half. I'm soo thrilled to see that. She seems to get her second wind on vocals, too. Amazing concert imho.
