Noup, because you can't fit enough condensers on mobile platform and even stationary will be huge and ineffective (Terra 3 but on steroids) and even gazodynamic system doesn't provide enough power output, while demanding extreme level of operational complexity (Gazodynamic lazer is basically a highly modified rocket engine). So unfortunately no star wars for the foreseeable future.
s500 vs f35 would be like using a spray can to hit a wall. Not only is the s300 or anything above that more advanced than any western air defences, it is also 10x cheaper to produce/manufacture as russia has not got to pay cross dressers.
We will not truly know the answer to this until they are used by opposing sides in conflict. While I hope that does not happen, we here in the U.S., and I would presume Russia as well, must prepare for such an eventuality.

Let's see...the Russians will tell you the S500 can shoot down the F-35 and the Americans will say no, the S500 can not shoot down the F-35. No one has put that question to a real test so...this is just conjecture, speculation and wild ass guesses.

You need anti radiation missiles to destroy the radars. After this the fighter jets can attack. First send drones to locate the radars first, fire the anti radiation missiles and then send the fighter jets

Unless this "state of the art system" took a step backwards with fewer missiles, its has a very specific purpose. AA sustems are meant to work as a network. Well, 2 years later, s-300, s-400 and s-500 have failed to intercept ballistic missiles (ATACMS) and drones. Just lately, an s-500 was allegedly destroyed in Crimea by ATACAMS

I really don't know why all of you count F22 Raptor and SU35. There are about 186 Raptors and under 150 SU35 produced. Even if they ALL work perfectly (if they would be ready for combat), and if they ALL be able to be in one area of the battle, they can't decide the war. A bird strike has brought down a F35 ... also looks a lot like a guy name Gary from Royal Navy forgot to tighten something in the engine bay and he brought one down. Then there was the one in Japan, faulty fuel pump seal so a rubber band brought that one down. Could the s500 bring one down? Who knows? My guess sure why not.

Of course a S400 and S500 system can take down an F35 and F22. And the F35 can destroy these Russian also. It's a matter of tactics and how these systems are employed. Just like what happened when an F111 was shot down by the Serbs using a very old missile system. The US got complacent and launched their attacks at the same time using the same flight routes like clock work. Add a brilliant Serb air defense commander. And the F111 was tracked and targeted and shot down. The US military never claimed stealth made their aircraft invisible, just hard to detect and target.

S500 isn't made to be used against f35 or any other jet fighter. Russian has lot of other missiles to do that job. Even Pantzir SM shortest range can shot down any jet including f35. Next is Tor system, Buk system, s200, s300, then new s350 can be used even against hypersonic missile, so as s400. 👉S500 S550, A125 and A225 is used to intersepte ICBM missiles and shot down satellites in orbit.

Impenetrable is a very strong and certainly incorrect term. We do not know the full capabilities of the S500, but I am fairly certain that they also do not know what we would use to target the radars and other components. Hopefully we never actually have to find out whether we can destroy these systems, and hopefully they never have to find out whether their systems are effective or not against ours.
Can its surveillance radar detect F-35 at distances that allow its successful tracking? Yes, quite possible... BUT... Is its tracking radar capable of guiding the missile to the target? Now, that is the question... Possible, but disputable... Tracking radars don't work in S-band which is used to detect stealth aircrafts. For missile guidance, you need a high "resolution" radar which is more susceptible to jamming and other "tricks" stealth planes use... For example, when F-117 was shot down, it was detected rather soon thanks to an old radar roughly in this band. However, the crew wasn't able to lock the targeting radar because the reflection was too low. That is, until the F-117 opened its ordnance door, which increased its reflection surface just enough. So, the manually pointed the targeting radar in its general direction and waited in hope they would get enough reflection. It did happen thanks to afore mentioned opening of bomb door... If he didn't open them, he wouldn't have been shot down... So, targeting radar is the big question here...

it’s not just about the SAMs targeting radar, but also the missile seeker itself being able to track and lock onto the fighter. This has shown to be very difficult.

For the space shuttle that would be cosmic radiation and with a ttl lvl (0-5v) the margin for error is much bigger than with current processors. @@CommonSenses101 I would imagine, but stealth aircraft often operate with external apparatus to give different radar returns than when in actual combat so that their actual signatures remain secret. I believe even the Russians do this too.

According to some military experts from the US ( our military experts ), the F35 sucks and has fallen out of the sky multiple times... even though they have tried not to make those failures public. I am not sure what kind of problems they have had but that is what I have heard...

@@f9658 It was literally made to shoot down hypersonic ballistic missiles, hence the 2 massive launchers. The s400 has 4 launchers with different missiles to engage different targets. Unless this "state of the art system" took a step backwards with fewer missiles, its has a very specific purpose. AA sustems are meant to work as a network. There's not a single "end all be all" system. IADS stands for Intergraded Air Defence System. If you want to be a fan boy go ahead, just don't spread your ignorance.

Russia is in the Eastern Hemisphere with actual competitive land nations with war like pasts, and they have even had Japan threaten them from the East so they are PROBABLy more defended with more military than USA is, i dont think US has as much non naval based air defense, i guess we just use our airbases as air defense which is great but would be nice to have more dedicated surface to air missile batteries up along all our coasts JUST in case, maybe have it all hidden etc in old industrial centers out in the desert.

Well, 2 years later, s-300, s-400 and s-500 have failed to intercept ballistic missiles (ATACMS) and drones.
Just lately, an s-500 was allegedly destroyed in Crimea by ATACAMS
The Russians have already destroyed Ukrainian Patriot and s-300 with video confirmation of hits. It is very easy to overload an air defense system with hundreds of drones. Both sides are unprotected. And it is doubtful to trust the Ukrainian government without confirmation.
I really don't know why all of you count F22 Raptor and SU35. There are about 186 Raptors and under 150 SU35 produced. Even if they ALL work perfectly (if they would be ready for combat), and if they ALL be able to be in one area of the battle, they can't decide the war. That would be one battle and they would be all destroyed. It is such a small number of aircraft for some global war.
And, it is equally ridiculous if we talk about SU57 and F35. There are ONLY 10 SU 57 produced. And F35 is nothing but a can full of all sorts of glitches and errors. This is not the plane to rely on. The next war will decide F14, 15, 16, 18 and SU27, Su30, Su34, and the other standard and mass-produced models.

A bird strike has brought down a F35 ... also looks a lot like a guy name Gary from Royal Navy forgot to tighten something in the engine bay and he brought one down. Then there was the one in Japan, faulty fuel pump seal so a rubber band brought that one down. Could the s500 bring one down? Who knows? My guess sure why not.
Should I start listing all Russian incidents like the one SU-57 that crashed which was supposedly ready for delivery? With that crash the current crash rate of the SU-57 is 50% as there were only 2 SU-57 in active service.

Of course a S400 and S500 system can take down an F35 and F22. And the F35 can destroy these Russian also. It's a matter of tactics and how these systems are employed. Just like what happened when an F111 was shot down by the Serbs using a very old missile system. The US got complacent and launched their attacks at the same time using the same flight routes like clock work. Add a brilliant Serb air defense commander. And the F111 was tracked and targeted and shot down. The US military never claimed stealth made their aircraft invisible, just hard to detect and target.

S500 isn't made to be used against f35 or any other jet fighter. Russian has lot of other missiles to do that job. Even Pantzir SM shortest range can shot down any jet including f35. Next is Tor system, Buk system, s200, s300, then new s350 can be used even against hypersonic missile, so as s400. 👉S500 S550, A125 and A225 is used to intersepte ICBM missiles and shot down satellites in orbit.

Impenetrable is a very strong and certainly incorrect term. We do not know the full capabilities of the S500, but I am fairly certain that they also do not know what we would use to target the radars and other components. Hopefully we never actually have to find out whether we can destroy these systems, and hopefully they never have to find out whether their systems are effective or not against ours.
USA did missions in Syria while s400 was in use they did testing on f-35 f22 now they have s500 good luck

Can its surveillance radar detect F-35 at distances that allow its successful tracking? Yes, quite possible... BUT... Is its tracking radar capable of guiding the missile to the target? Now, that is the question... Possible, but disputable...
Tracking radars don't work in S-band which is used to detect stealth aircrafts. For missile guidance, you need a high "resolution" radar which is more susceptible to jamming and other "tricks" stealth planes use...
For example, when F-117 was shot down, it was detected rather soon thanks to an old radar roughly in this band. However, the crew wasn't able to lock the targeting radar because the reflection was too low. That is, until the F-117 opened its ordnance door, which increased its reflection surface just enough. So, the manually pointed the targeting radar in its general direction and waited in hope they would get enough reflection. It did happen thanks to afore mentioned opening of bomb door... If he didn't open them, he wouldn't have been shot down...
So, targeting radar is the big question here...
It's enough to alert and send Su-35s to the right area and that changes everything.

it’s not just about the SAMs targeting radar, but also the missile seeker itself being able to track and lock onto the fighter. This has shown to be very difficult.

For the space shuttle that would be cosmic radiation and with a ttl lvl (0-5v) the margin for error is much bigger than with current processors. S200 and S300 have no hope whatsoever in developing a targeting solution on an F35. The missiles they use wouldn't likely engage the F35 either due to the electronic countermeasures it uses.

Neither the S500 nor the F-35 have any combat record. Heck, looking back into the lineage of the S500, neither the S400 nor the S300 have any combat record, either.
We do know that they did not shoot down the Israeli F35's in Syria, whether that was intentional or not we may not know. We keep our F35's away from them for now, and if we know they are going near we alter their return profile. One side or the other is going to get a surprise when actual combat comes.
