Had this happen too on Ebay. I bought the Spider-Man (2000) Neversoft tie-in comic book for 15 bucks. The comic goes for higher prices.Thought I found a good deal. Fact is, the original was a bound-in insert in GamePro Magazine. Every copy has GamePro written under the corner box and has a white rectangular box, the same size as the corner box located directly beneath it. Well, mine doesn't have that. No GamePro logo, mine instead says #1 in the white box. This same exact cover can be found in the Spider-Man game, so instead, the seller took that cover from the collectible in-game comic cover! Instead of the comic having glossy pages, mine has pages like older comic books. So yes, beware what you buy on Ebay or the internet.
The worst book I bought from Ebay was a Hulk #1 (red Hulk). I didn't look at it for 6 months after delivery. When I did, I found the centre fold was detached.... 😡 It was too late for me to complain, and the seller never responded. Love your videos, mate. 👍🏼
Having the book in have to look for color touch, trimming, married pages, incorrect re-assembly if it was cleaned and pressed all the way thru, missing tattoos, etc... Or fake CGC case with fake book inside, very important. Folks will counterfeit anything that has value. Buyer beware.
I remember that video you posted in regards to those fake ASM #300s, the coloration on the 300s on the cover is too red as opposed to the 300s original red orange color on the cover. But the back cover of the art that's cut off of the ends should definitely be a dead giveaway to some collectors that it's a fake. Sharing this information will likely lesson these scammers from producing fake items online. Nice review.
I bought an ASM 300 Newsstand very high grade off FB. I thought it was fake, but the inside pages look legit. I'll use your suggestions to double-check it.
I went to a Dallas convention years ago and there was a vendors table set up with all these mint condition silver age comics. They were listed as second printings . I was gonna maybe buy a couple , but then I started thinking , ... they didn't do second printings back in the '60s . And after taking a closer look I realized that they were just Laser printed copies of vintage comics . Gotta know what you are buying people . Now days there's too many second and third printings and variations . They can't sell new comics anymore ( because they suck ) so they are re-printing anything and everything to make money . Not to mention the counterfeits .
@@beatsarebroken : who would fake a whole comicbook?. Same aged paper quality , has to be another explanation. You would need a printing press, for the time effort and energy the returns would be very little, and why not do silver age grails, big bucks not small change. Could it be some sort of promotional product.?..
It really is a fake, I had the same problem (read my comment above). The comic was supposed to have glossy pages, my copy had regular paper like older comic books. It is rare to come by but it does happen. Facsimile comic books actually have a new price and corner box on them like recent comic books do, along with the rectangular Marvel logo. People do counterfeit everything these days.

Hi buddy hope you all will stay safe always ❤❤❤❤
Looks like the facsimile brother (reprint)
None of the legitimate facsimiles have the same price and markings as the originals, including the Walmart one. It's a fake.
Yea it does but it’s a fake
Facsimile surely.? Check inside for printing date. The box should provide all the information required to ascertain if it is indeed genuine.
