      Also, your main export is people. It's a terrible economic strategy! You'll never fix the economy with the amount of people who are leaving. Even if the government got better it would still be nearly impossible to fix the issue with how many people are leaving. The workforce if stagnant. The economy is completely dependent on exported people sending money back. It's not good. Realistically, you shouldn't need American money in the first place. You need people to work and your government needs get out of the way, lower your taxes so you can invest more money in your businesses. It should have nothing to do with US money not reaching you. Welfare should be irrelevant.

      Actually the Guatemalan will have a better life than your average American. I work in a convenience store in florida. My neighborhood is 90%guatemalan. They make $500 a week as landscapers (they dont make that in 3 months in guatemala). They live 5 to a house sharing the rent. They do everything together sharing in the costs. They send $75 to $100 back home each week. They drink more Modelo and Corona than any human being alive lool. At the end of the week they still have $200 to do whatever they want with. Trust me they are having a great time here. And FYI, they are probably the nicest people youll ever meet. Ive worked at other stores in the past with a whole different demographic, and I would choose the Guatemalan any day of the week over some other people.

      All those people need to be sent right back. The USA has its own issues.

    • @rabbit251
      @rabbit251 3 года назад +9

      Like any problem like this the cause and answer is much more complex.
      I am a semi-retired attorney now working in Japan for Hitachi. Previously I took on a pro-bono case of a young Guatemalan woman. At that time the US under Reagan offered conditional amnesty only until conditions in Guatemala improved. I was able to prove my case. Back in the 80s the country was racked by civil war. Eventually the US got the two sides to call a truce. But the problem in Guatemala today is the same and that little has changed since then. The military regularly goes out and massacres a whole village to send a message to the peasants in the countryside. Since the civil war the government hasn't changed. Given the poverty and chance that the army will show up randomly any day and kill you, you would flee also.
      If I was back in the US now working pro-bono to help these people, I believe I could win just as I did before. That is the law.
      But is that the answer to the problem? Obviously not. Biden should be working with these governments like we do with the drug wars and weed out the corrupt officials. Unaccompanied children should be sent back to their home countries, given a number and the US should work with them to care for the kids until their parents come and get them. It should be made clear that no one is getting into the US based upon economic conditions alone. The few that have actual credible cases should be allowed to return. This would be a significantly small number.
      I could go on about how the US needs to change manufacturing from China to India or Mexico, but that is a much longer and even more detailed discussion. But it is amazing how little information Americans have and their incredible lack of humanity.

      In countries like Guatemala, particularly in areas like hers, they don't have home phones home computers ... etc. No one could possibly afford them because there is no public infrastructure for it, such as telephone polls ...etc. It's much cheaper to buy prepaid phones which are roughly $25. Sometimes they're the used phones from other countries. Having a cell phone for $25 and pay $5-10 a month for data is essential over there since it's a life line and they don't have phones to communicate with anyone outside their town, also the government uses it to communicate with the people if they need to. Such as emergency warnings for floods, medical advice ... etc.
      .
      It's not the same concept as it in the US where people get the newest iPhone or Android for $1600 and $75 a month for data and features.
      .
      Also, obesity in common in poor communities because their diets mostly consist of corn (breads made from corn) and other starchy foods. Corn and starch turns to sugar. They don't have anywhere near enough protein and green vegetables.

      These are not refugees. They're being brought to the U.S. by government contractors and this mass migration was planned years ago. Amazon employees and gig workers at Uber, Lyft, DoorDash, etc. are trying to unionize and these companies are recruiting replacement workers from all over the world. The federal government and the U.S. Chamber Of Commerce are also funding immigration lawyers to finagle the system to help these migrants get into the country and onto social services.
      In fact, thousands of migrants from all over the world have already been resettled in the U.S. and the cost of providing them with social and economic services is placing an enormous burden on the communities where they're now residing.

      By the way, if you want to know who's really behind the mass immigration, do a search for "Partnership For A New American Economy" at www.newamericaneconomy.org/ and you will see all the multinational corporations who want to replace every damn last American worker with immigrant labor.
      Then there's the "Open Society Foundation run by George Soros who's funding all this mass migration.

If that's ABJECT POVERTY then we should spread it throughout the world. What Guatemala needs is a Democrat leader to put Planned Parenthood Clinics on every street corner. And send Dr Kermit Gosnell down there too!

    I'm a Latin American. Truly do I feel sorry for the people in dire need, I truly do but the problem is that a lot of immigrants find jobs & even reach to manager, supervisor positions in Hispanic communities by stealing or using someone else's social security numbers, you ask how do I know because mines was stolen twice by two immigrants managers using other people's socialial security numbers, they are hard workers no doubt & often have favoritism at work & reward their besties with someone else's social security numbers that no longer works with them, they do keep the names & ssn. & sometimes they buy these in Hispanic communities & that truly bothers me! That's unfair & unjust the risk of ruining someone else's credit score. The government should do something about that because it's quite systemic here in los angeles. I have heard horrible stories on how some are being killed on the way, they do need help & that makes me sad! But the Gov needs to do something about social security numbers being malused & stolen it's quite harmful to us who are trying our best to build our credit score& damages.

      You are obviously a well-educated Latin trying to help our fellow man;
      Things don't just "get " better, it takes government intervention from governments that are properly managed;
      Not just a bunch of fake administrators with a personal agenda.
      maybe you could help the mother with her thirty children in Africa, asking for other countries to support her family ? We can't.
      America's always helping the underdog; Wouldn't it be more financially efficient to HELP CORRECT Guatemala's government to change, than to import all of their people ? Seriously? And China limits their offspring as we do because WE can't afford more than two children either: Don't all of the Catholics in Guatemala keep refusing birth control ? WE have to keep our own population balanced; coming here with twelve children can't possibly help US now , can it ? China knew this decades ago, yes ?
      btw THE IMMUNE BOOSTERS FOR THE COVERTS; 20 and 21 with fancy new names ? Bromaline and NAC.
      zinc and D.

    Most of the Guatemalans I know would rather be in Guatemala. Opportunities for the people would allow them to have stable lives and they would stay home where they wish to be anyway. The USA needs to rectify this as we are the ones who created the banana republic in the first place. The immigration problem is a response to what the USA has done there for 140 years..
