HOW TO DO A THREE POINT TURN (Follow these easy steps to pass the Road Test)

- The three point turn (sometimes called a K-turn, or broken U-turn) is the standard method of turning a vehicle around to face the opposite direction in a limited space, using forward and reverse gears. This is typically done when the road is too narrow for a U-turn. This maneuver is a common requirement in driving test.
The maneuver consists of driving across the road turning towards the offside curb, reversing across the road to the original nearside curb while turning, and driving forward towards the original offside curb, now the nearside. In a narrow road or with a longer vehicle, more than three legs may be required to achieve a full 180 degree rotation. Which is fine, you can do it in more than 3 turns.

Note: If you do a 3-Point Turn as slowly as they do in this video, you're likely to get T-Boned by through traffic. If you can't do it faster than this (and even if you can), it's better to keep going and turn around at an intersection even if it means going a few blocks out of your way. The only time you should really do a 3-Point Turn is if you mistakenly go into a narrow dead-end road.

I thought when someone did a 3 Point Turn you are to wait until they do the complete turn to proceed.

Not for a driving test tho. It's not optional

Im thankful for this video. Definitely helped me getting mine on the first try, try not to over worry yourself i was super nervous but when my actual driving test started i was super calm. Dont over stress yourself just believe in yourself you got this!
Me watching this video many times because my instructor told me that this is what I struggle with and this will also be on the road exam 😬. I’m on my 8th out of 10, and still struggle with 3x point turn!!! I feel like this is going to help me boost up my confidence for my last two classes before my exam!

Passing the DMV test is when you study hard, if you can’t study or you don’t have time for your studies I’d advise you get yourself a help like Mr James
I’ve always believed DMV is not for all but studying, you need God’s grace to pass

I like the videos you put up they are helpful. However I am still practicing the slow speed maneuvers with my dads help. I get better each time I practice driving in the empty parking lot across the street from my house.

The reverse mirrors over the center lane is a good thing to remember never thought about it like that before makes things so much easier

So am I on the 19th as well!
It's great to see videos teaching new drivers the skills the will need to drive safely on our roads. Before long they will be doing J hooks on dry pavement like Dale Jr.

U do it like this you will fail I promise you have to use your left blinker,right blinker, then left blinker again when u do a three point turn.

Taking the test first thing in the morning which is 3 hours from now I know how to drive been driving since 16 and I’m now 19 about to be 20 about to get my drivers license the only hold up was corona and my old car transmission went out and couldn’t fix for unfortunate reasons .. but I now own a nice 2018 Nissan Altima Sl and will be taking that test later :)

@Bro NY i took it in TX. and I had parent taught...Stop at stop signs spell "S.T.O.P" in ur head, then go. Look left and right, if you do not need to stop, dont.
Don't slow down when turning, unless needed- just take foot of the gas.
Shoulder checks, signal, be confident and DON"T HIT ANYTHING.
Signal into and out of parallel parking if it's needed for ur test....SIGNAL EVERYTHING when it comes to the parking!

When you reverse do you have to keep two hands on the wheel?
One hand on the wheel and the other on the passenger seat head rest.

When reversing, should you switch indicators to the right since you’re reversing right?
And then switch the indicator again to the left before driving?

On my first test I was told to make a 3 point turn at a 4 way stop, which is illegal so I failed. What should I do in this situation?

The Turn signal has to be put only at the beginning, right? means when we turn to the Left after parking at the curb. Do we need to put Turn signals while reversing?

I watched some of these videos today; thank you so much. I’ll be implementing these in the future. I don’t have a test unlike other people do yet “at the last minute”, but I’ll be doing it in the future though. Thanks to mostly my dad’s and mom’s help, I think I’ll be ready eventually though, and especially with there wonderful advice with how to do safe driving too; which I’ll definitely be enacting :) Only a few things have been frustrating and stressful but other than that, I wanted to say (if anyone ever sees this and don’t mean to be critical) but it takes practice way more than just only watching videos. Yes videos are useful (I even needed some videos in the end), but if you’re not practicing, your only risking your own life and others which can be very frustrating, risky, and anxiety-provoking. But probably no one’s going to listen so I’m not surprised, nor will I be surprised if I get criticized. Oh well, but the consequences do still happen eventually and everything does catch up with everyone including me, so… Anyways, all I wanted to say and hoping the best for each of you

I just failed my test because it was on an empty course- remember don’t panic like I did and remember ITS ALWAYS TO THE LEFT FIRST.
I failed because the place I ended up was the wrong side of the road and it ended up being a critical error. You got this.
