Yep , you'll get one two or three bad lifters out of 16... And you'll get one two or three bad roller rockers out of 16... Expect to go back down elbow deep twice... If you're lucky, it's a cross about every brand...

Michigan motorsports bronze bushings do the same crap, just avoid them, use che or GM original rockers or btr tk001 or 002 units

  • @OpticalToxin

Can you jiggle the rockers to test for play in any engine position or do the valves need to be in a certain part of their cycle? I know when torqueing the rocker arms, the valve has to be down/seated before you torque the rocker arm, but wasn't sure if giving them a wiggle was the same way.

I have a tick on my driver side that sounds very much like this. I have an all new valvetrain, minus the rocker arms. I’ve even tried three different sets of lifters so I’m starting to think it’s a rocker arm issue. I have factory LS3 rocker arms with CHE trunnions. Pretty much all of them have lateral movement when the valve is closed, which I though was normal, but my isolated tick is on cylinder 1. I think I’m gonna do BTR rockers with their V2 trunnion upgrade

When people tell me the bushings are a good aftermarket option I always say "not when bearings exist"

  • @ontiverosruben7491

Did it affect the performance of the car or just make the tick noise?

How did you open the valves for lift when you tighten them. Did you spin the back tires in gear.

  • @Mw_bill

What kit you use? My g8 has the same tick. Think it has the smith brothers trunnions

Do you rotate motor to torque rocker arms? Or just torque 22lbs all the way down

  • @seangowan7441

Do you spin the engine over when torquing the rocker arms?
