Why do you check left blind spot before you start moving? You are already parked to begin with, what do you expect to see on the left and what can you do to avoid it?
It is a very strange thing to do. However, it is a mandatory requirement during driving tests to do it. Failing to do so leads to minus points. There are numerous things in the driving test that I believe need reform, head checks particularly. But hey, one can't be too overly cautious with headchecks right?
