- finally getting around to finishing up this build for a patient friend. 90's factory roller block, .030 over flat top pistons, FloTek 180cc aluminum heads, Summit Racing 8802 Camshaft, BTR pushrods, and Comp 1.52 roller rockers. still dialing in the tune but she runs great.
…..sounds like an old John Deere chugging along! 🤪
Sounds really good. Kinda sounds like a cummins diesel too lol
It sounds wayyy better in person. The phone mic picks up all kinds of noise that the accessories on the front of the motor are making along with the hollow fuel pump pushrod. In person those noises are hardly audible.
@@JBAutomotive794 Yeah I feel you, I know how it is. It’s hard for camera to pick up practically anything the way we hear them in person lol. Does it chop good?
@@clarksgarageofbadhabits6803 yeah it's got a pretty decent chop but still makes enough vacuum to run power brakes.
@@JBAutomotive794 Awesome. There’s like 2 videos on youtube total including yours. I’d like to run it in my Vortec 350 for my 3rd gen trans am.
@@clarksgarageofbadhabits6803 it's a great hot street cam.
any more videos of this truck? i have a very similar setup going into my 1988 c1500
We are putting a new exhaust system on it currently and we will do a much more in depth video soon
@@JBAutomotive794 awesome thank you
any update on that in depth video?

Would have used the stage 1 for a hauler...
How has this cam been for you so far? You notice any problems?
It's been a great camshaft. We actually started out with a flat tappet unit and followed all the directions to a Tee and it still ate a lobe. We have had no issues with this roller cam setup since.
@JBAutomotive794 Wow! Those flat tappet setups sure are not as good as they once were. The one I have in my 355 SBC has been great to me, but I would not get a new set today. Thanks for confirming! This seems like a decent cam for a budget
@@StrawIsEpic quality as well as oil technology has definitely not been good to the Flat tappet cam market
Does this cam need a bronze or melonized distributor gear
Yes. We used a mellonized gear.
I hope you have decent gear ratio with that camshaft.
This truck current has 4.56 gears and we are about to change to a different rear end with much more sensible ratios.
idle it up lol
