I made the template by seam ripping an old shirt I had thanks to your template video, no specific tutorials on making shirts, just going off your advice and general guidance so thanks so much, you don’t know how grateful I am for your videos!
Yay! A How To Sew reference book will serve you well for years and explain far more than a pattern. You can be frugal with sewing! Needle, thread, thimble, basic tool kit. The machine can be maintained and you don’t need a major fancy one. Enjoy the learning process! When you look at an early effort and see your progress, it’s gratifying. Take breaks. Sleep. Hydrate. Sewing is a life skill, it’s self-sufficiency, and it’s a community that can support you in your journey! 🎉

Yesterday, well, today in the early hours of the morning I tried my first project for the first time, and I was proud to play. I spent all the morning aware of going on and on and not finishing it, because I didn’t notice that the noise could bother my sister, but I’m proud of myself, and I definitely want to keep learning and improving. My 12-year-old self who wore socks to make clothes for his dolls, is very happy.
I starting sewing by hand for my mom then in middle school but never had a at home machine so I continue to hand sew until I was allowed to borrow a sewing machine from my sister so I started making the things I’ve always wanted with all the things you talked about I felt like I’ve been through the same stuff I appreciate your videos and I hope whoever wins makes the most out of the machine!
It's crazy to think someone who has been so helpful in my sewing journey didn't originally plan to post tutorials or sewing patterns. I graduated in June and my best friend got me the 4432 heavy duty and if I get it, I actually want to return the favor to her. We love supporting each other's creative hobbies. Been hand-stitching bags (different variations) and use it personally and gift some to friends for birthdays. Had to prepare a month before their birthdays to give it to them on time though; sometimes delayed. Been wishing to buy myself a high-powered sewing machine but budget is tight soooooo, I still opt in hand-stitching. Congrats on your 100k subs by the way. Congratulations!! The first Instagram link is dysfunctional. When I try to follow it it's adding some extraneous characters after the final / in the URL for some reason. But the intended target of the URL was easy enough to find. I focus on collecting vintage all metal sewing machines. With the amount of plastic it includes, a 4423 probably isn't a machine I would buy for myself. But it does have features none of my functional vintage machines have, like a zig zag stitch and a free arm. If I was to win one, I'm sure I would make use of those features. If you still have your vintage machine with the light bulb that occasionally burned you, you can get replacement LED bulbs for it.

Its the same with me, obsessing about seams and trying to break down the structure of the outfit to figure out how it was made, making up 1000 and 1 outfits with random fabrics I see. But the imposter syndrome is a real pain to deal with. Because of that I'm scared to take clients, because I believe I'm not good enough to render my services and o can't deal with people. So ill give you this advice someone gave me two months ago that encouraged me to upload videos on my channel. "Its not fair that someone as good as you isn't taking clients and out there there are people looking for this same quality you make. You're doing a great job, and your gifts will take you to seat among kings, because that's how wonderful it is" Still fighting the imposter syndrome, and tho I'm still not confident to take clients, I just think that putting out the content helps my mind somehow. Congratulations once again, I'm so so happy for you, 200k loading.....

Hi buddy, I’m kinda new to your channel, I’ve been watching you since a while but subscribed just recently. I’m a fashion design student in Milan, so in the 90% of the case I don’t really need ur videos BUT I genuinely like to watch all of ur videos, all ur reasoning, all this just to say to stop w ur impostor syndrome. Fashion design has never had a specific way to turn u into a pro, the fashion design history also showed how many people came into this world with so many different reasons, ppl who studied for it, ppl that simply had an opportunity n used it well, ppl that have always worked since a child in that world and ended up workin in it, u’r working pretty much cleverly trying to get every step instead of following the same usual step for any kind of clothing, so for real don’t worry, u’r simply walking on another way to reach the same goal of those like me that are studying, or already working in the industry, I perfectly get what u mean by talking about that feeling of being stuck in a situation n having no solution, u might face a lot of difficulties on ur way, but once o find out how to solve em u won’t for sure forget em, instead of maybe those ones studying for it, finding this problema n once they solve em they just forget about it, u’r doin amazing, u’r way of explaining n teaching is so damn genuine fresh n new, that’s why I subscribed, keep it up bro have a nice day✌🏻

Congratulations!! I’m really proud of how far you’ve come!! (Especially as a fellow Canadian!! 😉) I don’t actually remember not sewing - by hand or on a machine - but I do remember making doll clothing on the machine when I was no older than maybe eight, tops. And all these many years later, I’m still addicted to it! I still haven’t got a serger, but I will, sooner than later now, I hope!! 😉 I’ve made a lot of my own clothing over the years. Like many women, my bust, waist and hips are three different sizes. It’s one reason I think people should learn to sew! Being able to create clothing that actually fits is awesome!! And tailoring is an important option too! Lots of people make “sewing videos” but not enough of them actually teach people the skills. So kudos to you for bringing sewing skills to people, and not just showing off what you are capable of, like most!!

I only know how to handstitch all my life and I just started learning how to use the machine last month. So far, I could only make scrunchies with it. Fashion design has never had a specific way to turn u into a pro, the fashion design history also showed how many people came into this world with so many different reasons, ppl who studied for it, ppl that simply had an opportunity n used it well, ppl that have always worked since a child in that world and ended up workin in it, u’r working pretty much cleverly trying to get every step instead of following the same usual step for any kind of clothing, so for real don’t worry, u’r simply walking on another way to reach the same goal of those like me that are studying, or already working in the industry, I perfectly get what u mean by talking about that feeling of being stuck in a situation n having no solution, u might face a lot of difficulties on ur way, but once o find out how to solve em u won’t for sure forget em, instead of maybe those ones studying for it, finding this problema n once they solve em they just forget about it, u’r doin amazing, u’r way of explaining n teaching is so damn genuine fresh n new, that’s why I subscribed, keep it up bro have a nice day✌🏻

I don’t actually remember not sewing - by hand or on a machine - but I do remember making doll clothing on the machine when I was no older than maybe eight, tops. And all these many years later, I’m still addicted to it! I still haven’t got a serger, but I will, sooner than later now, I hope!! 😉
I’ve made a lot of my own clothing over the years. Like many women, my bust, waist and hips are three different sizes. It’s one reason I think people should learn to sew! Being able to create clothing that actually fits is awesome!! And tailoring is an important option too! Lots of people make “sewing videos” but not enough of them actually teach people the skills. So kudos to you for bringing sewing skills to people, and not just showing off what you are capable of, like most!!

I'm a total beginner and I just inherited my mom's Singer Promise sewing machine. I only know how to handstitch all my life and I just started learning how to use the machine last month. So far, I could only make scrunchies with it. I get frustrated a lot when I get wonky stitches, jammed threads, etc. I've got a looong way to go. Good thing I found your channel!! I learned a lot of things from you. 😁
