  • Hey there GlamFam!! So, here is a quick tutorial on how to do rope braids to the scalp! (Also known as 2 strand twists, or flat twists.)
    These are slightly more difficult on straight hair, than on kinky or coily hair. It is my firm belief that if you can do these on straight hair, you can do them on kinky/coily hair. Thank you so much for watching, and please, comment below if you learned anything or like this video!

    I am a visual learner. I've taught myself how to braid all types just by looking at the braid itself.
    Watching your video and your directions has def helped me with my rope braid technique. I knew to twist my hair closer to the scalp vs way down ,as you pointed out ppl do sometimes, but it looked off. Now its awesome thanks your so talented

    all I've ever been able to do before finding your videos is a basic braid. I'm 39 and have just recently mastered the fishtail, fishtail to the scalp, french braid, dutch braid and this rope braid to the scalp. my daughter is thrilled! as am I, as no matter how hard I've tried for 30+ years, I could never get it. thank you so much!

    • @mckennameyers7010

      And might I add, your words help A LOT! I french braided my daughter's hair for the first time ever and all her friends were complimenting her on how neat they were. All your pointers have helped so much so that when I think about my intimidation with braiding, I hear your tips and BOOM! Magic happens. Everyone told me it'd be hard to learn on her long thick hair. Nope. NOT today. :-)

    You are an amazing teacher. Ive always loved braids but could never do them, except for the regular old classic braid and a fishtail braid. I've always wanted to French braid but could never figure it out, until I watched your French braid tutorial video. Wow, it just clicked when you showed me. I've literally been trying from time to time for like 4 or 5 years on my daughter. She's 6 now and we are both so excited that I know how to do it now! Now I'm working on the underhand braid and the Dutch braid and I really like this rope twist braid, seems really easy. Anyway, keep being AWESOME! Much love

    My daughter starts kindergarten this year and now I have ideas for how to do her hair! Thanks for teaching me :) (half asian, half white hair is so difficult sometimes sigh)

    • @GetGlamFam
      @GetGlamFam  7 лет назад +2

      +adee52712 I'm so glad to be able to help give you some ideas here! It can be a challenge with straighter textures, especially children's hair, as it tends to be more fine. Hopefully some of these videos will help in just keeping her hair out of her face and eyes!
      By the way, thanks for the follow on Instagram! 😉👍🏽

      GlamFam It definitely is a struggle with her hair. It takes shape (mine doesn't) so well, but it's tough to keep together like mine. I was wondering if I should use a hair spray or oil. It's infuriating sometimes xD

    • @GetGlamFam
      @GetGlamFam  7 лет назад +3

      +adee52712 a light most of hairspray or some pomade can really help, I would say it's work a shot! Just remember, less is more! 😊

    This is amazing! I was looking around for different ways to do a french twist/rope braid style. I knew there was a way you could rope the front sections and couldn't connect in my brain how to do it. THANK you so much.

    I do this similar style for when I'm about to go to sleep for curly hair in the morning, but I do what you call the two twist style but it looks more like the rope braid for some reason lol I do kind of switch it up when I get to the hair at my nape I sometimes change it to a regular braid(might be over hand or sometimes under) then there are times I keep the twists until the about the ends then braid it down I love how my curls look different depending on a simple tweak.
