Did you go with higher stall converter or is it 5spd. Followed cutter performance video for my 94 Silverado build but went with the 8802

You CAN run a stock stall on this cam but it’s pushing it. I personally wouldn’t recommend it. If you drive something heavy like a Yukon or Tahoe I think a 2600-3k would be real nice. That’s what I’m considering doing in mine. I decided to use the summit cam as well.

ive been looking at this cam vs the 8803 for a carbureted setup in my obs with a vortec block. any tips or suggestions?

Depends on what heads you use. Vortec heads can only do about .530 lift safely with no machining. That’s with using different retainers and keepers. 8803 is too much lift for stock guide boss vortec heads.

@@CadenBoyattMy suggestion would be to watch the videos that piss cutter performance has made about cam swaps on vortec 350 stuff. For basic assembly stuff you can refer to RUclips or buy an assembly manual on the SBC.

@@CadenBoyattjust get the 8802, ls6 hive springs 1.5 rockers should be fine or you could run 1.6, you’d have to machine the heads with 1.6 rockers though , new retainers, holley 650cfm and an anodized distributor to match the cam

@@Matthew-ib2kzI’m doing that for mine for my third gen firebird. It’s a good cam for it, I just also want it to have a lil chop lol

Ive been looking at this cam, anything else you had to do besides upgrade springs? I found a comp camps drop in spring kit that increases the max lift to .540 on a vortec head...

Check out piss cutter performance’s RUclips channel, he has a couple real good videos on how to get maximum lift on these heads

I assume that's a cold start. What rpm does it idle at fully warm?
