  • We gonna create and animate 3d splines with the help of
    animation nodes a blender addon by Jacques Lucke.
    This tutorial in not just for blender users but it’s for Fusion users also because they’re already familiar with node based system and because fusion lacks procedural 3d modelling tools they can leverage this node system to create and animated 3d objects procedurally and use alembic format to integrate it.

    I would love to see a tutorial on the basics of animation nodes. I totally lost it when you said "Now I have confused all of you". Great work though! Pacing of the tutorial is spot on.

    Nice effect and great tut, thanks so much. Loving AN and I really like the way you explain the hard stuff like looping. So many others take that all for granted.

    This reminds me of Softimage XSI's ICE node system. its very similar. but i'm happy that blender has something that powerful too.

    Oh, this is my first animation nodes animation. xD Tho, I still have no idea how exactly I should do something I want to do and make it animating in that specific way I want it to be animated. And the only reason for that is I have no programming background, but at least I made something that works. :D

    very helpfull tutorial thanks :)
    notice that you don't actually change the velocity of the seperate lines: they all have the same velocity which is 1/10 up on the z axe (this mean on the curve) each frame. by adding a random number it's just offsetting this position. If you want to change the actual velocity, you should multiply this value randomly

    • @greenote9788
      @greenote9788 7 лет назад

      oh just saw that you actually did it :) sorry for confusion

    I'm having some issues when rendering the animation. Using Blender 2.78 / GPU render / about 400 instances (I'm sure isn't memory error).
    Blender simply crashes and close. No error msgs. Any tips how to workaround it? How can I get a log or debug info? Thanks in advance!

    • @ThinkingPenguin
      @ThinkingPenguin  7 лет назад +1

      I think it should be memory error. try to render it with cpu. how much vram do you have? crash reports generally created in temp directories.

    • @MateusBertolinideMoraes
      @MateusBertolinideMoraes 7 лет назад +1

      Thinking Penguin GPU with 6GB and 32gb ram on the system. I'm almost sure is not a memory issue. Gonna check the logs.

    How would you compare Animation Nodes to Fusions and Maya's tools?

    • @ThinkingPenguin
      @ThinkingPenguin  7 лет назад +1

      Fusion nodes or Maya nodes are very good tools for doing lots of great stuff but they are suited for a specific purpose thus hiding a lot of low level stuffs like"nested loops" to make it more user friendly. Animation nodes is basically python scripting but it's visual.

    Some issues with resolution preview and render: when i change the value at "render U: 60", my renders and previews still showing a low resolution curve. Some bug?

    Hey man will be super nice to create tutorials on the basics of the animation nodes.. I'm looking to start learning staff on this base. Can you do it from particles... not from a vertex. For example, can you do such an effect combining particle systems?
