Very few videos of the vortec 350 with the 8802 cam looking forward to hearing it run!! I have one sitting on the shelf in my shop myself. with a low milage 1998 350 waiting to install.. I ended up buying the Alex parts spring kit which allows for up to .550 lift machine work on the dtovk heads...only got to find some time haha. Thanks for sharing
Just put this cam in a L31. Runs great, hauls ass! Little chop, power brakes still work. Summit beehive springs, comp retainers and +.050 keepers. Intalled screw in studs, summit full roller rockers.
That summit cam has more lift than the gm hit cam, which is 492/492 lift and I think it's 219/228, I have the GM cam on the shelf, I wanted a little more chop, but it works wonders in a 95 ss impala with a 2600 stall
That's true....most guys that run the gm hot cam use 1.6 rockers which give it the same lift as the summit cam .525....the summit brand is just an option instead of spending 600$ on gm cam....thanks for the stall info definitely gone get one for 2004r trans for my malibu
True lt4 hot cam since the 90s is always a 112 lobe separation and 525 on the intake and 525 on the exhaust but that’s with a 1.6 rocker a 1.5 rocker runs a 480 480 so idk where u got ur cam from it’s not correct go on gm perfomance and type in lt4 hot cam specs you’ll see what I’m talking about I been building l31 vortecs for what 32 years now n

I seen that video i did a similar build sbc 355 forged internals flat top pistons with sum 8802 cam and a high rise single plane intake just havent had time to drop it in yet got it goin in a 65 c10
Very similar cam summit brand is just a more affordable budget friendly option.....no doubt they would perform the same give or take a few hp and torque nunbers

No, kept the factory press fit studs it's only a mild build so not truly necessary but s rew in studs are better

It's very similar to the GM performance LT4 cam just branded by summit racing part from summit is 8802. Preciate the info tho
Summits cam is damn near the exact same specs. Easy to make 400hp with one.

That cam is not a street/strip cam
The chevy performance lt4 hot cam is street/strip but as you said better price just not for strip

Depends on how you obtain the engine.....a built one will be around 2k
