Call of Duty WW2 has some sweaty players and Wager matches do get heated sometimes, but last night's police murder was extreme. The short version is, one player swatted another over a $2 match and he ended up shot by police. This video about the details of the event, Swatting as a crime, a little bit about the person responsible, and some person stories about the police killing my dog along with my fear of being swatted.

I'm flabbergasted at the amount of people that aren't taking this seriously and don't care. This is the definition of tragic. I hope the people responsible are charged to the full extent of the law.
Zuxtra the full extent of the law is the death penalty or life sentence which is a bit too much for a prank gone wrong but i agree there should be a fairly severe punishment for this
Roman Fanboy No1 Vince Mcmahon For the swatter with repeat offenses, he should absolutely get the harshest possible punishment. Life or death, i don’t care. He is clearly fucked up
Roman Fanboy No1 Vince Mcmahon A prank gone wrong? Swatting is not a joke or a prank. It is something extremely serious that can take someones life as it happened here. Only stupid people who want 5 minutes of fame on the internet and want to somewhat feel superior. Death penalty honestly seems fair to discourage people from doing this.
Roman Fanboy No1 Vince Mcmahon a prank? Sending law enforcement as deadly as the swat to someone’s house shouldn’t be ever considered a prank and this whole situation shows why if you think swatting is considered a prank you need to be in jail as well
Roman Fanboy No1 Vince Mcmahon I don't think you understand how the judicial system or capital punishment works.
Hopefully there's serious ramifications over this. A lot of major RUclipsrs/streamers have had to do things like notify pizza, police, and other delivery services because of "prank" calls in advance. It's not only a huge waste of time and resources for the cops but it's now just gotten someone not even involved killed.
Reaper that is usually only around 12 months in prison though. I think swatters should get around 5 years
Reaper id argue it as manslaughter
Reaper at least in the texting and driving case, they're not maliciously targeting someone. It's an accident. The swatters are intentionally sending a swat team to someone's house. I think it should be treated more seriously.
Man murdered for 2 dollars playing cod. Doesn't stop ads from being played on this video though. Well done
pizza delivery what are you talking about ?
The kid who made the fake call should be charged with manslaughter, or if the state allows, 1st degree murder. Some states do allow that if you plan to break the law, break the law and a person dies as a result, 1st degree murder could be charged.
The kids who gave the address and contacted the Swatter should also be charged. The Officer who shot the man should also be charged, because as far as I know, the man didn't have anything and the police didn't give him a warning before gunning him down.
If this were 1970s China he'd be disappeared.
If this were 1970s China he'd be disappeared.
Jimmy Sannhetsverd the swatter didn’t have intent to kill. I’m saying involuntary manslaughter
Grim reaper ahh gotcha what’s max for that in california?
The penalty for calling in the SWAT teams should be prosecuted for the crime they called in. Guy calls in " i just killed my wife and have my kids hostage" Then they should face the charges for murder and false imprisonment. 1 charge of 25 to life and a false imprisonment charge which since in this false narrative would probably be considered a felony can lead to 20 years. That might be one way to deter these assholes
Kippa I agree it is actually a very good solution other than having a whole swatt law system where there are different degrees of it. But I doubt it will happen soon if at all.
RIP the victims of this asshole’s mistakes.
Every swatting should be attempted murder (if nobody is hurt) or murder when someone is killed. Also, when the swat member kills someone because they panicked, they should also be penalized. If the swat member is so terrified that she or he will shoot first as erring in the side of caution, they should consider working at Walmart or somewhere else instead. The erring on the side of caution should be towards civilian safety over the cop’s safety since the cops are paid highly to protect the civilians, not the other way around.
It's not that simple since a swat officer, or any law enforcement is trained to take down a possible threat to prevent any harm to the officers, bystanders, or even the suspect themselves. If a person reaches down to their waist for any reason after a swat team gets a report of a possible gun threat, they have a fair reason to assume that the suspect is reaching for a gun. It really blows and it's tragic, but it's required to keep the officers and others safe. If cops were more laid back, and say this guy did actually have a gun he could've wounded or killed an officer. That's not a chance they're trained to take, sad but required for the greater good. If it weren't for liitle shits like the swatter, this wouldn't be a debate really since these cops followed procedure properly.
Paid highly? What planet do you live on son?
MrNewbhero wtf paid highly
LOL
Oh how humanity slips further and further from salvation....
Isaiah Woods lol salvation?

“This is nothing but two idiots and one dead body.” I wanna see you say this to the family of the innocent man who was shot. All the events of genocide you mentioned are horrible, but this is still a tragedy nonetheless.
LG out of topic, but it reminda me of someone who said "the death of 1 is a tradgedy, the death if millions is a statistic"
"Human Is Evolving Just Backwards"
-Felix Keljerberg
Honestly the guy who swatted him should be punished as if he murdered him himself.
he plead gulty to involuntary manslaughter and got 20 years in prison
It is interesting to note that mainstream news outlets reporting this (like CNN) don’t mention that the swatter got the wrong address and they don’t mention the 2 people who started this over the wager match
It's all fun and games until someone actually gets killed .
matthew kluge Sad thing is, is that some people just don't care. :/
Mathew, I understand the fun in doing it but if police were professionals and not trigger happy, no one that is innocent and unarmed should ever get killed over a prank. Deadly force is to be used only as a last resort. The cop used deadly force against an innocent unarmed man, not justifiable usage.
You actually think swatting is "all fun and games"?
Here I come, rougher than the rest of them! It's a figure of speech , look up the meaning of it ? 30 other people understood it .
matthew, so is that a yes or no.
as a criminal justice student im fairly sure he can be charged under the felony murder doctrine
jerry dickerson really? But he didn’t have intent to kill. I’m not challenging you since you’re a criminal justice student (i’ll lose). I just wanna know why murder.
Filing a false police report in this situation is a felony. If someone dies during the commission of a felony you are committing then you are guilty of their murder, whether you intended for them to die or not.
Their is a prosecutorial argument that he knew one of the consequences could have resulted in death so knowing that and doing it anyway could be construed as intent in sort the felony murder doctrine as an example is you rob a bank with a gun the gun goes off and kills someone even if you had no intent in killing that person by you bringing a gun you showed an intent to possibly use lethal force so you can be charged with first degree murder under the felony murder doctrine the same principle can be applied to this case
because there is no way he could have not known that the cops could have killed someone and the knowledge of that can be enough to prove intent
Under the felony murder doctrine they don't even have to show intent. They just have to prove that the death was caused by the defendant engaging in a felony. Since filing a false report is a felony in this situation, that would mean he is guilty of murder regardless of if they can prove intent.
Great video I just got swatted this passed Sunday just doing a live stream . I definitely agree with you on the law needs to be attempted murder if nobody gets hurt if somebody dies during the SWAT first degree murder for the person who called in the SWAT and the felony that goes along with the falsification of the 911 call great video man keep them coming
That swatter finna have a dude named Tyrone all in his backbone
cmon bruh wtf
Hey driftor. Good video and I really appreciate you not stating the guys name and speaking around him. People like that don't deserve to even be infamous.
I really appreciate that you can calmly and thoroughly talk about big issues like this.
What is going on in America? That's crazy
Ragnar Lothbrok _ Brown people ruined everything.
Sir Regenald Fisty McAssplug the 34th
Browns haven't shot up schools and get innocent people killed.
Sir Regenald Fisty McAssplug the 34th What does race have to do with this?
This has been centuries in the making. Watch Bowling For Columbine if you want a more thorough explanation, but generations of people raised on fear of each other with quick and legal means of obtaining firearms are just bound to kill each other.
Eugenes acting like tough guys on the internet is what’s happening.
Thankfully, police officers/SWAT members are becoming more aware of the swatting community and usually how to deal with the victim relatively peacefully, but there only needs to be one swat officer out of touch with technology and trigger-happy...
"Trigger happy" If I see someone reach for their waist, I'm going to do something about it. Oh yes, let me just sit there to see if it's not a gun. Oh darn it was and now I'm dead, That ruined my day, at least I learned for next time.
Darth Cerebus 😂😂 "oh darn"
Darth Cerebus Yeah, of course it's a bad idea to reach for your waist when there's guns pointed at you. Everybody should know not to do that and be cautious around police with guns out, so I can understand the police's side if they are acting out of self defense and to protect the other officers. I'm pretty sure the man shot in the incident Drift0r is speaking about did his best to come off as peaceful and follow their directions as best he could.
You know what bugs me. If this was a real murder or hostage situation don't you think they'd receive more than one isolated call?
Like Jesus Christ the call isn't even convincing.
Not necessarily. Not everyone calls the police about everything. In fact I remember learning some time ago about a case where a woman in some city was hurt or dying and she screamed for quite some time, but she died because nobody bothered enough to call the police. It does happen.
People keep themselves away from incidents so they can have a degree of separation. 99% of the population will freeze and rather be bystanders.
Like how self defense classes teach women to yell "FIRE FIRE" instead of "HELP" because literally nobody goes to help when screams are heard.
It doesn't necesarilly (I hate spelling that word) need to be convincing. The police can't just ignore a phone call.
That One Guy Named Matt they would get sued if this didn't treat an isolated call seriously and something happens.
Zimbabwai POV Don't ignore it but take it with a grain of salt, especially since there was claims of a gunshot yet the neighbours didn't make any reports.
Edit: I'm not sure how it is in the states but in Canada (in the communities I've lived in) the neighbors will debate calling the cops in a heartbeat if they think violence will take place.
driftor contact your local police force departments are working more and more with RUclipsrs to prevent things like this
I'm glad they got caught
JamaicanGamer No They Didnt
No matter of what they said in swatting calles they should get charges on wasting police resources from the beginning right
Back in my day, we just muted/blocked.
I started watching your channel a few days ago and you are already one of my favorite youtuber
I didn't know about the dog thing... It changes swatting for me from fucked up to purly evil!
Ukash M yeah the dog thing is serious man I don’t work in the force myself I’m in a security firm but one of the things they told us in training is “you see a animal put it down they’re unknown variables”
Just wanted to say thank you drift0r for this video I live about 45min from Wichita KS where this happened at it's truly a very sad deal, once again ty
The most guilty people here are the swatter, the person who hired the swatter, and the trigger-happy cop
Sir Grimm or because there are a lot of power-fueled cops who jump at the chance to cap a guy when there's only a suspicion on them
Both right. I get why he shot - but with so many officers surrounding, they should have waited to SEE a gun, or anything in his hand before firing. If they begin to see him draw (no suspect) - they can kill him before he gets the opportunity, I mean they already had their guns drawn, and there were heaps of officers, there is no way the man could have drawn a gun and fired in this time.
RK9 exactly. the cop who shot him was across the street with a sniper rifle. if he's so scared that he has to pull the trigger based on the slightest movement then it sounds like he's not very fit to be holding a gun.
I didn't realise he had a sniper - that is even worse than I thought... damn. BTW, I like your Bannete pic.
Hannahhusky I strongly disagree. Ofcourse the swatter, the guy who hired them are to blame. The guy who gave the adress was NOT expecting a swatting. But I disagree over the cop part. He was doing his job. Swat teams are serious, like Driftor explained. You seem to have some kind of hate for cops, and I get that some of them are assholes, but these are not regular cops.
Still it's tragic that this all happened. Getting killed over 2 dollars. May he rest in peace
I’m an ex cop and tactical officer. I agree with 96% of what you are saying. Tragic and evil situation that needs to be addressed.
So we could just call the police on people we don’t like and have them show up to be our personal firing squad....?
no, don't you turn this thing that is completely unrelated to race into a racial thing.
Sean McGee IT WASN’T ME!
It was Jimmy ^^^^^
MrBraaddd not racist when your abusing white people is it 😁fuck off this has nothing to do with race
Dimetroz I did not make that racist comment look at the people who replied to my original comment.
MrBraaddd nah my b I thought it was direct to him.
Swat: coming in Me: Say hello to my litt-
The fact that 2 children no longer have a father over a 1.50 is just....... I can't even express my anger.
Tip if you're swatted: Interlace your fingers and put your hands on top of your head, and listen to commands. If you can't understand the commands, stay still with your hands on your head until you can understand. As an officer, that's the best thing you can possibly do. Stay safe. The FBI needs to start charging more for this, maybe this incident will jump start something.
Thanks for the advice man, I really appreciate it
"To get swatted" should not even be on your vocabulary. It is a CLEAR violation or you basic humans rights and liberties and it only demonstrates that the USA is a police state that is rapidly heading to a military dictatorship (as it has been and still is the fashion in the Americas anyway) and soon your will have curfews, martial law and soldiers snipping you on the streets after midnight.
LEO here, I'm not sure how departments handle things where you live, but the dept I work for, you can contact the local non emergency number and talk to dispatchers. You can ask to speak with the dispatchers supervisor and then explain the situation and your profession. (Include the stories and articles about this latest death that resulted from swatting) and ask for your residence to be flagged for something like this. We have the ability to see certain precautions and flags that are tied with a residence. You should be able to get further by calling the dispatchers with the non emergency number, rather than going to a police station itself.
I think the person who asked for swat is at fault, but I think the officer may be at fault too.
Chrispy Chreme yea and the person who sent the fake address should get it too 3 people need to go to court for this situation.
The SWAT has multiple ways to deal with a suspect, especially if the the said suspect looks to be unarmed. That SWAT member (let's call if just a trigger-happy sociopath) who shot and killed that man should spend the rest of his life in prison, among his fellow killers.
Ghola Tleilaxu “looked to be unarmed” he was suspected to have a handgun those are pretty easy to hide in a waist band. The officers lives were in danger, they were in a populated neighborhood and a stray round could hit another innocent, and he failed to comply with orders and reached for his waistband
@@nathanlong8295 all three people got charged, dude that called got 20 years
The Swatter should be arrested and charged with murder. The Swat Team should also be held accountable for the mistake of shooting the guy.
Good video. Really informative and well made.
My experience, I’ve worked hostage standoff’s and raids with SWAT as a Medic and it is INTENSE! It’s far more intimidating in real life than even watching Video.
If you fear getting swatted contact local police.. and let them know that youre a large streamer/youtuber. explain the possible treats, that could possibly prevent the police from guns blazing and losing life
14:15
Well then if you are an actual criminal who is a streamer and the police don't respond seriously then lives could be at risk
How is that cop not in prison for life...seriously? That’s 100% murder. No reason to shoot that poor guy
Both the guy who did the swatting, and the guy who hired him should face charges, and thats how it always should be, if I hired a hitman, I would get charged right alonside the guy, this isnt a harmless prank, its not just putting someones life on the line, its wasting the policies time, while they are out there, dealing with that, a real threat could arise and they cant help, also doesnt help cops in the US have got twitchy as hell and a little trigger happy but in this case its not a matter of police shot an innocent guy, its a case of two people caused the death of an innocent man over a petty bet and a twisted desire to mess with people, what the hell is wrong with people
Found this while looking for the story. Great break down, better than the actual news I've seen. As a guild leader I've had the threat of swatting in terms of WoW several times over the years so it's something that I take very seriously. Also, Call of Duty WWII looks amazing, I may get that.
It's actually $1.50, I can see through your clickbait
Driftor is a clixk baetaer
Does it matter? $1.50 is basically $2
droid root actually yes it does matter. $1.50 is different than $2.00 facts are facts and no matter how small a fact is we should not change a fact.
You round to the nearest ten
Jimmy Sannhetsverd pretty sure he was joking
I thought this was just going to be another one of those videos that just talk about what’s going on but I love all your extra input and thoughts on the subject.... it would definitely make me uneasy if I was a RUclipsr/ streamer
They need to release the body cam footage or else the police officer should be held responsible too, bad cops get away with too much nowadays
The Trolling Tryhard the guy reached where a gun would be.
A police officer's job is to protect the people around him, the cops were told the guy had a fire arm on him
Professor Broman did a video in response to this recent SWATting, too. His video is more instructional, about how to approach your local police office and such, but any awareness spread about this issue is good.
These sociopaths need to realize that having any part in a chain of actions that is likely to result in the harming, or death, of another person, is NOT a prank.
Actually $1.50
That’s irrelevant lmao
turboneon414 too soon lol
Raining Potatoes wasnt making a joke at all, just a fan of getting facts right.
Round it upto $2
Even if it was a wager of 1 million it would still be disgusting and murder
Wow man, thanks for this insightful discussion. My sister is a police officer. I want to bring this to her attention. This needs to be talked about. This is deadly sickening. I'm just... Wow.
driftor sleeping with the GAT #teamnolacking
I'm scared... Congratulations on 1.3 million subs btw! :)
This guy was caught look up Tyler Raj Barriss
Indian, i knew it.
the guy who got killed wasn't even involved in the match, the guy who he wanted swatted gave him a fake address that led to him
People need to get lives. Like the hell?
I’ve actually seen the video of the victim getting shot, and I must say that it was pretty much a public execution of an unarmed man that posed no immediate threat to the massive amount of cops that were pointing rifles at him.
yup. even if he had a gun, the odds of him hitting someone from that distance are super low. should have IDd a gun before they shot at the VERY LEAST if not waited for him to point it
Both the swatter and the cop who pulled the trigger should be procecuted
Cop should be in jail, dude who called the cops should be there too
Collin Halligan why should the cop be in jail the guy reached where a gun would be and the cop had an option either shoot or possibly die or the hostages die
Vyidos there was no hostage
Jc sensation yeah thanks hindsight is 20/20 the cop was told from the call that their was a hostage they have to go off the information they had and that was that an armed and dangerous man had 2 hostages and had poured gasoline around the house. From what the cop knew if the pulled what could have been a gun or match from his waist he could die or worse the hostages.
Collin Halligan The Corp who killed him is on leave but the swatted should be put to death for first degree murder
J P lol WOW I guess we should tell cops to treat all calls with that mindset.
That's totally a great idea.
Driftor, sorry to hear all your troubles just because you make good youtube videos. I enjoy watching your cod in depth and getting tips from them, please keep up the good work and stay safe man.
for 1,5$
1.50
Mephistopheles in some places the comma and decimal are switched so it would be 1,50 for them
yeah theyre wrong
Mephistopheles did you not read what I said?
i did
absolutely disgusting, this "kid" should be locked away for life, no parole, no "good behaviour" shortening of his sentence. shocking
Murica's police in a nutshell. Shoot first, think last
HeavySandvichGuy1 it was a horrible accident. No need to come to a general conclusion of all officers. This is the first time someone's been killed during a fake swatting incident in a while.
A few weeks ago there was a report about a drunk guy being shot by the officer that likes to play a game called "Simon says. But if you lose, you die".
As KevinRuddGaming said, police must be trained professionals. They must have good reaction. People getting shot by police, because "I though he had a gun"
I'm not a fan of any kind of government official or representative, as I think they're either unnecessary or easily replaceable, but the situation doesn't give a lot of time for thinking, questioning, or anything.
In this case, they were assuming a teen was holding a gun to his sister and mother, wondering whether or not to pull the trigger.
While, yes, it does sound like an itchy trigger finger, I haven't seen the video yet and can't determine whether the twitch was small or alarming.
Either way, their job is to save lives, and in most cases, shooting has gotten less people killed than taking too long to think.
I never take the cops side, but this situation just seems terrible and anxious, and don't think anyone there was entirely in their right mind.
Professional swat cops can execute a hostage situation without any casualties from terrorists side, hostage side and their own.
These are not professionals. They're just murderers, that joined swat only to kill someone
The guy was told to put his hands up and continually put them down. He then did it again but turned to the side and reached for his waist and drew his arm up quickly so the cop on opposite side of him shot him because he thought he pulled a gun. He only shot once so no he didn't do it just to kill some one.
To be honest, if you were to S.W.A.T someone and the victim eventually died, you deserve a LIFE sentence.
I'm seeing a bunch of rather dumb comments.
$2 is the result of rounding up $1.50. Come on man.
The cop is no way at fault unless he used unnecessary violence onto the victim that did not indicate any threat. From this video the pro swatter is at fault as well as the one who hired him. They are not innocent. They should full well know that death is a possibility. They understood that this person would die. And if they claim they didn't then ignorance is not a valid defense. The swatters are at fault. Not the cop until further proof shows he used unnecessary action.
(If there I'd body cam footage please let me know)
XDARKFUTUREX IIRC the police lieutenant said the guy didn’t do anything to warrant shooting him, don’t remember exactly what was said, but it was in a news article somewhere
XDARKFUTUREX there is body cam footage the police say put your hands up. He puts his hands up and instantly gets shot.
He got shot cause he put his hands down everytime making look like he was grabbing a gun, im sorry put if the police say put your hands up just do it. Damn im sorry for what happen but why do people just not listen and do what they are told. Damn.
Cop killing unarmed black person: RIOT!!!
Cop killing unarmed white person: Not the cops fault.
WOT?
Sam L I haven't seen the video man chill I'm busy and idc about race. If the cop is good he's good if not then no. I'll watch the vid later tonight.
*also some black killings for sure were unreasonable. Others maybe not it depends
Awful, just awful. Words can’t explain how terrible this is
Well, this does not have much to do with cod, this could have been every competetive fps game. Media just likes to put cod in the title because cod bashing always brings views.
Jakob Mann Well if the game they were playing was call of duty, that seems like a pretty important detail to me. You also can't really say the media just likes to bash cod when someone dies from it. I like call of duty and rainbow six but if I was a reporter that seems like a pretty fair reason to bash a game.
Henry Samson why is it important that they were cod players? The story really does not change much when you replace cod with bf1 for example. I mean it might be an important detail but i saw articles that started with "call of duty: man dies because of swatting", they start with cod to attract attention.
Jakob Mann I meantbmore that it matters that were playing video games in general because it seems important to me that someone's death all happenes from a video game wager
Henry Samson that i agree on.
Have you ever heard of something like this happening in the r6s community or even csgo? No cod is toxic and this is a result of the kids in that toxicity
"I don't think I should do life or get charged with murder."
Someone doesn't know the definition of "involuntary manslaughter".
Sounds about white.
*rim shot*
The dude who called 911 doesn't look white
droid root he is
z3nkin imagine saying that about a black person 🙄🙄🙄🙄
Souns about you aren't right 😎
Thank you for posting the gofundme for the family. I donated. The gaming community HAS to be better than this.
Blame the try hards who started it; not so sure about the cop though. I can’t definitively say but people should keep a cool head; granted this was a life or death situation to their knowledge at the time and people can get jumpy in those types of situations. I’m just saying; not trying to start a debate but there it is.
The cop had the choice of acting, or risk getting shot.
I don't blame the try hards who were arguing and sending fake addresses - they had no intent. The one who escalated the scenario and swatted - he it the real culprit. idk about the cop either though... I'm on the fence.
Drift0r, I work in public safety, and although we have not had any swatting done at our agency or any local agency's I can tell you we've had numerous discussions about it, and we are trying to find a solution to responding, unfortunately, we must take every call serious and we respond to every call as if it where real, the moment we don't take a call serious is the time someone actually does die, or an officer is killed. This is horrible, my heart goes out to all the families effected by this. Take care man!
Derek Worth I hope you never have to deal with a situation like this
Hello
After almost two years of service, I actually never been on a prank call nor a hostage situation but I can tell that these unfunny pranks cost human lives. Swatting someone for any reason is disturbing, twisted and sick. I hope that this trend will eventually stop someday.
Your country`s gun culture creates scenario where a "twitchy" policeman takes no chances when entering a house baited or not, I cannot blame any Officer for that because his/her own life is at serious risk. I used to dream of visiting the states as a youngster but I very rarely ever hear anything positive about your country and its almost every week I hear the same sad tales told, its very sad really. The real issue here is an ancient reliance on firearms, and how firearms raise the odds of someone dying in these kinds of circumstances. (Unlike the UK) To me the US is almost stuck in this wild west era shoot to kill or shoot or be shot. I pity the day I am forced to buy a firearm, only for the reason that I have to one day use it in fear.
G3mini Uk I’d rather have a gun to defend myself from a threat in the US than have some guy run up to me with a knife, stab me to death and hope some cop with a baton and pepper spray stops him in the UK. America is not the Wild West where everyone can die at any moment. We’re not lawless criminals who use guns to kill everything. We were given guns by the constitution to defend ourselves from threats and intruders and law-abiding citizens use our rights to use guns as self defense and the criminals go against the gun laws put in place and use guns to kill for no reason.
And why do you pity the day you’d need to buy a gun to protect yourself? You’re ashamed of yourself to want to protect you and any civilian in danger?
See thats the deep set mentality I was on about...always aggression always have a gun in my holster ready to draw pow pow pow....take it from me you guys need to lose that mentality because how these events are covered in the media and how frequently they are covered shames your country rightly or wrongly. the culture of "I need a gun to defend myself". I never said just because you have guns you want to kill everything. The point I`m making is that in the uk we have knife crime but its in minor pockets of society and the vast majority of police dont need guns....there`s just no need for them. The fact that we know all know Drift0r to be a normal guy sleeping with a pistol in fear reinforces my point and it is a terribly sad thing...you might not be wild west killers buddy but when we in Europe hear day in day out about this kind of thing...we just cannot fathom how it persistently happens over and over again
Completely agree with you Paradox anything can be used as a weapon but Im not talking about good old days Im talking about now. there was a situation that escalated into completely unfair, unwarranted and dangerous scenario because when the Swatter called the police "I`m holding a GUN at my Mother and Brother". With firearms mentioned it then becomes life and death for ALL those implicated. All Im saying is that the US is viewed a very dangerous place to be because of it and its sad because The US and The UK are very old friends. I too hope all involved get locked up and never see the light of day
nothing to do with being ashamed and this is the biggest thing people in the US just dont get. There is simply no need for me to buy a gun to to protect myself or any other civilian in this country. We have a culture when guns arent a big deal and therefore less people are shot and killed, any situation involving any kind of police incident has a much lower risk that some poor coppers gonna end up killing someone because its either him or me or the guy went to scratch his arse nervously. I assure you my friend If I were in a war zone and it was protect myself or civilians I would...Im not in a warzone though.
Poor guy, he didn't understand what was happening all he did was did a funky move then lights out for him. Honestly I hope 2018 is a great year for youtubers/streamers/etc. I wish all the content creators protection this year. Well tomorrow is a new year and I hope you have a great year!
Evil kek, but yes its gone way to far. Also the police is kinda derp here.
look at the video in the second link of the description, if you were a swat officer on edge and a guy reaches to his waist then back up again, you're not waiting to see if he shoots or not. I know he didn't have a gun but his movement would be easily confused with someone drawing a gun
Scott Wilson nah, cops are bastards.
Scott Wilson so what we have? A drunk and nervous guy. His arms are shaking, he's afraind. ~ 3-4 seconds to get a gun from behind, point at 1 cop and shoot him vs a (looks like not) trained police"man", who has a gun pointed at a guy, must have good reaction time + average reaction time in the world is less than 1 second, so he should have enough time to see that there's no gun.
Oh. And his rifle says "You're fucked".
Just a murderer in cop uniform
9:18 "But I do get recer..Pewdiepie. But I do get recognized pretty often." Lol
Making money off someone's death....figured this was a Chaos or TMARTN vid...
This effects the whole cod community because two people were arguing about the bet. Also, Driftor put in his time for this video, he didn't had to make this video, but he chose to.
All you know Drift0r has this video not monetize...
Spoil-t This video started with an ad. Definitely monetised.
It’s a PSA we need to discuss this if you play COD you are a part of this!
Of course the only thing you think of from this video is about driftor making money. This is a real problem and it needs to be addressed and noticed that this is a serious problem.
“Sweaty try hards” 😂😂😭😂😂 💀
Can we all agree that cops are just trigger happy?
xXGhost DragonXx no!
Not all just the bad ones
How about no?
As far as they knew, the only person who wasn't tied up in a closet was a person with a gun and homicidal tendencies. So as far as they knew, the guy they saw was that guy. I don't know about you, but I'd be pretty on edge in a gun standoff with (as far as they knew at the time) some crazy suicidal person.
Not all. This case involved swatters FIRST TIME and the intel they got was he was ARMED and have already shot his father
No. He reached where a gun would be which is a threat.
Ik its not the important thing but i was in la when this happened, and the victim was a 28 yr old man with 2 kids, shot by swat because it seemed he was reaching for a weapon, the mother was contacted soon after it was found that the la local was a swatter already known by lapd,if the sentence is true he faces 10 to 12 years in prison for swatting, public offense, and some other charges, swat has the official video of when they shot the victim after being false advised. The suspect called in on kansas police portraying as the victim saying he had hostages, armed, and had gas surrounding the house. (This happened around 20 to 30 hours ago,if you want more info check cbs or online for the video and report.)
The swat member is to blame
Banks I don't disagree, but I don't agree either
There's multiple people to blame not just the rookie officer who fired the shot.
I hired a hitman to kill that guy, you can't blame me! I didn't shoot him! Sure he wouldn't of been there if I didn't make him but that's irrelevant.
Banks no it isn't because if you saw him reaching for a gun or atleast a movement that looks like one you would prob shoot faster then him it's the ddosers fault
SexyCastiel440 Shooting someone on sight when they are not a threat should result in life in prison for the cop
A guy has lost his life for commiting no crime, his family have been ripped apart at such a festive time of the year for nothing. This is outrageous and he who made this call should be countable for this crime along with the person that paid him. It is soul destroying to know something so special as a life can be snatch away by $2 bet, a video game, a sore lower and a child. I hope the outcome of this can bring his family some sort of peace.
That's just horrible. Thoughts and prayers for the family
This is just another example of how you have to play calm online. The second things start getting sweaty, u HAVE to remember to keep ur calm, and not trash talk, and just let the other person win the argument.
Great video man, I hope this never happens to you. Your wife and you do not deserve this. You mean no harm and are doing nothing wrong.
I knew a Museum employee by the name of Herb Norfolk who worked in this field and used all the SWAT issue weapons described in this video years ago and was part of a private company and before which in the Army as a Sgt and let me tell you those who are in these groups do serious business and if someone makes a false call regarding a fake emergency it can spell a life or death situation. It's sad that people are like this to have what they want by doing these horrific things.
My grandpa even heard about this. I can't wait for the reaction from lawmakers.
I'm glad your so logical when talking about your awful experience with a dog being shot by police. Sadly, the dog is being a dog and there's nothing the cops or anyone else can do if a dog thinks a stranger is gonna hurt their owners
"Big black thing in my hand" and "one loud fart" is what got this video a like
I'm honestly surprised Drift0r didn't blame the cop who pulled the trigger? If you watch the video, it's obvious; dude comes outside, puts his hands up, is blinded by a spotlight, tries to shield his eyes, and is shot. For one, the cops are across the street behind car cover with AR15's. For two, they didn't know if the man who came out was the younger brother, or even another innocent man not mentioned in the call. For three, even if it was a real threat, you have a group of men with assault rifles trained on this man, if he had a pistol, like inferred (Pointing the gun at his family while talking on the phone, clean headshot enough to tell there's no breath.) and would have had to have if he walked outside not carrying anything, then he would have had to reach to his waist, draw the gun, hit someone behind cover at ~50 yards away. (anyone who has ever shot a pistol knows that is a hard shot even with proper form and some time) The cop murdered someone due to his negligence.
Of course, the real blame goes to the hiring person, the swatter, and the address provider, but ultimately the police failed too, they just happened to be the one that knocked over that house of cards.
Swatting has to be one of the lowest things you can do that I have heard of.
20 years of jail for the responsible kid, lifetime jail for the swatter, 5 years of social service for the kid who posted the address, policeman who shot kicked out.
That's how this should be handled. It should set an example.
The swatter got 20 years, don’t know about the kid who hired him
Drift0r, I'd suggest making an appointment to talk with an officer and inform them you will be bringing a laptop with you. Then bring explain to them what swatting is if they don't already know (It sounds like you've tried before though), and if they don't get it, pull up some swatting videos that show what it is, and what's happened before. If they understand what it is from that point, give them your number and request that if any reports come from your house to call you and that you'll wait outside with your wife and brother, and that you'll have your dogs in the car or something, and you'll be where they can see you when they arrive.
It's a compromise that will allow the officers to still arrive and do their job, but will also hopefully protect you and your family.
I'm sure you know of Professor Broman, but if not, I'd suggest looking up his most recent video where he goes over what he's done to help protect himself and his family in case someone swatted him, and how he's gotten it to work where he's lived twice now.
Why did this just come in my notifications as though it was a new video.
That is awful.
SWATing isn't a joke.
It's reckless endangerment of life and limb!
"A rule of criminal statutes that any death which occurs during the commission of a felony is first degree murder, and all participants in that felony or attempted felony can be charged with and found guilty of murder." This means if two people rob a gas station and the clerk or one of the customers shoots and kills one of the robbers the other robber is charged with first degree murder; the same applies when anyone dies no matter who killed who, the assailant or assailants are charged with first degree murder.
i like how Driftors interp of "pg13" is playing 911 audio of an orchestrated police murder and directing people to the video footage, as long as you don't curse.
If anyone wanted an update, he got sentenced to 20 years in prison in 2017, and then 5 years of supervised release after that. At least we get some closure.
This is one of the reasons that no knock raids and even knock and announce raids are super dangerous.
I’m now terrified of swatting. There has to be a way to raise awareness
That person didn't have any idea what's going on outside his house. Police was briefed by dispatch as per the prunk caller. Caller said he was in the house killed his father and kept hostage everyone else while he was actually 1,400 hundred miles away from the adress he gave. It's a shame they didn't bother to locate the caller. And the instruction they gave to the victim was not loud and clear enough for the victim to act upon. It was barely picked up by the closest recorder and the victim was at least 70 feet away. They were having all the covers and body armors to be so much worried about the victim reaching his gun. This just show you the level of training and i.q. the current bunch of law enforcement team are having.
I don't understand how there aren't proper protocols and precedent of punishment for swatting and reporting yourself as a potential swatting target with how common it actually is
thank you for this video and being open and honest
I am personally from the city where this took place. Wichita Kansas & here is my opinion. This is complete bs. For one this is why you never give out addresses online. For two no police or swat or fbi or whatever should just go in with guns a blazing because we live in a world where this stuff happens. And also I personally know w family member related to the guy who was murdered.. And I can not begin to explain how sorry I feel for her and her whole family. At this point she said "we can only pray for justice to be served" R. I. P Andrew finch!
Drift0r if you fear being swatted, contact local 911 dispatch and sheriff department, ask them to put a note in CAD system that you RUclips with large following and to confirm any 3rd Party SWAT warranting call. The local police when a call goes out will see the note to atleast be aware of this. They will add a note to you address.
