They released that album November 25, 2018. So they wrote that song in 2017? Counting writing, recording, mixing, etc. They were 17, 15, 13. Crazy!!

The Warning invented a new genre: Cheerleader Punk. I didn't come up with that. Lots of TWA members refer to the song that way. And we love the entire QOTMS album. They recorded it for a 2018 album. So they were writing it in 2017-2018.

they did try to remove the "hey! hey! hey!" parts but they kept saying them so put them back in...
in the initial Lunario concert where the whole album was presented in its entirety, they had a large video screen behind Pau with tons of animation and images from the story... in one part during this song, Death was reaching its skeletal hand out like it was going to grab Pau... then Death bursting into flames... great visuals!

Queen of the Murder Scene is an album that deserves its video series for you. The Lunario show is the one to watch. You have to do the whole album due to the story. TimberWolf762 has a Google doc explaining each song and it's relation to the story.
this is also the concert where they close their 2 hour set with *Atlas Rise* as a special thing... it was the last time they played a cover as a band...

This is part of their second album Queen Of The Murder Scene, which is a concept album, that consist of an epilogue song and 4 chapters of 3 songs, the Lunario consist of all those, plus a song of their first album XXI Century Blood in between each chapter.
The Whiskey A-Go-Go in West Hollywood is only a 250 person venue, like the Troubadour a bout a mile a way. They have said each song even within the same album has it's own sound and personality. They fit the sound to each individual song, they don't try to make the song "a rock" song.
This is one of the final tracks to the Queen of the Murder Scene album, a concept album like "Brick in the Wall" and "Tommy" by the Who, but each song is different within the album.
Alejandra is playing is a 4 string bass at this time.
They said in a VLOG this song is hard to sing because they hardly have time to catch a breath.

You might consider doing live songs from the Lunario concert. It’s from November of 2018 so you get a different perspective of the band from 5 years ago. Such raw energy. It’s like the best garage band you’ve ever heard. Ale (almost 14) is a wild child at this show. Her most animated in my opinion. This concert presented the entire second album, Queen of the Murder Scene, with select songs from debut album mixed in.

They just arrived in Japan for their co-lab with BAND-MAID.
I agree about the punk rock and about just being able to feel but at the same time some of those riffs Dany is playing and singing aren't easy or natural to play and sing together. Two minds that are both very talented.
For that matter, Pau has said she’s also a big classical music fan - in one of their tour videos she identifies which movement of Vivaldi’s “The Four Seasons” a street musician is playing faster than I could.
Ale was 14 in this! Let that sink in.🤯🤯

Their birthdays are clustered around New Years so ages are easy: Year, -2 and -5: in 2019 they were 19, 17 and 14.
Album came out in 2018 my friend...they wrote the songs before that....teenagers, all of them when they composed this song and all of the QOTMS concept Album. Love the reactions.
The culmination of all the music the girls grew up with, The Warning are their own genre. There is this cute video of Dany playing an acoustic guitar singing Yellow Submarine with I think it's her dad ruclips.net/video/fEuzHiLJZK8/видео.html. I wish there was one with Ale back then when she started on bass at like 8 or 9, but I never found it.
You gotta check out the theatrical video for "XXI Century Blood", the title track from their first full album. They are even younger, but it's very punky and the video is totally cool.
Their brilliance was evident then. I started following them in 2017 or 2018 and have been a hard core Warning Army member since then. Nothing DPA do anymore suprises me. They are headed to the top and are unstoppable. Thank you for your 30 days series. Enjoy your unique reviews.

2019, Ale, the bassist, was 14. They wrote this in 2017/18, recorded it in 2018, released Nov 2018.
Their ages are easy to remember. Dany was born in Jan 2000, Pau Feb 2002, Ale Dec 2004, so Dany's age generally matches the last two digits of the year, Pau is 2 years behind her and most of the year Ale is 3 years behind Pau. She's only in that 2 year span for about 6 weeks.
Man, Punk has evolved since the Saicos and El Gato Mayor, 1966.

This song is so wordy that during the Lunario CDMX 2018 premiere of the song, Pau sings Copper Bullets which was the song before this one on in the set to give Dany a rest. Copper Bullets on the album is a Dany song. It wasn't even planned from what I've read.

Demented Cheerleader Punk. *P.S.Y.C.H.O.T.I.C.* is hilarious and horrific at the same time. I would love to hear a high school cheerleader squad do a routine with it, and watch the principal melt down. Great performance. The whole *Queen of the Murder Scene* album is a total mind warp and many consider it a feat of prodigal genius. The Lunario 2018 debut of the album concert is the reference. It's raw, real, a little rough, emotional, and moving. They were 13, 16, and 18 then. This is one of my favorites from their second album.
yep! Dany really got into character, too... i recall her saying something about "being in character for the whole week"... seem to also recall something about feeling grimy or dirty afterward...

Glad to see you checking out some of the older venue performances like the Whiskey. These girls understand music theory and use it so well to their advantage in every song. when the day come to stream a concert lots will say Teatro but Id also have you consider their UK Private acoustic set, professionally shot and intimate so you see them interact with each other between songs differently then in a bigger show. AND at that you can stream on Kick or Twitch and not get bugged, just something to keep in mind and look at possibly.
It has been cool watching you get into these young ladies. I would suggest either of their 2016 or 2017 TedX performances as again you get to see a different side of them. and AT THE TIME they were the first musical act asked to come back for 2017. each are 3 songs but you will really enjoy them. cioa fro now bud
