Now if he said “When Drag Kings and Queens are outta Drag, we must present as the Sex we say we are.”, that would’ve made much more sense. But it was the Audacity of Kitty to just say that while in full Drag and say that 😹

As I've understood it, drag is a performance art where the performance is another persona. While performing, they are a female persona and present as such and when they are not performing, they present as themselves.
Drag Queens are (often) cis men who put on a character of a (usually) female persona. So it’s like a male actor playing a woman in a Shakespearean play, at that point they claim to be a woman, not a man because the character is a woman. So no, it’s not a contradiction. As someone who really loves drag, Kitty Demure is in a minority opinion here, as in they really had to reach to find a drag queen who feels this way about trans women. Even RuPaul who said “drag queens have to be men or it isn’t drag” later apologized for this and never said (to my knowledge, but if someone knows otherwise let me know) anything like this about trans women. I don’t like RuPaul, but even he isn’t this bad.

I used to watch some of these clowns as a young gay woman learning about my sexuality and I am severely disappointed in the direction they've gone. This is straight up pathetic, yo. I was today years old when I learned fragile femininity is a thing. Wow. Just wow.
Hey I just wanna clarify one thing about the Drag Queen part. For anyone who would ask, YES, You can be a Woman and perform as a Queen. My Drag mother is a Bio Queen and my Drag Sister is a Trans Queen (Trans Woman specifically). It is very possible to be a Woman and perform as a Queen. Vice versa with Men performing as Kings.
This video made me question my gender identity again. I don't have a strong sense of gender identity. I think I only identify as a woman because I'm biologically female and its convenient for me to do so. I try to understand trans people within my perception of gender, like, trans people feeling this strong dysphoria and identifying with the physical characteristics and maybe social appearance of the opposite sex. But this video made me realize that's not the true definition. As someone who doesn't feel "man" or "woman" and only has my comfort with the physical aspects of my sex to go off, it's difficult for me to understand how it feels.
I had sorta similar experiences, never felt like a boy or girl. I thought I could be a gender non-conforming woman and just kept to myself. As I learned more about gender identity (gender as a whole) and about myself, I realized I was just nonbinary- agender, to be exact. It’s okay if you still have to figure things out for yourself, we all have our own journeys and experiences 🤗 Hope you can be comfortable and happy within your own body, no matter how you present yourself (changes or not)
Wait..."I think you should always present as the sex that you claim to be". What? Did we just rocket back into the 40s? What about cis women, like me, who don't wear makeup and wear pants? What about someone like one of my best friend who is a cis woman, has short hair, small boobs, never wears makeup, wears almost exclusively men's pants and shirts, and wears combat boots nearly every day? Is she breaking this rule of "always presenting as the sex you claim to be"? I'm honestly horrified by someone saying something like this in 2020.
This is so weird. I'm a 54 years old cis woman. I don't understand how... what.. why?? The only time someone's presenting as anything annoys me is when they are lying to get a benefit of sorts. If you sit in a wheelchair while not being disabled to get to the front of a line. Or get disability. That's just what popped into my head. Also - people who try to present as smart to get power over others while they are not smart - that's awful too. But enough about politics. My point is, unless there's somehow some kind of infringement on my rights, I don't care. If YOU are bothered by such stuff, I'd recommend a long look inward to find out why. It'll make you happier to solve that sore spot.
I heard somewhere that trans women couldn't participate in drag shows (maybe it's not a universal thing though) and my initial thought was that sounds uncool, then they gave the reasoning, that after you come out as a trans woman you are a woman and thus can no longer pretend to be one, that sounds way cooler.
I remember Rose from that debate with Xanderhal. It went like this: Rose: says se dumb shit Xander: No that's not even right! Haven't you ever read anything about this topic? Rose: No Xander: proceeds to lecture her on the topic analytically for 20 minutes. Rose: constantly interupts and says shit like "no socialism evil because in cuba my family lost the coconut farms" or shit like that Xanderhal: no you term lmao Rose: uh uh um let's talk about uuh Hitler! He was a socialist! Xander: Do you even know who he was? Rose: Not really, i never finished school Xander: facepalms into oblivion This summary isn't 100% accurate because i don't remember stuff from 2 months ago exactly but it is 60% arguement because i remember events vaguely. Watch the debate if you want to see a lecture
wtf is kitty demure talking about, while presenting as a woman, and being (as far as i know) a cis man? either that's taken out of context, or we have a hypocrite on our hands.
I am attracted to female woman feminine. But I'm a car guy, so a lady that can do some stereotypically masculine things like fix a car or is into cars is also attractive, so I guess it depends on what you define as masculine as to if I'm attracted to anything masculine. Like physical appearance, I am not attracted to anything physically masculine. Not saying I'm right or wrong, just talking.

"We cant redefine what it is to be a woman" Says the trans woman who wants to be called a woman... like... we did it for you. Im fine doing it for you. But stop drawing a line in the sand behind you and saying "NO ONE ELSE!".
@@jackharper_games9046 What the hell are you smoking? lol. Firstly definitions of words change all the time, that is just how words work. And we are not really "redefining" anything anyways. Gender and sex are _not_ the same thing. Nor is even what we consider "male and female" the same today as it was 100, 200, or 500 years ago. These things change to reflect the current world we live in. When we say "Michael is a man" we are not saying "he is sexually a male with male chromosomes" we are saying that the gender norms we most commonly today associated with being a "man" best describe Michael. Its not just "so no ones feelings get hurt". Is it about respect? Yeah sure, the same way that i would call you "Jack" and not something else out of spite. Or i will call a reverend reverend or pastor even if i don't believe in what they do. Also saying "Michael is a man" best describes him, how he feels, and how he probably acts. This is America Jack, land of the free. And if that means they want to use their personal freedom to change their own bodies and their own lives they get to, with or without your consent.
@@jackharper_games9046 *Changing how we perceive Gender and Sex to make others feel better is not a sign of respect* We have ALWAYS changed how we perceive gender. The societal gender norms of today are different than they were 50 years ago. Different than 200 years ago. And different in different countries too. Its ALWAYS been changing. Its ALWAYS shifting. Words have no intrinsic meaning, _WE_ define words. Your average woman today would be stoned to death 2000 years ago and half a world away. Do you really not understand this? Lots of cultures even had a 3rd gender in their culture as well. At least until Europeans came and stomped it out. You are just upset that _your_ specific definition of woman is not being used. This is the same anger racist had in the past when blacks were given equal rights as all "men" as well. Saying that "all men are created equal" never meant black people, and to include them would soil what it is to be a man. *The world has away it already worked all we can do is learn to live and deal with how things already are* Read like... any history book sometime lol. You seem to think the world and our culture now is what always was. It wasn't. We progress as a society, all the time. That is why blacks, gays, disabled, non-Christians, etc etc have all at one point were ostracized and treated in vary degrees of "less than a full human" and then society evolved to accept them (some still less than others). And for each one during their rise to equality there were always people like you, saying "why do you need to let "X" be a part of our society? Its always been this way, why are you changing it now?". They said it during abolition, the said it during women's suffrage, they said it about Jews, they said it about gays, and now they (and you) are saying it about trans people too. Guess what... your on the losing side of history Jack.

These terf women may feel discomfort if a masculine woman walks into a bathroom, but the transwoman needing the bathroom could be having full blown panic attacks about having to go into a bathroom allocated to men just because of her appearance. And what is masculine and feminine can be subjective anyway.
"Gender is not an identity it's an experience." I'm a trans man. Even though I lived as a girl/woman for more than 20 years I don't have the same lived experience as a lot of cis women I talked to. Often men treated me decidedly differently than my cis female peers. I don't even know why. My Latin teacher for example was overtly sexist to the girls in my class but never to me. Or the casual sexism a lot of women experience in STEM fields. I never got that from my peers and I was frankly quite surprised when female friends told me about their experiences.
And men also don't have the same experiences as you, especially body-wise. And if you were masculine before transitioning, of course it will influence how people see and treat you.
Personally I use the word "female" to refer to the sex and "woman" to refer to the gender. The difference is that sex is physical and gender is psychological.

You can point out why it is hurtful as an ally based on other voices you have heard, but the outrage is ours. Thank you.
'Trans women' are not women. They are men living as women. There's no hate in saying that. You don't have to re-write the definition of women to make the world seem safer for this small minority. It's the same as arguing that all white people are racist because white Europeans engaged in slavery. It doesn't automatically follow. You can recognize the errors of history without demoting white people, and you can respect trans people without demoting women to a sub-category. This fashionable over-reaction will go out of style like all the others. Nature was shooting for males and females - elevating every variant to equal status is ridiculous, as anthropologists will note when the radical advocates stop foaming at the mouth. Calm down.

As a younger Queen, we don’t claim him.

They’re not excusing everyday Femininity last I checked? Or Feminine Trans Men? We do know that Male - Female isn’t the only type of Transgender person right? “You barge into the women’s restroom looking like the BULLSEAL!”
It’s okay if you still have to figure things out for yourself, we all have our own journeys and experiences 🤗 Hope you can be comfortable and happy within your own body, no matter how you present yourself (changes or not)
Good luck figuring this stuff out :)
Most people don't really have a strong gender identity. Like I'm just fine being me.

wait what? no drag corn jake? i feel betrayed

Born corn - Corn Born
I heard somewhere that trans women couldn't participate in drag shows (maybe it's not a universal thing though) and my initial thought was that sounds uncool, then they gave the reasoning, that after you come out as a trans woman you are a woman and thus can no longer pretend to be one, that sounds way cooler.
ALSO commenting twice here but people always seem to forget trans men exist and i find it very funny
Gender is also a factor for a lot of people when it comes to sexual attraction. Why do these people ignore this.
I remember Rose from that debate with Xanderhal. It went like this:
Rose: says se dumb shit
Xander: No that's not even right! Haven't you ever read anything about this topic?
Rose: No
Xander: proceeds to lecture her on the topic analytically for 20 minutes.
Rose: constantly interupts and says shit like "no socialism evil because in cuba my family lost the coconut farms" or shit like that
Xanderhal: no you term lmao
Rose: uh uh um let's talk about uuh Hitler! He was a socialist!
Xander: Do you even know who he was?
Rose: Not really, i never finished school
Xander: facepalms into oblivion

I am attracted to female woman feminine. But I'm a car guy, so a lady that can do some stereotypically masculine things like fix a car or is into cars is also attractive, so I guess it depends on what you define as masculine as to if I'm attracted to anything masculine. Like physical appearance, I am not attracted to anything physically masculine.

"We cant redefine what it is to be a woman"
Says the trans woman who wants to be called a woman... like... we did it for you.
@@jackharper_games9046 *Changing how we perceive Gender and Sex to make others feel better is not a sign of respect*
We have ALWAYS changed how we perceive gender.
*The world has away it already worked all we can do is learn to live and deal with how things already are*
Read like... any history book sometime lol.

Then who should be favoured?

Cis women have beards too so there’s literally no reason that shouldn’t be considered part of womanhood
Except transphobia ofc
As an ORGANIZATIONAL psychologist (not a clinical psychologist), you are NOT qualified to talk about this topic!
Calm down.
