I recently made mine from two pieces of sandwiched 1" thick marine Starboard about 4 inches long, I traced the end of the stock (not the butt plate) and cut out that paper pattern, adhered it to some 3/4 inch plywood and sanded out the shape on a belt sander. with that attached to my block I then sanded to the dimension of the patterns. After that I cut the rabbit that inserts into the stock on the table saw. Then I hollowed out about three quarters of the inner material to match the stock and fit the butt plate... absolutely rigid even as thin as the stock and far lighter than a couple holes drilled would have been. I secured it all together with a couple pieces of 3mm brass all-thread and a couple of flat spring clip nuts. I think i'll try 3 stacked segments next and see if I can get a better fit and finish. Thanks for your ideas and video, you set me on the path to comfortable aiming while retaining the stock storage features I wanted. And yes, the addition of the stock band hides the extension and gives me a few more quick access shells. Best of all its completely reversible to out of the box original condition. BTW for those wondering Starboard HDPE does not glue up well, only screwing, bolting or welding are recommended.
Nice work, I like how the extension turned out. This rifle gets a lot more useful if you're reloading the 45 Colt for it. That opens the door to using slower burning powders that can make use of the longer barrel. Magtech makes brass 410 shells that use a large pistol primer as well which opens up even more options. Good hunting!

Thank you. I do in fact reload and use fire form 303 enfield brass for 410 shells
Thanks for sharing that this is possible. Rasps, files and block sanding will give you a flatter, straighter lines.
You’re are welcome

what glue did you use to put the plastics together?
I didn’t glue them the are held together with screws
I need one of those extensions for my circuit judge.
They are easy to make
What would it charge a guy to get one made
It would cost way more for me to make it

One of these days he’ll realize it’s a 5 shot
